Review Zeus Street Greek South Bank - Brisbane

Yuwan Malakar
We were at Zeus this week. Lovely place and great hospitality. Food was awesome. Man, those four dips.. my favourite was the egg plant dip. We took away our leftover lamb (no photos though), my son loved it. We'll definitely return..

Nice variety of seating options. Spacious for a weekday lunch. Very friendly and attentive staff. As much as you can ask for in this style of restaurant. The menu seemed reasonably priced but a bit more questionable once the the food was served - Spartan bowl felt small. Mind you, it took a while to get through so it was probably appropriate. The bread and chicken were both really good, but the slaw was super simple and the serving of the dip was small. Overall, would return, would recommend, probably a food option to weigh up alongside grill'd, burrito bar and GyG.

Food was super fast and service was great . We ordered from the table on the app , some of the items were slightly more expensive for some reason but only by 50c. You can always order from the counter but it’s great that they have the option. All food was as described and tasted good . Food was priced right .

Halloumi chips were maybe fine. But the Zeuss wrap and my friend's Hades wrap were just drowned in mayo. My pita bread was dry and chewy, maybe a little too burnt. Nothing tasted fresh. The lamb was chewy and tough. Cabbage had a weird smell. Sigh... I couldn't finish my pita. We didn't like it but the bin chicken seemed to really enjoy it the moment we left.

Great location and accessible from Grey street and Little Stanley. It is clean with friendly staff. The food lives up to what one would expect of Greek food. Great sharing options and nice atmosphere.

Overpriced for what you get and poor service. Would expect more lamb when paying $24.50 for a Spartan bowl. Also shouldn't have to ask for cutlery to eat or table water but had to. With so many better options around will not be back.

Came here for dinner and would definitely recommend! Food was nice and prices are very affordable. Great ambience too, with lovely views of Southbank. Thank you!

The portion sizes are criminal, looks like it’s been half eaten. if I could give no starts I would. Ordered off Uber eats food got delivered cold and burnt. Won’t be ordering here again, would advise against it, unless you like giving away money. :) P.s I bit into the salad and they don’t even have pitted olives. So I ended up almost breaking a tooth on the olive.

This place offers lamb but instead serves overcooked, tough, old and dry mutton. It is served without first draining or absorbing the fat so it is hard, grey meat swimming in a pool of grease.

Decent greek fare in South Bank's main eating street. There's a lot of greek food to be had in Melbourne. It was good to see the meat being cooked, you knew what you were getting. The cocktails were tasty. I enjoyed the dolmades. They are so underrated. One of the better eateries in South Bank.

Was really good overall! Had delicious food but quite overpriced in order to try some of everything for a large group.

Zeus is a fast food sort of versian of Greek food. Greek food is simple & tasty & this wasn't at all a bad rendition. I ordered the falafels which came with slaw. Generous serve & the falafels were light & moist. Greek salad was ok

Food was fantastic. Very yummy. The calamari might be the best ive ever eaten. Only thing to be aware of is if you get a groupon, you will be required to provide credit card details to the Zeus app on your phone (only) to claim it, even though the groupon is already paid for. It doesnt tell you that on the groupon at all. I wasnt delighted with that. I dont intend to actually use the credit card in the app to eat there. <br/><br/> Will happily go back and pay full price though, the food is to die for.

Affordable wraps that were delivered relatively quickly on a busy night. I ordered the zeus, which was tasty! Staff were great too.

the wraps here are fantastic, i used to get my wife to bring me one home after work all the time, the only issue is because i want half lamb half chicken, it always cost me extra for some reason, and it started getting pretty expensive for a souvlaki when u then add holoumi and feta onto it, they also do a great calamari if you haven't tried it, it's absolutely delicious, wish it was somewhere other than southbank so it could be a little cheaper though.

Located in crowded area of Southbank, Zeus is always jam-packed with people in the evening. Zeus has really good and wide ranges of pitas! Been here twice and always enjoyed the food. The service was good and the food came quite fast. The pitas were in decent portion and packed to the brim. I have tried Apollo and Aegean Schnitzel and both meats were moist and the sauces tasted great. The pitas were in the right size that they could envelope all ingredients inside. Totally dig the chips, especially haloumi chips. The haloumi gave savoury complement to the chips and made the chips tasted really good.
Foodie
Would give this a 4.5 actually.. really really surprised at how good the pita wraps were!! Staff were eager to please and my calamari wrap was really good. Service is super prompt as well. Overall I really can’t fault anything. Another plus is that they have a tap to wash your hands which is always really handy.

