Review Morrison Hotel - Brisbane

Mary Salvador
I would say quality of food is average. Came on a Friday night with a big group of friends. Waited 30-35 minutes for mains to be served but one of the server seems like she was guessing which steak is which šŸ˜…. She said ā€œrump?ā€ Then when a friend asked ā€œwhich one is eye fillet?ā€ - she then pointed at the same steak, and claimed it as eye fillet. (Which definitely was rump btw šŸ˜…) The other servers (ones that were serving drinks) was lovely!

Best steak place in Brisbane, and the whisky menu.. You have around 100+ bottles to chose from. Australian, Japanese, Scotland.. All the greats plus many more you haven't tried. About 7 different bottles of kavalan to sample too.

The portion was huge! The steak was a bit dry tho even I had medium rare wagyu and my boyfriend had rare one. It's still a good experience overall.

Delicious food great service good atmosphere. One of our favourite places, the steaks are the best around, every bite is a pleasure

We like the food here and usually arrive before the lunch/dinner time crowd to be sure of securing a car park. Most of our meals have been above average and service is relatively fast.

huge portions. some more healthy vegetarian options would be nice that have more taste. did not get any salads as they seemed over priced. the steamed vegies for a side was pretty plain but the potato was nice. better to buy more exy steak than the cheapest one as we found out. bit of disparity with when meals was coming out but overall and enjoyable experience and great to cater for larger groups as we had pretty much the whole roon private to ourselves :) the staff are all very friendly and pleasant to deal with šŸ˜Š

First class for: Quality Service Ambience Monday lunch. Great steaks and sources. Attentive and extremely polite staff. Excellent wine. But it was the crisp, perfectly steamed fresh vegetables that really won me. The Morrison destroys the local completion for service.

WOW. First time trying this restaurant and the FIRST time in my life a restaurant has ever cooked a streak RIGHT! Had the 400g rump medium rare. Cooked to perfection. So moist and flavourful. Mushroom gravy, The BEST I have ever had. This is now my favourite restaurant. I'm never going anywhere else for steak ever again. Thank you šŸ’•

Food was amazing, beer was great, would have been 5 star but the meals were brought out so far apart that 1 meal was finished long before the 2nd meal arrived. BUT, it was spectacular when it all got there.

My uncles had their wedding there and it was excellent! Great function room, excellent service and the food was delicious!! Highly recommend having a function at The Morrison:)

We just had a meal at this gorgeous pub. Such a wonderful cosy atmosphere and the meal was great, steak was cooked perfectly and that mushroom sauce is absolutely delicious. Will definitely come here again ļæ½

Amazing Just Amazing...We had a function for 60 people with the bar tab, pizzas and nibble platters and the team executed magnificently!!! 100% recommend the Morrison to all. The team are experienced and fun, nothing too much trouble to organize, piano room was a great venue with the wall paper being a talking point and the piano set up as our display table, the food was ON POINT! its hard for a team to be all rounders but the Morrison Hotel and team pulled it off and made our night great! We will be back and all of our guest commented on how cool the pub was! THANK YOU!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our steaks today especially your dry aged on the bone. Your staff are excellent and looked after us. #we'llbebacklol

We came here for lunch and I would come back here again in a second. The service by Blaine and Michaela was amazing, so friendly and helpful. As far as our meal my wagyu was so tender and I was recommended the mushroom sauce which was so good. Myself and my partner will definitely be back with our friends.

We have eaten here twice now and no complaints on the food, it was cooked to perfection. But! When booking explained we were going to a show and would two hours be enough time??? We were assured it would be! Well we had to eat pretty fast as we booked the table for 5.30 and were served our meals at 6.45 so on this night the service was pretty slow. But! The staff were very friendly and apologetic for the delay. On saying this we would eat here again but would leave ourselves a little more time.

I had the lunch steak with Dianne sauce today and it was beautiful. Cooked to perfection and I even had leftover sauce. Highly recommend it!

Thank you to all the staff at the Morrison for hosting our work Christmas party in the piano room on an extremely busy Saturday night (ashes) and having everything perfect. The food came out at the agreed time and it was awesome.
Andy Williams
Beer list impressive as it is the whiskey which is sensational. But the steak was disappointingly small for 300 g. The potato was bigger. The taste were good . the scallops entrees were dry
šŸ“
Found the steak average. The sides were not nice at all. The only saving grace was the mushroom sauce!
Michael Man
I ordered the dry aged steak which was $49. The overpriced steak was burnt and the salad had too much dressing. The only good thing was the double baked potato and the service.
David John
Entrees were worse than bad. Steaks were great, sides standard. Highlight was the service waiter was an absolute professional.

