That’s one Angry Burger! 🍔
Came to Bridport for a fleeting visit and decided to take a seat at this small, bustling cafe.
My partner and I were super hungry and both ordered the Angry Bird Burger (crispy fried chicken burger)
First up, it was massive! A towering feast of chicken, bacon and slaw, oh my! We both devoured them along with the yummy beer battered fries.
It’s a big meal! Even for me.
I ordered a coffee here to and probably the best coffee I’ve had in Tassie to date. ☕️
Thanks for the big, delicious lunch!
The Bridport Cafe was a lovely little place for breakfast and a coffee when in Bridport. It was empty when we got there, however by the time we left there was not a single table free in the place! The eggs Benedict was delish and served on a bagel, and the home made baked beans were great also!
As a foodblogger I probably shouldn't admit that I hadn't known that the Bridport Cafe had won the Australian Cafe of the Year Award in 2014, or maybe we should just be happy that we sniffed it out anyway!. It is set up in an old cottage on the top end of the main street, with a tree emerging from the decking outside. It was pretty busy outside so we ended up inside on one of the eclectic mix of tables. The breakfast menu covered the standard offerings...
Great coffee! We had the soft shell crab burger and the scallop mornay. Crab was interesting, if I had again I'd have the sweet jellie in the side. Very nice tho.
Mornay was killer, I def need more scallops in my diet!! Comfy spot to hang with friends and enjoy a coffee wine or beer.
It is rare to return to a place you adored 15 years ago, and find it has improved along with your stage of life - now also perfect for my accompanying toddler. See the very generous Devonshire tea - fresh scones, proper tea.
Magical location, friendly service, delish food. While road tripping around Tassie, I got to visited this great brunch place. Little did I know it was recently crowned as the Australian Cafe of the Year and I can sure say they deserved it. Our meals were delish and we got to enjoy the view of Bass Strait and friendly service.
What an awesome cafe!! Great views beautiful food and lovely people looking after us. The decor is fascinating and a must to go to when in Bridport! :-)
Te best coffee on the coast. The Bridport Cafe is the most popular Cafe in Bridport, one of many reasons would have to be the magnificent Villeno Coffee. Made in Tasmania. The decor is modern-eclectic, with amazing art on the wall, made from tea & coffee stains, by a local artist. The table and chairs, range from rustic to modern, a huge corner lounge sofa makes for extra comfort, if tables not required. On another wall a "Life Lesson Mural" all creating a quirky ambience. From an excellent fresh creative menu we chose, an Apricot, walnut & rye fruit toast, with honey and summer fruit. A Smoked Salmon, poached eggs, rocket and hollandaise. Both were nutritious and very tasty. Say no more the coffee would have to be the best on the North East Coast. We ate out side at street level, in a covered Al Fresco area. The word is on a Friday evening this cafe morphs into fine dining, with a live band. Bookings are essential. We have decided to make a booking.