Decent pita wraps, loved the chicken version of the same. They were filled with juicy chicken along with fries and tomatoes.<br/><br/>☑️☑️☑️Recommends : Classic Tzimmy<br/>Cost :11.5$<br/><br/>❎❎❎Would Not Prefer : Stavros Stavrou<br/>Reason : Overly tangy flavour which did not blend well with the fillings<br/><br/>It's a filler for one person.<br/><br/>They do have additional sauces and add ons which comes at an additional cost.<br/><br/>Coming to the service, the staff will as helpful and polite to help me understand the dishes on the menu.<br/><br/>Would I Come Back?<br/>Yes, to try the other varieties of food on menu.
Eggcelent Eatventures
Came here to eat on Christmas Eve, not many places were open so thankful these guys were. We ordered 2 spartan boxes, haloumi chips and two classic tzimmys. To say we were disappointed is an understatement... when all you can taste is undercooked pita (claimed to be fluffy bread) you know you’re not being served authentic Greek. The proportion of bread to meat is out. The portion sizes might be ok if your Santa’s elf. The Tzatziki tasted more like hummus against the “fluffy bread”. Oh and they forgot to add chips in my pita. <br/>The haloumi chips are ok if you’re fine with paying $2 per chip! We won’t be coming back, sorry we tried to like it.
Afarag0511
For starters at the counter the girl was impatient and rude but that is ok. Then, they claim that the spartan pack had 140g of meat. When it arrived, there were two over cooked sad looking and underweight pieces of chicken. I don’t think their food is anything close to Greek either. I don’t know maybe I just had a really bad experience but so did 4 other people on my table.

SUMMARY<br/><br/>Fast food Greek cuisine that although isn’t bad, feels a bit overpriced for what you are getting.<br/><br/>AMBIENCE 3/5<br/><br/>I don’t get the “Zeus” part of the restaurant. If you ignore the name on the wall, it’s decorated like a generic Australian cafe. <br/><br/>Does have outside seating with gas heaters.<br/><br/>SERVICE 2/5<br/><br/>Fast food ordering, but slow service. Took 20 minutes to get our food. <br/><br/>For the price range, you are getting fast food service but at a higher price range so that discrepancy is a bit jarring.<br/><br/>PRESENTATION 4/5<br/><br/>No issues really. In individual baskets which is nice, but bland.<br/><br/>FOOD TASTE 3/5<br/><br/>Again nothing that is amazing. The food just tasted like ordinary Greek fast food. Donuts dessert were ok. Calamari fried were a bit soggy. Not impressed.<br/><br/>As a side note, the “Zeus for two” $49 special does not seem “worth it” or you are getting much of a discount at all.
Jondo
Meat is nicely done, we had pork and lamb, both very tender and flavourful cooked on the spit. Pita was also quite nice. Loukomathes (donuts) were fresh and tasty. The thing that let down the experience were the handful size serving of chips - for a whopping $6.50, and the calamari which was so oily it was inedible, and expensive at $14.50, as well as the tiny portion of tzatziki - about 1 tablespoon. Overall, not bad though!

Today at Southbank I decided to revisit this shop as I hadn't been there in a while.<br/><br/>I was surprised at how quiet it was compared to how it used to be before but the food seems to have a similar quality as before.<br/><br/>Not long after ordering I was served my Fimi Falafel Yiros, it was not impressive but still managed to fit for a decent dinner, with a couple of veggies inside and the beetroot hummus it managed to pair well with the falafel which would have been a bit dry otherwise.<br/><br/>Overall I enjoyed my meal and my friend was also happy with his yiros.
Ancien Fenton-s
The venue looks great, the staff are really friendly and the food is superb.<br/>The wraps are the perfect healthy takeaway lunch.<br/> Whilst this time around my gf and I had the Feast for Two which was huge.<br/> We chose the Village Salad (the classic Greek style salad) and the Calamari for our sides.<br/>For the meat of choice we got chicken, and it was excellently char grilled!<br/>The Calamari was of the quality that you would expect from a restaurant that specialises in seafood.<br/>Between two of us we struggled to finish the meal it was well portioned. And for $43 it's extremely well priced for our date night.<br/>Pair that with a Mythos beer, it was a night thoroughly enjoyed.

When I visit an establishment that results in a sub standard experience my general rule of thumb is to just simply not review them at all. However the overall experience at this establishment" was so appalling it warrants a warning to any unsuspecting customers.<br/> <br/>Not one single person out of the 5 people working greets you upon entrance or even bothers to look at you or suggest where you might be able to grab a seat, despite waiters constantly wondering around with lost and or disinterested expressions. <br/><br/>The tables were filthy, and being casual eatery I don't mind having to grab my own cutlery and napkins out of the self serve buckets on the table... Except none of them had been refilled despite it not being busy at all and one of the managers standing around doing not Very much at all. The place is also sweltering - no air con or fans.. Not off to a great start. <br/><br/>It is counter service, except no one bothers to let you know or put menus on the table to ascertain this. When you are able to locate a dirty sticky menu from three tables down, you'll see the menu is mostly yiros. It suggests some promise.. <br/><br/>It was served promptly, but lacked seasoning. Really not much else to be said about the food... Save to say with the sweat and grease pouring off of us from the yiros and the heat it would have been great to have some napkins. Basic stuff really.<br/><br/>As we left and walked out of the restaurant again not. One single staff member bothered to look, say goodbye or thank us.... Again basic hospitality. Look i know it's holidays but that's no excuse for poor attitude and service. Don't open if you don't want to be there! <br/><br/>1 star, for cold beer. <br/><br/>Thoroughly disappointing, head elsewhere <br/>