Came here on Fatherā€™s Day. Had booking at 7pm, ordered our food at 7.10pm. I was already expecting some waiting time on this particular day, but our food didnā€™t come until 8.15pm. It even took 25 mins for our beer to get onto the table which was quite disappointing.<br/>Other than that, food was amazing tho, like always. I like my steak rare and it was exactly how I like it to be. Mushroom sauce is the best.

I am in the minority surely, but definitely dislike the MH. Iā€™ve been here twice, with a small group of four and a larger group of eight -booked in, so they know we were coming. Service is shocking, the staff forget orders -drinks, food, sides and all-and donā€™t think to use a notepad or tablet. We constantly had to chase them on our orders. Food is overpriced and very mediocre with stingy sauces and garnishes on the side and over cooked steaks. Itā€™s very awkward to navigate to if youā€™re not familiar with the area and parking is sketchy at best-however, fairly expected in the area it is in but not for a restaurant of its size and reputation. Itā€™s boring pub food with a price tag of better restaurants. It has a great mushroom sauce but itā€™s not anything to write home about. You can split bills thankfully but there are no roaming eftpos machines so you have to move into the restaurant area to stand and pay at the end.

Steak was cooked to medium rare as requested. Chicken bao buns were delicious. Food was generally tasty. We were seated in the alfresco area which was nice however the glass panels must trap in the sound and became very noisy in the area. Wait staff are nice and polite but there must be some miscommunication with the bar staff. Only one drink came out when we ordered two. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

Took the promo of 30% off food bill promo and had a dinner at the Fiasco steakhouse last night. Due to the fact that we had steak for consecutive three nights so we preferred to order some other dishes on the a la carte menu. Ordered the oyster in Louisiana and Caramelized quail for entrees. Daily special of pan-fried barramundi and lamb cutlets for mains.&nbsp;<br/>Entrees came within reasonable timeframe. Oysters were presented in spoon with tomato, tobacco and bourbon but taste was not as good as the bloody Mary shot as we had before. Quail was caramelised well but slightly too sweet and size was not generous at all. Mains gained marks. Fish fillet was perfectly cooked with golden brown skin and lamb cutlet came with soft and juicy texture (if they are med-rare then it will be perfect).&nbsp;<br/>Overall, we don&rsquo;t mind to re-visit due to the fact that the friendly service is very impressive.&nbsp;<br/>&nbsp;<br/>&nbsp;<br/>Sep 13, 2015 &nbsp; Rating 4.5/5<br/>Had dinner at Morrison on Friday night. It was a busy night and I was so happy that I eventually had the time to visit this renowned Steak restaurant. Buffalo Chicken Wing was the best among other restaurants and so was the 60 sec Calamari. Culinary skill was good on all steaks, particularly the Wagyu Rump and the Dry Age Rib on the bone. The latter was the hero of the night and you must not miss to order it.

Steaks to die for... love the bacon wrapped eye fillet. Good beer selection, great service, best steaks in Brissy. A regular venue to compare all other steaks to!

I ordered the eye filets with potatoes and rocket salads. The steak is really nice. There is not too much people in the room but the atmosphere and music is good.

We had a lunch booking on Thursday and I'm glad we got there before the lunch rush. We were seated in the main dining area which only had one other table occupied. It didn't take us long to order as we knew what we wanted.<br/><br/>We started with oysters kilpatrick (12 for $34) which looked really dry when they came out. Luckily we were given plenty of lemon to rehydrate them... The 60 second calamari was a winner as usual. The plate was presented nicely and the trademark blueberry sauce is always a nice change.<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the dry aged rib eye ($49), eye fillet 200g ($33) and onion rings ($5).Ā  The rib eye came out on a board with portabello mushrooms, balsamic onions, cherry tomatoes and hand cut chips. The two steaks were ordered as medium rare but lacked consistency between the two. The rib eye was a touch under compared to the eye fillet. Let me be clear that i would much rather a steak that is cooked under as opposed to overcooked.<br/><br/>Ā The steak was seasoned well and the balsamic helped cut through the richness of the meat and mushroom sauce. By the way the mushroom sauce is the sole reason why we eat here. For many years we have tried to imitate the mushroom sauce at home, but it's never quite the same. The hand cut chips were awful. They were mushy AF on the inside and weren't crispy on the outside. Very poorly executed.<br/><br/>The eye fillet on the other hand was solid. Cooked and seasoned well with a tasty caesar salad accompanied by garlic bread. Obviously we got the mushroom sauce and it was exactly as we expected.<br/><br/>From many experiences at Morrison Steakhouse, i have noticed the steaks are always cooked better when the restaurant is less busy. On occasions where i have dined here on a busy night the steaks have been cooked poorly. Lucky for the mushroom sauce hey?<br/><br/>Overall i would still recommend this steakhouse and give it a 4/5 because the steaks were cooked well and the mushroom sauce is a banger.

