Fantastic local brew and food shop!! The food is by far the best quality I have had and the portion sizes are well worth more than you pay!!

Amazing breakfast and awesome coffee today at Carport Cafe in Cannon Hill! When we said "with bacon please" we forgot how generous the servings here are.... I am defeated by too much bacon for the first time in 48 years... �
Do yourself a favour if you live this side of town. This great local cafe has gone from strength to strength with great food and more staff to deal with the increased clientele. The meals, coffee & takeaway coffee is also super fast!
Have not been back over two and a half years so checked it out this morning.
It was not that busy when I arrived around 7:30am but then was full house after half an hour.
Order a flat white and the savory dish of poached eggs and smoked salmon. Food and beverage came to the table within reasonable time frame. The Genovese coffee definitely matches my palate and the savoury dish deserves my thumb up. I particularly love the sourdough, which is crunchy and thin to make it easy for consumption.
If the vibe is more relaxing (too many people walk past my table), a full mark review may be achieved.

Great service and healthy goodies. I stopped in for an English Breakfast tea and was impressed with how the Carport Cafe looks, the great service and the range of baked goodies plus the food on the menu. We’ll be back!
Fantastic fresh food. Great variety for gluten free and vegetarians. Coffee was perfect. Excellent atmosphere. And cosy inside area. Love the revamped old singer sewing machine tables. Adds character.
This is a really cool little place with an awesome vibe. The food is very reasonably priced and rather tasty. Good accommodation of dietary needs. My coffee was a quite ordinary- think they made it on soy milk or something. Service was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a try!
Hidden gem!!
This quirky little cafe in an out of the way spot in Cannon Hill is a real find. The coffee is excellent, the food is well cooked, the portions are generous and it's very reasonably priced. The cafe is in a carport and there is some seating outside in the leafy garden. The staff are so friendly so you almost feel like you are having brunch at a friend's house.
What an absolutely delightful little gem in morningside. The atmosphere is amazing. There is plants everywhere, which makes the entire experience so tranquil.
The food is always of high quality. It’s hard to find a cafe that focuses not only on the “wow” effect of presentation, but also places a higher emphasises ensuring FLAVOUR is present.

My brunch choice was eggs bene with bacon & it was wicked nice. Creamy hollandaise, thick layers of salty bacon, turkish bread and perfectly poached eggs. I loved that the two eggs each had their own piece of bread, rather than one sad little slice which is more the norm these days. So generous!
Husbandio’s spicy mince lived up to its name with fresh chilli pieces, pops of peas & corn, & topped with another set of textbook poached eggs which oozed their yolky goodness into the mix. A tasty carbless option & another substantial serve.
Fast, friendly service and fond farewells feel like you’ve dined with family in this eclectic, unique, homely cafe. Can see why the ever amazing Mandy Bernadette & MB recommend it so highly.

Those Monday Moments start again - as I travel to Murrerie to collect stock for work, I begin to sense my stomach making a signal. The grumbling starts...
I have no idea how I missed this cafe so many times... after reading all the great reviews, I couldn't wait to get inside and devour into some nice food and coffee. It was 9:45am and a few tables were already occupied by diners enjoying their morning cuppa.
To feed my hunger, I ordered the Eggs Benedict w/ Bacon and a Mocha coffee. My caffeine fix came out shortly, and it was divine! Served hot in a tall cup, consisting well-balanced coffee and chocolate flavours. I could possibly grab another shot next time, but very good either way! ☕️ 🙌🏻
The Eggs Benedicts w/ Bacon makes its arrival to my table. Straight away I took that mandatory photo and begin cutting into those poached eggs. Oh my, the yolks ran beautifully, it was eggcellent!! The Bacon was cooked to perfection, thick slices and served with a generous portion (the slightly crispy part on the fatty area was a big -thumbs up- !!) DELICIOUS!!! Turkish bread was lightly toasted, just the way I prefer it to be presented 👌🏻

I'm a creature of habit, so I hate when food isn't consistent. But not here! The food is always the same, delicious, mouth watering goodness!
I love their Eggs Benedict and Cheese Toasties.
Every single one of the staff are so lovely and friendly. They're always up for a quick chat and a laugh, and very attentive to everything and everyone.
For those of you with dogs, Blue Poppy is a dog friendly Café. They got water bowls and everything for your fur babies.
So next time you're around Morningside, make sure you pop in for some delicious food, amazing coffee and great company.
Third or fourth visit to the Blue Poppy and the coffee was amazing as always. Seriously cannot fault here, consistently smooth tasting and quick service!
Have also tried a few of their toasties, on our most recent occasion we grabbed their chicken cheese and aioli one. In the past, their toasties have been on sourdough - it seems like they’ve switched to Turkish bread which is a bit of a shame. Despite this, was still pretty delicious and would order again. The only suggestion I will make make for here surrounds their use of takeaway plates and containers. Seems a bit wasteful considering we and quite a few others were dining in and they seem to have washing up facilities. Regardless, will definitely be back as the coffees as so good!⭐️
My coffee was made at the speed of light and somehow in that miraculous speed at which these people operate, everything was perfect. The tall lady serving at the counter usually has a great pun involving my name which is absolutely hilarious. Food is spectacular, service is spectacular and the coffee is even better. I've had a rough week and the staff at blue poppy always have a way to keep a smile on your face. Never change your awesome way guys and gal's! You're appreciated!

I ordered dirty egg Benny was yummolicious. Great venue and the girl at reception greet you with a lovely smile.Didn’t get to dine but ate in my car in break.Such a beautiful place and people.Yes definitely coming back 🙏😊
The food is great and service is prompt. I just don't think it's great value for money.
Having said that I'm a bit of a cheapskate that doesn't enjoy breakfast places at the best of times.
This place is so consistent. Hot or cold beverages. Nice bites. Dog friendly. Always busy but I can always get a seat that's socially distanced and staff have a good sense of humour. Love it!