My friends and I really enjoyed our meal at Zeus Street in Southbank, and will come back! I have the lamb souvla and a side of haloumi - absolutely delicious! The lamb was cooked perfectly and held great flavour. Everything was really well priced for the food that you get.
Claudia Ng
I don't know why but I always pass by Zeus without feeling the need to come into the store, but every time I do sit down for a meal, I always have a good experience. The staff are super friendly, and the Zeus Lamb I had was absolutely delicious, although there was a bit too much veggie in it. The only real point of improvement I would say is that the portions are a bit small and you definitely need to order sides or dessert in order to feel full from the meal because there isn't a lot of meat in the dishes.
Jessie Fox
Consistent high quality pitas, chips and salad. Great service, nice ambience and great drinks. Allow modifications for my partner who is gluten free and low Fodmap
Daniel
The Zeus Souvlaki was a tad bland because of all the coleslaw. The calamari was good and the aioli was tasty. The service was fast and efficient.
Abigail Hocking
didn't have high expectations as it's not my type of food but surely had higher expectations than what i was met with. i had the chicken souvla and its was absolutely disgusting. i have never tasted chicken so rank, it wasn't even chicken it was just veiny grossness. my friend got a lamb pita and he struggled to eat it because it was so messy and ended up jot finishing it. staff were very nice though
The Domestic Traveller
There’s nothing better than walking around the Brisbane Southbank. And after all that walking you can build up a good appetite. And my good friend, told me that this was a good place to grab a bite. There was so many good choices that I had to go with the stock standard option. Sometimes to really weigh up a place, you have to go with the standard option and see how they fare against the other challengers.
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
I was walking past Zeus Street Greek the other day and realized that it has been nearly a year since I last enjoyed their Souvla Chicken or Souvla Pork.<br/><br/>I ordered the Uncle 'Tzimmy' Chicken ($11.50), which includes Zeus' signature Souvla Chicken, Tomato, Chips, Tzatziki and Paprika in a Pita. I requested the Tzatziki on the side, which annoyed the staff, but they said they would accommodate my request were I was dining in. <br/><br/>Less than seven minutes later I was digging into a lovely chicken pita, however the tzatziki would never arrive.<br/><br/>The chicken and pita had good flavor, but the chips accounted for the bulk of the filling. In reality there isn't that much meat and the serving size is considerably smaller than a regular kebab. <br/><br/>Admittedly, I have a larger appetite than most, but one of their pitas is more like a snack for me. Still, it is a tasty snack.<br/><br/>*****<br/>23 June 2016<br/>Rated 3.5<br/><br/>Food = 4, Value = 3...thus my 3.5 rating.  I enjoy the chicken and pork, but find their prices to be very inflated for what equates to kebab/yiro/souvlaki.  Used to order from here more often before the Yiros Shop opened across the street.  Much better value for money there.
Frenchfrygirl
Zeus, you delicious little morsel of heavenly goodness. Thank you for a one of a kind yiros: soft shell crab! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this on the menu. I had to try it and was impressed with the asian slaw and tangy lime dressing, complimented with fresh coriander. Have recommended and definitely coming back. Bit steep for $13 though.

Really nice place for lunch with our child. They have coloring set and puzzle suitable for a toddler / lower primary. There are two options for kids.<br/><br/>The food itself was pretty good in a really nicely fitted out place. They did forget to bring us the juice from our kids meal but quickly fixed this. I ordered the Uncle Tzimmy. Initially expected the chips on the side 1but then realized they're inside the pita. Wasn't super filling but just enough. My companion ordered The Zeus. The menu said there would be smoked Eggplant and initially we couldn't find it but then we were told and given extra the spread used on the inside of the pita. It tasted more hummus-sy to me but I can't claim to be an expert. <br/><br/>The service was friendly and efficient. Would come here again

I ordered the seasonal salad which was $14.50!! and it was a complete disappointment and a waste of money. It was a tiny plate of bland cauliflower, broccoli and one piece of haloumi cut up. I was really angry that this tiny plate of bad food cost so much money. Will not be going back!