I was so excited to have dinner at Morrison's again with my friends. When I ate here early in the year, it was fantastic.<br/><br/>Last night was really off-mark. Not only did the waitress not bring over any water when asked for it, she also told one of my friends there was no Bulmers cider on tap and she could not remember what beers they had! Another waitress then rushed over and said there was indeed cider. Friend 1 got his cider.<br/><br/>The pesto pizza flatbread came out and that was disappointing. It was like something rubbish you'd get at Domino's.<br/><br/>My 2 friends then received their Morrison's steaks. We sat and waited at least 15 minutes for my salmon before I told them to eat up - friend 2's steak was well overcooked and chewy but she was so hungry she ate it. I waited another 10 - 15 minutes then tried to get a waitress over; one young girl with curly hair saw me but actually ran off before Cody our server came over. Cody then had to chase my fish dinner. It came out greasy and watercress and pomegranates slapped on the plate. No sign of the quinoa herbed butter it was meant to come with. Our reservation was 7; this was about 830 I finally got food in front of me.<br/><br/>At this stage the manager came over and full compliments to him; sorry I didn't get your name - I really appreciated your customer service. The manager went and found the quinoa salad and was very polite and helpful, as was Cody.<br/><br/>I was very disappointed in my meal and I won't be trying Morrison's again. I am very glad my boyfriend was not with me, who is a chef! After an experience with bad waitressing and bad food like that, I am better off cooking my own meal.

We ate at the pub, the service was good. The salad was crisp and fresh with a pleasant combination of flavours. The steak was saddly a little lack lustre. It tasted ok but it wasn't tasty unfortunately.
Andrew
Have been here heaps and have never had a bad steak. Have tried most top steak restaurants in Brisbane and the Morrison seriously knocks them all out of the park. Fantastic steaks at reasonable prices and excellent service. Will be back plenty more times without a doubt!!

Last friday night my partner and i decided at the last minute decision to go to the morrison for something to eat. He order the 800gram grain feed steak and i order the 360g fillet mignon with chips and diane sauce and the food was to die for got exactly what we ordered and wanted. The steak was mouthwatering, services was excellent, waiters were amazing and helpful. <br/>We will be definitely coming back very soon hopefully. ā˜ŗ

Well known for their steaks, we dined and ordered the Eye fillet 200g and the Rump 400g. Steaks were cooked well and the mushroom sauce is the best I have ever tasted - they give you a huge bowl of it too! House potato was also delicious. Only con was that the chips came out slightly cold and Caesar salad could be improved but nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Staff were friendly and ambiance is a nice pub/bar feel. Would definitely return :)

I always have the same thing at The Morrison. Always! But toggle between the 180g eye fillet cooked medium with mushroom sauce or the parmi. And usually an entree of 60sec calamari that I can never finish. <br/><br/>The entrees are always super fast (and rightly so considering the housemates had the Louisiana oyster shooters) and sadly on this occasion the sauce for the calamari had changed- tastes ok but it used to be beautiful and vibrant blue/purple and tasted more complex. And the calamari was a bit oily. <br/><br/>Mains were the eye fillet cooked medium and perfectly-the Caesar was my choice and their chips.<br/><br/>The housemates had ribeye with pepper sauce house potato and salad. Their steaks were ordinary sadly. Grey with a few bar marks. The pepperjack Shiraz wasn't great - order the house red it will always be fresh!

