What a ray of sunshine on a cold winters day. Indian street food was new to us and especially Indian for lunch. We need not have worried as Billy, the owner guided us through the menu. This is all day, anytime of food! Loved the dosa, will be back for more of those.
Great food, great people. Billie solved all our tired and hungry children problems, and filled our bellies and our hearts. Thoroughly recommend!
Great food, authentic Indian style. Chick pea curry was a little undercooked but overall very soul satisfying food! Thankyou
This place is such a cool indian place. The styling and music vibes India. Loved the decor. We had a fresh masala tea and a Thali and it was delicious. Some great curries.
Went here otw to puffing billy and it was one of the cutest place we've eaten in + the food truly doesn't disappoint. Owner was also very friendly - and told us how she got them camels. Also had been craving for some HSPs and the lamb hsps were lit.
Quaint little place in Belgrave that serves great food for affordable prices. It’s not hard to find the shop as it’s in the main road with cute flashy signs. Their decor reminded me of villages in India.
I loved the pani poori and momo (Indian dumpling). As this place serves Kerala food, many are not familiar with the dishes. When I saw the reviews in Zomato, I was sort of hesitant but after trying their food, I realised people who complained maybe are not used to this cuisine.
This is a gem of a place and we would definitely visit again!!
The Dosas are quite nice but the samba wasn't samba, at least the coconut chutney tasted like it should. The place is small and overall well maintained with outdoor seating which is nice on warm nights.
Amazing food, and the menu had a great range so there was something for everyone in my family :) The customer service was also great. Will definitely order again!
I have never left this place disappointed, every dish is an explosive good time in my mouth, samosas are the best within a 40km radius. Staff have always been friendly and helpful
More people need to know about this place and their samosa chaat. Ive always had this dish of theirs when they attend markets around down. Good to see them set up with a shop front. Well be back in the future for more somosa chaat and dosas. Good job!
Great little restaurant right in the middle of Belgrave! Amazing flavours in the food! Great staff too! I would recommend the Masala Dosa! Delicious! Thanks Babajis!
What a find! The owners of this business can be spotted at markets and various other events with their Indian street food stall, but I hadn’t realized - until now - that they had a permanent eatery in Belgrave. The shop itself is old and quaint, and quite modest in size, but ideally placed in the main thoroughfare. The façade features sash-windows which have jade green painted frames, and inside the décor is warm and rustic, with somewhat worn polished boards, and bright green and red designs on the walls and above the timber-panelled counter. The settings are similarly homely, with paling boards on tables in a hotch-potch of colours, simple wooden benches and/ or distressed painted steel chairs, and a row of stools at a bench across the small façade, affording street views. The ambience was enhanced by some western-influenced Indian music (think Bollywood). The menu is a treat, comprising a good range of Southern Indian fare, such as curries, dosas, and samosas with many vegetarian and some vegan options. On this visit I selected the Keralan thali tasting plate of curries, which comes with a vegan option. It was very tasty, and the generous serve was filling. The service was genuinely welcoming, and casual. Do check out this fine Indian eatery.