This restaurant looks pretty from the outside, and the interior is nice when I take a look at it. However, I was not enjoying the dining experience here.<br/><br/>Firstly, the cashier was very rude. He does not greet nor smile to the customer. I am a beginner at Greek food, so I asked how big is Souvla, whether I can share it with 2 people. He does not provide an answer and rushing me to buy instead. I was looking at the customers after me, and they also got the cashier's rude attitude.<br/><br/>In the end, I bought a Lamb Souvla, waiting it to be delivered to my table. The table service was slow. The portion is medium, can be eaten by 2 people if both are not feeling too hungry. <br/><br/>The rudeness makes me feel like I will not come back here in the future.

I've walked past Zeus a number of times and always wanted to try their food since I do like Greek food. Finally dropped in here for a quick bite to eat on a night where I didn't feel like anything too fancy for dinner. I ordered their Zeus lamb pita (gyro). I could see the spit-roasted meat in the kitchen and was looking forward to it. <br/>The Zeus turned out to be reasonably good. The bread was soft and fit for purpose and the meat was delicious. I would have liked a little more. The salad was fresh, but I wasn't a big fan of the excessive amount of red cabbage - its slight bitterness dominated. I also missed the sort of moisture that something like tomatoes add (although it was sensibly left out since it wouldn't have gone with the red cabbage).<br/>Overall, it was a reasonably good pita (gyro), but I would agree with Mr Meatballs And Beef Cheeks that it is a little expensive for what it is.
Foodspree
Amazing little place! Food takes me back to Greece and cocktails are so delicious. Could fault a single thing. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the city!

