Amazing food. Super friendly staff. Huge servings. You can smell the place before you even get there. Icing on the cake as we were leaving we found puppy parking out front with a water dish it’s a nice little touch that you don’t see anywhere anymore. Well worth the hour and a half drive
We've been in Brisbane for a few months now, and Roddy's is the only place we've come back to repeatedly.
The ribs are great value, the meat is delicious and falls off the bone (beef short rib- yum!) and the green beans are so tasty, and always comes out very fast.
We like seeing Roddy behind the counter serving people and cleaning tables as it really makes it feel like he cares about his business and he is a very nice guy.
Very tasty ribs, and loving whatever it is they put on the fries.
THE BEST RIBS i’ve ever had! 🤤 the green beans were sensational. Very friendly service with quick waiting time. The price matched up to the portion and quality of the food. Highly recommend the pork ribs! We also tried the cheeseburger and it was just so so. However, the whole dining experience was excellent!

OzBargain 13th birthday meetups - Brisbane edition. Found out about this last minute and I handed to be able to go, so why not? We feasted on the likes of:
* the royal sampler, $39 - pork button half rack & beef short rib single bone
* buffalo wings, $10 - 8 deep fried chicken wings smothered in buffalo sauce served with blue cheese dipping sauce
* chicken strips, $10 - strips of deep fried, buttermilk brined, seasoned chicken served with aioli dipping sauce
* poutine, $13 - Canadian style handcut fries topped with rich gravy and Australian cheese curd
* sweet potato fries, $7
* chilli fries, $13 - handout fried chips topped with Big Roddy’s chilli and homemade American cheddar cheese sauce
Awesome meal, really enjoyed the poutine and of course all of the meats, of which the ribs were the expected standouts. Nice to meet some other members of the OzBargain community too, and share in our love of bargains!
My partner and I are visiting Brisbane for the week from New Zealand and have been to Big Roddy’s twice! Not because we didn’t know where to eat but because it was absolutely amazing!! With fantastic service, delicious food and reasonable pricing why not? Before going to the shack I saw on their website a review stating Big Roddy’s was “Ground breaking. Incredible. Life changing.” I wholeheartedly agree. We will be craving it until we can come back to Brisbane and get some more.
If you're looking for a proper cheat meal then Roddy's won't let you down. I can't pretend to say you're going to lose weight here, but you're definitely going to gain an experience of brilliant food.
The service is excellent and always friendly with a healthy dose of cheekynish.
The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a "rippin rib shack".
Finally, the food. The ribs are truly melt in your mouth. The poutine is actually real and amazing. The loaded fries are just that, loaded. Thinking about it, pretty much everything is always good.
I'm not game enough to attempt the hungry horn challenge, but I imagine you'd be ruined for anything else for life after that much good food.
This place was great. I wanted something casual with excellent food: that’s exactly what I got!
The meat was falling off the bones. I only ordered half rack because that was already 450g and I ate it all because it was delicious! They had a sweet potato chips option which I appreciate, but there so many I didn’t finish them.
Best burgers in town. Chips were seasoned like nothing else and the staff were incredible. We had a bunch of sides and everything was reasonable and delicious. Great experience.

Definitely a great place for meat and chips lovers. Large portion, good to share, but a shower is needed after going back home as the good smell leaves