Terrible service! Bar staff are rude! They don't seem to care about there patron! Toilets are dirty! Food was average and to expensive for what you get! Will not go back there, very disappointing

My rating is actually minus 5. We had booked a table for 17 people two weeks ahead of celebrating a very important milestone. Our name and mobile number were taken upon the booking too.<br/>Our table was set up in the far corner of a back room (naughty corner style) and next to the gambling area. We decided to leave soon after eating, due to lack of proper waiting service and due to the location of our table. I gave my credit card to my son so he could take care of the bill, not realising that the restaurant had just charged us for the drinks but not for the food. After the payment was done, our guests started saying their good byes, this took about 20 minutes till we all left. In this time no one came to say that we still had to pay for the food (note the level of waiting service and attendance to customers). Next thing we knew was that they had filed a case against us in the Police station, saying that we had walked out without making the payment. Four days of phone calls with their event management and their corporation (AHL Group), as well as calls with Police and visits to the Police station etc, it was proven that the mistake was theirs and that it was not our intention to leave without paying the bill. I ended up paying the balance in full without hearing an apology, none whatsoever. Their Event manager Michael kept lying into my face and permanently changing his version of the events (he's well trained in this as he can do so without blushing or getting nervous, not even slightly). These guys are unable to own their mistake and also unable to apologies. They ruined our celebration and also ruined my holidays in Australia. Plus they caused me having a residual Police File. Their area manager asked me to pay the bill so we could settle things, as she wanted me to have a good memory and also she wanted me to go back (???). <br/>They just care about money and they want every cent they can get. Do yourself a favor and eat / party somewhere else if you respect yourself and value your hard earned money. Anywhere is better than this appalling place (next to none). <br/><br/>

Service was not as great as expected. Sauce wasn't served along with our food after waiting for 45 mins. Food was not too bad but not worth the price. One of our steaks was a bit burnt on the sides.

Love the old fashioned decor, good food and relaxed service. Great spot for a steak and a catch up when in Brisbane. Superb steaks. <br/><br/>Always keen for a meal and a beer here, and a nice selection of single malts for after.<br/><br/>Addendum: the beef cheeks are superb, but avoid the chicken parmy - this is a steak house, eat beef!
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
I've been to Fiasco Steakhouse at The Morrison Hotel dozens of times over the past few years and have never been overly impressed with their steaks - good, but not great. Ā I used to eat here every 4-6 weeks, but it has been about eight months since I last dined here.<br/><br/>Today felt like a whole new dining experience. Ā I ordered the 300g Wagyu Rump, prepared medium, and it was wonderful. Ā The meat was tender and delicious and with one small exception the fat was beautifully rendered. Ā  I should note that the dining room was mostly empty, so the chefs likely had a lot more time to devote to each steak, but whatever the reason, it was great. Ā The steak was served with chips, salad, sauce and garlic bread for $39 and was very filling. Ā This rated a 4. Ā <br/><br/>My friend ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad with Anchovies and was quite pleased. Ā I don't think I've ever seen so many anchovies on a salad before.<br/><br/>Overall, this was the most enjoyable experience I've ever had at Fiasco Steakhouse.Ā <br/><br/>*****<br/>August 2016 - Rated 3.5<br/><br/>Good steak, but not great. I work nearby and eat here every 4-6 weeks. I've sampled most of the steaks, some of which are quite nice, but none of which compares with the quality and presentation you get at Stokehouse or Cha Cha Char. Then again, the Morrison isn't as expensive either. My main complaint here is that the steaks usually taste too much like 'char' and not enough like the beef, many of which are clearly very nice cuts of meat. The anchovy in the Caesar salad dressing is overpowering. Great selection of Whiskey (Scotch, Japanese, American, etc.). Highly recommend the Hibiki.

The attitude of the waiter tonight was appalling. He first missed our order (two meals) for my elderly parents. After I reminded him, he said, they are two minutes away. Then, he took probably anotherĀ 10 minutes to returnĀ to me to ask me whatĀ meals were missing. Ā It was extremely clear that he missed the order without acknowledging that. After that, we waited for another 20 minutes (by this time everyone else nearly finished the meals). <br/><br/>HeĀ then delivered the meals withoutĀ any intention to apologise.Ā <br/>I confronted him by askingĀ him he missed the order<br/>The waiter: "tonight, it was really hard to take orders in such a noisy environment, so I missed the order (he was implying it was out fault, we were all in the function room.)"<br/>Me: "my dadĀ has been extremely upset". <br/>The waiter: "I will get you the manager"<br/>Me:Ā "youĀ could have just apologised"<br/>The waiter: "I do apologise, it was just too hard to get the orders"...<br/><br/>How unprofessional?? HowĀ convenient is it for him toĀ blame it on the customers because they are too noisy?? I CANNOT recall last time being so upset in a restaurant.Ā I guess we just paid for $137 for very veryĀ unprofessional service tonight!