Coming from Adelaide where the yiros is legend the pita we had were delicious but small. In my book the yiros should be so packed with filling that the wrapper is all thats holding it together and bits fall out every time you bite into it. Agree that for what you get it is a little expensive...but is tasty.
Coffee Snob
I come here regularly and can honestly say I've never had a bad meal. Concept is great and so is the atmosphere. The food is delicious and always rotating so there's always something new to try.
MumLife_ArmyWife
Great service, fast, friendly, and fresh.<br/>The gluten free pita is amazing, not heavy or dense.<br/>Even my fussy hubby and kids loved the place, we will definitely be back.
JGC
The traditional lamb gyros is epic, but everything I've tried here has been good. Maybe a tiny bit pricey for what it is, but the quality is great and you are in south bank, so I'm sure their overheads aren't cheap.
Brad
Look, the food was nice but it certainly wasnt amazing. The portions were average and for the price I expected more. We grabbed a chicken gyro, a lamb gyro, a fetta and rosemary chips and a spanikopita. The gyros didnt have any salad other than a little bit of tomato and very little meat filling. For just under $50 for takeaway food it wasnt amazing. Shame though because the restaurant looks amazing and smells entice you to walk in.
Rachel Larrigan
Never had a fault with this restaurant at all the food always come out quick and fresh. <br/>Also affordable for a quick bite to eat<br/>Staff are always helpful <br/>Menu is bright and colourful.
Ben Doyle
I've dined in and taken away. I've eaten this food while stone-cold sober and brutally pissed. No matter what the situation, or state I've been in, Zeus – the Greek god of flavour (I think?) – has smiled down on me. If there is two or three of you (depending on how much chow you can put away), go the Feast for Two. It cost us $42 (standard: $39) and we had a shit-ton of crispy skin chicken, squid, this overachieving bean salad with feta, pine nuts and honey, tzatziki, two pitas and pilaf rice. I know, right?! #FoodForDayz. And you can mix and match across pretty much the whole menu, so anything's possible... kinda.
Rob Logan
I order through uber eats. Waited for almost an hour and then they cancelled. By then it was too late to order anything so I had to eat toast for dinner 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Hbomb
We had an amazing lunch today at this restaurant. Couldn't fault a single dish and we ordered the lamb, chicken, calamari, saganaki, rice, chips with feta and salads. Will definitely be back when in the area
Colin Chuang
Winner winner. Had some of the best chicken here. Great food, healthy, brilliant location. Some more options for vegetarians would have been nice.
Betty & Jason
Great place to go with a big group of friends since the sharing platters are generous with a big variety. Really enjoyed the chicken and pork, wasn't a fan of the lamb since it was really chewy and flavourless. Trio of dips were awesome and I loved the feta chips. Really want to go back for the haloumi chips!
A Foodie Travels
Zeus has nice atmosphere ,like being in a little taverna, had souvlaki and chips, souvlaki was a bit small but tasty
The Last Mouthful
Modern design and laid-back atmosphere. The pitas are delicious - thick soft bread, crispy veg, well-cooked meat. Also love the soft and crunchy saltiness of the feta & oregano fries. Yum!
Can't Cook
An easy lunch option! No fuss Greek food in a nice part of South Bank. Give the 'signature' cocktails a miss and go for a beer and pita pairing
JessicaS
Good location and offers no-fuss good quality food which will appeal to many. However I didn't find anything particularly "distinct" from the usual Greek fare and the menu options could all probably be taken up a notch by a touch of more innovation and creativity. Throw some unconventional Greek menu items out there and this place will win in authenticity and popularity.
Sammieats
Great experience here at Zeus. The service was great and the food arrived quickly despite having a table of ~20 people. I ordered the Zeus pita which consisted of their famous lamb along with some fresh salad. It was really yummy, filling and at an affordable price but the most memorable were the sides of squid and feta chips. Would definitely come again to try more of their pitas.
Sepp
Ho hum... fun night out in nice ambiance, but apart from the delicious Filo Fingers, the rest of the food was bland - especially if you compare it to the Greek Club or Lefkas. Mediocre service, too...
Diana
Never had a bad meal at Zeus. No matter what you pick off the menu, you can rest assured you will enjoy it. In comparison to the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable.
Peachy Truthburgers
really good customer service (staff so friendly and prompt), delectable food, atmosphere and interiors are 10/10, i went here for a snack on my birthday and they gave us free dessert!!!! really enjoyed my time spent there, will be back and absolutely recommend this place for everyone! P.S they cook halloumi to perfection *mwah*
Ana
Great food and very fast service. Cute place with lots of plants. It seems they have an "only attractive people can work here" thing going on too. I love the modern look they have too.
DB
By Zeus' Beard! What a great little place. It's not fancy and its not cutting edge, but it is funky and it is fantastic! The decor is modern, clean and fresh. The food has a range of brilliant classic Greek gems served in a modern and fresh way. Great friendly and speedy service with reasonably priced food. Check it out!
Wierenga79
Tonight me and a friend decided to try something new. And we find Zeus. I had the Zeus and it was very nice The meat was cooked lovely and it fell apart pitas bread was soft, had crunch was warm!! Then we shared the feta filo fingers, so so so good!! Warm, creamy, sweet, savoury. Would definitely happen again! <br/>I had the uncle tzimmy pita it was nice but could have uses a bit more spice. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The service was quick but the entree came out the same time as the main. Great atmosphere, Nice casual vibe!!! Overall it was a good experience!!! <br/><br/>
JeZzA
Loved it. The calamari dish was very nice and tender. The pitas were delicious - quality filling and nice combination. Only small criticism would be the portion size of the pitas. But must try and reminds me on Jimmy Grants in Melbourne.<br/>Food - 8.5<br/>Value - 7<br/>Decor - 9<br/>Service - 9
Samie
Yum yum yum!!! I was so excited when Zeus first opened and it didn't disappoint. The calamari was absolutely melt in your mouth!! My soft shell crab seem to have an Asian theme but it was still good. Love their Greek keys wrapping and packaging - really adds to the experience.
Vishal Kumar
Went here twice, so this is a summary of those experiences. Overall, good ambience and a good greek feel. <br/><br/>The first time I went I ordered the 'Lamb Nude', a bowl of amazingly cooked meat, and little else. This was simply brilliant and was part of my tasting evening I had. Would recommend.<br/><br/>The second time I went in for the pitas. I split a Papa Niko (Chicken) and a Soft-shell with a friend. Ended up favouring the Papa Niko. The soft-shell, would not order again.<br/><br/>Otherwise, a good experience and can come back for more. A solid 4.0.
Brendan
Zeus Street Greek is a great little place to try some Greek street food. They do really delicious wraps and they also do online ordering which is fantastic. I recommend the haloumi wrap and some salt and pepper calamari.
Peter
The food was alright but the portions were very small and definitely not worth the price. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Not good enough to warrant a second visit.
Tash
The Spartan chicken satisfies so many needs ugh. So delicious. I love this place, from the feta and oregano chips to the variety of tasty pitas Zeus has never failed me and continues to just get better ! Every occasion I've been there staff has been nothing but friendly and the atmosphere is just lovely
NotaFoodieee
My tummy was hurting so I wanted a glass of warm water. the waiter was impatient when I asked and made me feel bad. <br/><br/>Also I am missing two stamps on my rewards card just because he couldn't find the stamp. <br/><br/>
Sarah Munson
Got take away from here and overall it was delicious. I probably would have asked for extra tzatziki if I ordered again, as the gyiros was a little dry. But a generous portion of meat and thoroughly satisfying. <br/>Probably a little over-priced for what you get though. It isn't the best Greek I've had, but far and away from the worst!
Eat Canberra
I love Greek food! I was visiting South Bank for work and had seen the awesome photo from this place! I couldn't wait to get my mouth around one and was so happy when I did. A delicious, flavoursome and simple dinner. I took mine to the river and enjoyed it while soaking up some city lights! Can't wait to try more from Zeus next time I'm in Brisbane.
Fungus
I love their meats, haloumi and the calamari! Can't fault anything! They even have traditional alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, namely their soft drink and Mythos beer. One thing I would say is, the kids size wrap is exactly the same size as the non kids size and you save a bit on the coin too!!
Besleo28
This is a place full of vibes. Prices are very reasonable, food is alright not the best taste for Greek foods. Would recommend tho for a light meal with good vibes
Kate Parrott
Quick and simple Greek. I would put this place as equivalent to a Greek Grill'd. Funky decor, you line up and order and the front, they give you a number and you find a seat. The service is very efficient - I think our meals were out in less than 5mins. My husband and I both ordered a lamb pita wrap and a bowl of chips. Lovely flavors and nicely cooked meat. I especially liked their pita - it was different to other places I had been. It was a bit thicker and had some flavor to it. I would go again but not if I wanted a sit down meal (I would go to Leftkas- it's more traditional too). Due to the high turn over of people and consistent long line out the door, you do feel like you have to eat and then go straight away. That being said this place is clearly popular and they are obviously doing well as a business.
Nick
Popped in for a late lunch around 2pm. Meals came out very quickly considering it was still fairly busy. I thought I'd try something different with "The Zeus"; a lamb pita which was nice but nothing to write home about. The hot chips were basically perfect.
Rebecca
I'd definitely come back to eat for a tasty, filling meal. The lamb was tender, the pita bread was soft and the feta chips were perfectly crisp.
Sandy Heron
I was really looking forward to trying the food here. AND I'd been craving soft-shell crab. <br/>Unfortunately when I took my first bite of the crab it tasted strange. I tried to enjoy it but only ate a 1/3 of the wrap and couldn't finish it.  <br/>I also ordered a $7.50 glass of wine but was told they were in the middle of changing the wine menu and had a different sav/blanc from the same region. Then they didn't have any f that one but showed me a Greek semillon sav/blanc. After I paid for my order I realized they charged my $10 for this! What the!?! The girl should of told me the price difference.<br/>If I ever do go back I will be trying a more traditional yiros,  but I doubt they will be seeing me again.<br/>Oh - and my daughter wanted me to mention the pigeons on the tables.  A hard thing to control but they were pooing on the tables and it didn't get wiped down before people came and sat for their meals.

