My partner and I were lucky enough to stumble across this restaurant tonight when looking or dinner ideas.
The food was fantastic, and particularly well seasoned, we enjoyed the 8 course degustation menu and every dish complimented each other beautifully.
The staff were lovely, the service they provided was warm and attentive, the lady who served us joked about how much we must have hated the food as we sent plate after plate back empty.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful night, we will be adding this to our favorites list in Brisbane, would very much recommend!
This restaurant is my favourite place to eat. All the combinations of food that are put together are unique and delightful. I have not found a place that equals this wonderful cuisine!!
My partner and I finally decided to give 85 Miskin Street a try after many years of driving past and saying we should give that a try, and it did not disappoint!
The food and service were impeccable. We had the dégustation and not only was the food delicious and but it was also interesting, which made it exciting to eat!
Definitely worth a trip to the suburbs to dine here!
Rated 4.5. Went here with the partner after making a reservation as soon as the restaurant re-opened with the loosening of COVID-19 restrictions.
We chose the five-course tasting menu at $65pp. Between both of us, for entrees we tried: "citrus cured salmon" (light, fresh and well-balanced in flavours and textures) and "pork belly" (beautifully succulent with crispy skin). For mains: "barramundi" (perfectly cooked with crispy skin) and "eye fillet" (cooked medium-rare, standard but well-prepared accompaniments and flavours). For desserts: "chocolate tart" (beautifully moreish dark chocolate) and "fig pudding" (warm, moist and homely flavours). The complimentary amuse bouche and palate cleaners were refreshing and delicious teasers between courses.
Service was friendly and efficient. Smart casual ambience (and appropriately socially distanced between tables). Reasonable prices.
Overall, a good dining experience with a modern Australian/French flair.
7-course degustation menu exceeded our expectations. Flavours were well paired and portions were very generous!
Amazing food, great service and reasonably priced
The degustation dinner had a nice and varied line up of courses that was overall just the right amount of food. Their breakfasts are exceptional, with the quality of the meals just as refined and unique as the dinner items. It is unfortunate that they are only open for breakfast on the weekend because 85 Miskin is a real gem for a sophisticated morning out.
Very lucky to have this as a local restaurant. They do some of the best breakfasts I’ve ever tasted. We have been for dinner a few times which have been pretty specials. All of the food is creative and beautiful and well as delicious.I’ve not eaten one bite I didn’t completely enjoy.
The menu is always changing which keeps things fresh. The staff are warm and welcoming too. Definitely one of my favourites.
Took my parents here for dinner, only complaint was the refurbishment with wooden floors has made it too noisy to the point that you really have to yell across the table when it’s busy. Food was all amazing and highlight for me was the pork belly and chocolate dessert. Octopus and barramundi dishes were both cooked perfectly. Sticky date pudding also delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Would go back!
My husband and I were so impressed with the service and quality of food throughout the entire degustation menu. We were referred by a friend and it is a hidden gem in the quiet streets of Toowong. We will definitely be back as we enjoy a lot of restaurants in Brisbane and this by far is one of the best. We could not fault our evening at all.
If you're serious about brunching take it to the next level and do 85 Miskin's Breakfast degustation with drinks - it's an experience. The restaurant itself is so beautiful too, just a really nice space to be in.

+4.5
I tried my first degustation at 85 Miskin St and have been hooked ever since. Their latest degustation menu is fantastic. It ticks all of the boxes in terms of my go to ingredients/dishes - pork belly, salmon, beef cheek, haloumi, chocolate/coffee dessert! From the mushroom latte amuse bouche to the delicious crispy pancetta with a tender slow cooked beef cheek...I was in foodie heaven! All topped off with a yummy espresso martini (with a scoop of icecream!). If you have never tried a degustation I would definitely recommend going here. It's also really great value in comparison to other restaurants with tasting menus. Just make sure you get dropped off out the front if you are wearing high heels otherwise you will have to tackle a very steep hill!
Absolutely fantastic experience. We did a degustation and brought our own wine. BYO is $15 per bottle if I remember correctly. The service by Brendon was excellent. Great guy, professional and friendly.
The food was amazing. I forgot to photograph all the dishes. All of the dishes were superb!
Sad that they are closing but I'm glad I got to eat there before they do. I highly recommend dining there before they close.
The food and service at 85 Miskin St is spectacular! We have had two Christmas lunches with them and have been blown away with the menu and courses they produced! We can’t wait to come back soon!
What a treat. A quaint little spot tucked away on a suburban street. A cosy interior with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. The food was beautifully presented and was a delight to eat. Each dish was the perfect serving as to not overwhelm you and make you full, they led on well to the next dish and by the end I was justly satisfied and satiated. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Once I pierced through the crispy skin of duck confit, hot air and smell of duck burst out. The meat was soft and juicy.
I have never imagined chocolate could come with rosemary and made as Cream Brûlée. Surprisingly matched and delicious!
Putting Ice cream scoops, caramelised banana, shortbread, banana chantilly altogether onto the plate looked messy but indeed their taste were harmony connected and yummy!
A bit noisy during my visit as there was a group of 7 sharing the little room chatting and laughing loudly. It would be perfect if the staff could arrange the big group to other floor so the rest of us could have a dinner inside the hidden cozy cottage.
I had 5 course tasting menu with my family and friends.
Absolutely amazing! Enjoyed every single dish.
It says tasting menu but size of the food was more than I expected, way too good for the price!!
staff was very helpful to coordinated a meals for children.
I also loved the 'very quiet' atmosphere.
Highly recommended, can't wait to go back 🙂
You would not only be amazed by the presentation of the food, the flavour of individual dishes would bring surprises to your taste buds. The choice of matching wines for degustation course are so perfect. This is our second visit to 85 Miskin St, and we still couldn’t stop talking about the food and wine on the way home!!!
We came here for date night last night - we haven’t been here for a while since COVID, but we’re not disappointed! Still excellent food and service. The bisque was a stand out!
One of the very best restaurants ( owned and managed by Brent & Kylie ) in Brisbane . Visited this restaurant since 2005 for the last 17 years . Wonderful degustation as well as À la carte menu and all the dishes are prepared with top class skill and passion ! Delicious ! Tasty ! Excellent service ! Well done Chef Brent and Kylie ! Always delivered! It is very sad that this unique place is closing down at the end of April 2022 . What a great couple to miss ! Wishing them healthy and happy always no matter when and where they will be 🙏🙏🙏 All the very best !
