If you are looking for an authentic Ethiopian dish, go to Blacktown at Gursha Ethiopian Restaurant & Cafe. The food has no different with that at home. It is worth a visit. Love it!
There is absolutely nothing bad I could say when it comes to Ethiopian food.. definitely worth an hour drive.. በጣም አመሰግናለሁ
First time having Ethiopian food and I loved it. The food at Gursha was great and the staff was really lovely. I’d definitely come back. Highly recommended!

While it’s not our first trip ‘round the Blacktown Main Street block, or our first Ethiopian meal, I’m never-the-less delighted to see the popular show covering this cuisine.Tsegaw is one half of Gursha Ethiopian Restaurant, who took over the space formerly occupied by Blue Nile African Cuisine & Café, right next door to Abyssina Ethiopian Restaurant, who also make Ethiopian food. I’ve eaten in all of these restaurants, though my visit to Gursha is actually due to Tinsae Yigletu, who catered an Ethiopian dinner in my home under her Dinner with Tinsae business that regularly runs dinners in the Blue Mountains. The interior of the modest restaurant has been slightly refined, with the removal of the willow twig fence wall decorations, but the layout is still the same. big portions, delicious food and amazing service. i ordered the vegetarian combo platter (shared between 2) while my friends ordered meat dishes. everyone enjoyed their meal and was so full by the end of it. i didn’t get a chance to try the coffee but i will when i visit next time!
Another great Ethiopian joint to eat at! (The other one is next door lol!) I think the menu is outdated and the restaurant actually closes at 9pm I think. Went there by myself, read the menu and decided to get the mix meat and vegetarian platter. So good! The waitress (and owner I am assuming) is very friendly and there is Amharic (well I think anyway) pop music playing in the background. Highly recommend this place. PS My stews weren't served on top of the injera. They were seperated. Still good! They also sell injera take away. Never bought any but I like the idea of it!
Delicious platers of food thats plenty for 2 people. We could not finish it so took left overs home. Amazing value. Atmosphere was bright and clean. Friendly chef that came out and explained each dish. Is a must try if your in the area.