You enter Zeus from either Grey St. or Little Stanley St. to use Indoor tables/benches or sit outdoors. Orders taken at the counter on the Grey St. entrance. Keeping with street food theme, three serving stations allow menu orders where you can pay by cash or credit using the handy  e-commerce terminals. Follow up orders can be made by your mobile device - e.g. for sweets/extra drinks to your table. Interesting range of drinks -soft, domestic and international beers (Greek included) as well as wines (also Greek options). My soft shelled crap pita wrap ($13.50) was delicious, served with slaw within a fresh pita that made the apparently small offering quiet substantial. The generous crab was juicy and perfectly cooked. Other offerings included slow-cooked lamb, pork or chicken from the souvla, salads, sides, dips and even a plate of chips to satisfy all. Also gluten free and vegetarian offerings. Lunch box offerings were good value with your choice of meat and salad combinations. Once you get used to the self-service aspect the food is what will keep customers enjoying the tasty offerings.
Amanda Divito
Wasn't a big fan of the pita wraps, I was expecting larger wraps with more filling for the price you pay, chips with fetta is a must :) Spanakopita was very authentic it was beautiful. No hot drinks served here was dissapointing 👎 overall decent Greek street food restaurant:)
Kim
Awesome food. Feta Chips are a MUST! A little over priced but it's worth it. Definitely what Southbank needed. Friendly bubbly staff & awesome atmosphere.

Been here 4 times and loved it every time! First time I ordered the soft shell crab, i haven't looked back. I last went with a big group of friends for a quick bite before a night out, we were all happy with what we ordered. A girl named kathy that worked there gave us a free bowl of chips with feta! on the house! The prices are very reasonable too! Would recommend if you're looking for a tasty affordable meal.
Clare
Zeus is great! We really enjoyed our take away :) There was plenty of gluten free options to choose from, and the service was fast and friendly. The nude lamb and chicken were cooked to perfection, and the calamari and soft shell crab were super tasty - would definitely have all these again! The GF pita was fine (not bad, not amazing, just regular gluten free!) and the gluten eaters really rated the regular pita :) oh - and the presentation: ace!

With Greek being well established in Australia as a cuisine, places are going to have to do well when they pop up to distinguish themselves from the long-running classics. Zeus had one thing in mind, and that was to make it a grand opening. From having a dip into there, what can be said is that they have definitely tried. With a collaboration between the heads behind Pony Dining, and the Crust pizza chain, the reception of them should say good things; I can't speak having not been to either place yet.<br/><br/>As usual, I was having a usual catch up and meeting with my friend near the cinema. One day that he proposed, I happened to be working nearby and he suggested the usual arrangements - lunch and a movie - which boded well with me. After my shift ended, it was here as quick as I could make it. First, as always, it was to arrange lunch.<br/><br/>He was feeling like something more cheap than usual, and I had a few possibilities in mind. After showing him a couple of them, it was this one (the first one that I showed him) which tickled his fancy the most. This is one of the more recent (as of reviewing) additions to South Bank's dining precinct, so it naturally has a bit of hype going for it for now. It also does delivery, as you can see the bike when walking in from one of the entrances. <br/><br/>This is one of the few places along the stretch of restaurants (bar those lucky to be on a corner or curve) in which their is an entrance from both Grey and Little Stanley streets. Great use is made of the space, with half of it being the counter and kitchen; looking inside, you can see the big bits of meat being cooked slowly, creating an appetising appearance and filling the restaurant with a distinct smokiness. It has that distinct style of interior often associated with Greek architecture. At the back, there is a station for hygiene, getting your water and all of the condiments needed (the table we chose happened to be right next to it). The internal seating has one long, continuous booth. Go out the back (Little Stanley side), and there are a lot of al fresco tables. It at least has the atmosphere down pat. <br/><br/>Service is basically the same as usual to what is expected. They have counter service, where you order your meals (preferably in one go), pay, then find a seat. It is friendly, and is overall a casual affair. Nothing out of the ordinary to be stated, but for fairness they knew how to space out an order I had - dessert was on the agenda from the forefront. <br/><br/>The selection of the menu at Zeus is kept very simple. Mainly, it is a selection of different pita wraps, salads and barbecued meats with a few other extras. Each wrap comes on a bread board which is just big enough to fit it. That's about it, plus a whole lot of wines and beers for beverages. One last thing with the menu, most of the pitas have a code name for them, usually going for something Greek themed such as a God. <br/><br/>The wrap that I got was their soft shell crab. It was lightly crumbed and served with an Aegean slaw, drizzled with a preserved lemon mayonnaise, and a sweet chili sauce, plus served with caramalised onion, and sprinkled off with coriander. Soft shell crab has never disappointed me beforehand, and that continued to be the case here. Looks can be deceiving, as the wraps don't look awfully big at first, but they are filled almost to the brim with their ingredients. The crab, as per usual, was delicious, soft and very sweet - it is just heavenly on the palate. Adding onto that was fresh coleslaw, making a good crunch with the seafood and infusing well with the coriander, the chill and mayonnaise. Rounding off the balanced tastes was the sweetness of the well cooked onions. As a wrap, it is pretty solid and rare to find a good quality seafood one for such a price. One last aspect about it to address is that I found it odd that they didn't give this one a code name; Poseidon would have been the perfect name for it. Ah well, just gripes. <br/><br/>On the side, I got an order of their spankaopita - this is a favourite from my childhood. The classic spinach and feta pie encased in buttery, flaky pastry is pretty hard to pass up. Upon trying it again after a few years, it still holds up. It was fresh, tasty, filled to the brim with spinach and the pastry was simply fantastic. Something simple which adds up so much in relativity. <br/><br/>My friend decided to go "Nude", and ordered the chicken with some pita. There was a lot of it, and maybe a bit too much for him, so he offered me to nick some; it was tender, delicious and moist - done really well from the slow-cooking over the charcoal for so long.<br/><br/>To finish off the meal, I had decided to order some of their "Loukoumades". Put it this way, when it come to selling me a dessert, one of the buzzwords which gets me immediately is "doughnuts". That was the case here with the Loukoumades - they came in either the original, honey-based variety or a chocolate one. I chose the former, which as well as having honey was also dusted in cinnamon and sprinkled with walnuts. Again, these were also quite good. There was about six or eight of them, and they were round little balls, hot and fresh from the fryer thus soaking up the sweet honey really well. The walnuts sprinkled around them were needed to cut the down and offset sweetness a bit. What a great way to finish off, pity there was no coffee to accompany dessert. <br/><br/>Look here, the food is decent enough. Compared to competition that is near by - and I am talking about only Greek cuisine here - a few glaring problems do appear against it. Portion sizes are a bit on the modest side, and not the absolute best if you have an empty stomach. Overall, I would say that it is decent enough as an entry and it has a few aesthetic charms. Hopefully, with the effort they are putting in it gets enough of a following over the years. It will need some luck with West End just down the road; the family focus they have is a good advantage so far.

We Zac Zachariah tried the soft shell crab wrap and the chips with feta. The soft shell crab was pretty nice, but the size is not very big, which was a shame.<br/>The chips with feta was different and interesting. Although I am not sure I like the combo. Felt like it ruined both the chips and the feta.

Just coming back from Greece I had tried a variety of amazing to terrible gyros, and figured given the wrap Zeus had it would be at the better end. Unfortunately it was a massive disappointment. I ordered a pork gyros, and the bread was thick and doughy, waaay too much paprika and waaay too little tzatziki, which was pretty bland to begin with. The meat had no flavour, but it was cooked really well. And given the price it was far too small and under filled. It also was a pretty long wait given that it just needed to be assembled. Was super excited about finding Zeus but safe to say I don't think I'll be back and will probably tell people not to bother going either. Also the greek salad is a let down, so below average that it hurt paying $13 for it.

Zeus Greek Food got so damn hyped on Instagram that I was really excited to go. I assembled my food posse, Mr A, Dandelion, A*., and Manda. Unfortunately this was the day after we had that Storey Bridge event and so Dandelion and Manda felt too unwell to go and Mr A., was at work util 7.30pm so we were still waiting for him. A*., and I were the only ones left and we told Mr A., not to bother once we had eaten here.  I feel like I was the only person on Instagram who didn't get a wrap. Or that's how I would feel if I had gotten the photos on Instagram.

Orders are to be placed at the counter and while you’re waiting for your meal, you can have a quick browse at a corner that is packed with Greek products for purchase, such as Kalas Golden Greek Salt and dried oregano bunches. Or you can simply sit in your seat and get mesmerised by the smoke coming from the open kitchen as a result of the tantalising meat slowing turning on the spit.

Delicious fast Greek food. I love a pita wrapped grilled meat so they already had me hooked at the concept. Spartan chicken pita was super fresh and delicious. The feta and oregano chips were as expected, delightful and the corn on the cob with cheese grated over it, is superb. The service is efficient, if a bit lacking in personality.

Zoom into Zeus - the Almighty Greek Chain for pitas, dips and more. Just the smoky aromas from the spit-roasted meats was enough to make me drool! Wanting to try something unorthodox, we opted for the Soft Shell Crab. Wrapped in a thick fluffy pita, the combination of crunchy soft shell crab, fresh Aegean slaw, creamy lemon mayo, perfectly caramelised onion and sweet chilli was heavenly! True to its name, Zeus certainly blasted us away with his amazing pitas and spit roasts!

Last week my confidant and I watched Ant Man after work, but before the movie we opted to go for a quick meal before the film.  With the recent opening of Zeus, and a lot of online hype for it, we decided to give it a shot. Upon stepping in, we found the decor to be very Greek themed. I also liked how it was quite modern and chic.

I absolutely LOVED the Gyros here but honestly the serving is pretty small for the price you pay if I'm gonna pay over $10 for a wrap I would like to enjoy it for more than 5 bites. But it looks pretty 👍🏼

I tried Zeus Street Greek whilst attending the Regional Flavours Festival and thought it was quite nice, although not fantastic. I felt as though something was missing. Good, but not the best Greek food I've had.

I usually don't go out for Greek bc being Greek myself I have high standards and know how it should taste. The tyropita was good however the chicken gyro was plain, had no taste to it and you couldn't taste the tzatziki whereas the paprika was too overwhelming. Sorry but this was a fail.

Zeus has a great interior and it is very apparent that they have put a lot of effort and thought into their presentation, plates, boards, uniform etc, however it would be nice to see more effort in the execution of the actual food order. <br/><br/>Staff should be more attentive of customers at tables and food portions should be bigger given the price.<br/><br/>

Zeus Street Greek is a new eatery in Southbank that has had its official opening just this weekend. As the name indicates, it serves Greek food. Souvla (which describes the style of roasting) pitas, dips and breads, salads. The interesting thing for me about this place has been the marketing. It has been quite savy with its use of social media. Days before its opening, it had popular food Instagrammers putting up pictures of themselves making pita wraps in the kitchen. Instagram and other online lifestyle e-zines were also used to spread the word of their opening day on Saturday, and they lured the crowds in with free souvla over the lunchtime hours. We contemplated going along, but the anticipation of long lines and potentially rushed food was a deterrent. So we turned up the next day instead.

"Here is your gyro!" Wait... Where is the rest of my food?<br/><br/>Well seasoned and generous portions. Just ask to get the chips extra crispy; other wise it'll be soggy. Food was yummy so kudos to the chef. They really need to figure out how to get the food out together and fast. It took them close to 30min to get all of our food out (it was just the two of us and we ordered two gyros, chips, and a dip) other wise it would have been a 3.0-3.5

Best place in Southbank right now<br/>...........................................................................................................

We are so happy to see Greek cuisine taking off in Brisbane. Last year, we predicted it would become the next big food trend and it looks like the stars are FINALLY starting to align with the opening of Zeus Street Greek at South Bank. . What's not to love about Greek food? Honey Puffs, Feta Fries, Dips, Pita Wraps... No one does good food like the Greek's.

The food is delicious and what you would expect from a fast-paced Southbank venue. They need to work a little bit on their organisation as far as ordering, tables and staff direction goes but as I said, the food is yum. The pitas themselves could be a bit bigger for the price but if you have the oregano and fetta chips you will be filled up! Beautiful branding for takeaway but I was a little concerned with how much packaging there was.

Very slow service you order at the check in and if it is busy and you want to order a drink you need to wait in line again. They fail the basics of managing customers they told us they have only been open for 4 weeks . They do not have toilets if you need to go they point you to a dark alley very unsafe<br/>