Too many beers for starters but did not have any trouble getting down the magnificent Graziers Rib Eye.<br/>Ordered it rare and rare it was. Succulent and tasty. The others in the group all had steaks and were complimentary with their choices.<br/>Well worth a visit.
T
Quite enjoyed the steaks. The prices were in the $30~ish range for the steak, chips and salad. Service is also good. Great little pub-like restaurant. Recommended

Always a great steak from The Morrison. We have big name steak houses closer to where we live but we haven't had a bad steak here before. I would recommend booking as it can get very busy.. Allow yourself time to park and walk also, the carpark fills very quickly.
Kan Do
Got a bit of a pub atmosphere with reasonably good steak meals, solid flavours with the pepper and mushroom sauces. A few other options available too with pizzas, salads and other mains. <br/>Not too expensive for a decent steak.

When we arrived we were left waiting to be seated for quite some time. One person was paying with someone who looked like the manager when we lined up. Another person came to pay and was attended to before us whilst several waitresses walked by us to set up and clear tables and completely ignored us. By the time a waitress came to serve us there were a couple groups lining up behind us. We ordered a bottle of wine but had the wrong one brought out to us. We were then left waiting while the waitress went to get the bartender to open the cork bottle as she couldn't do it. The service has really declined from what we were used to and we were really disappointed with the service, especially for an early Thursday night. Food was overall well received by the whole table. It's just a shame that the service brought down the whole evening. Will be on the lookout for a new regular steak joint.
MynameisFood.
One of the best steaks has always been here at The Morrison but it seems that their pepper sauce is still unbeatable. Of course, if you prefer your green pepper sauce or non-creamy pepper sauce, then this may not be for you and if so, do go for their mushroom sauce and you will not be disappointed. If you're not feeling like steak, don't worry.. as they offer many more dishes other than steaks including Wood fired pizzas, a wide variety of salads and mains such as Chicken Parmy, Beer battered barra, how about Beef cheeks 5 ways? Do try their The Morrison Parmy as they do a mean one..

Not allergy friendly.<br/>Ate here as part of a work lunch last week, ordered a steak with the menu indicated gluten free options and specifically asked them to pass on the gluten free request (as I am a coeliac) and was assured by the friendly wait staff they would pass this onto the kitchen.<br/>My first clue that I was going to get sick was the lack of attention to detail the kitchen paid appears to have paid to the orders ā€“ more than half the table received incorrect sides and/or incorrect sauce.<br/>The second clue was when my ā€œgluten freeā€ order with gluten free sides came with a big chunk of garlic bread on top of the steak.<br/>The third clue was when the waitress went to present me with the meal for the second try (I didnā€™t even see it this time) and said ā€œwhoops, thatā€™s not right again!ā€ and took it away.<br/>Finally I received my steak with chips and salad. I didnā€™t eat the chips because I assume most places wonā€™t cook them in a dedicated fryer. So my guess was it was the brown dressing on the salad that made me ill. Whatever it was, it was more than a couple of crumbs.<br/>Lovely friendly staff, steak was ok. Became sick despite my best efforts. Bit of a poor effort for $50 odd dollars. Half a star for the lovely waitress who tried.

Attended a few times here at the Morrison never disappoints. Fresh, steaks cooked perfectly. Great location for a beer/wine before dinner. Loved that dining area is separate from bar.. Winner šŸ‘šŸ‘

We are regular diners at The Morrison Hotel and generally food is great. On a couple of occasions, I have had medium steak cooked well done, only to be re-cooked and come out rare. Eventually the issue was fixed by helpful staff, but for a restaurant that prides itself on steak, it should be right every time. Extensive drink menu and prices are reasonable.
Chup
The food is good and the service is decent. Unfortunately even though they have great staff who are helpful and nice, they're always severely understaffed and busy. So that is the biggest issue when dining with them. However if you don't mind a bit of wait, you get a good steak with great sides and sauce (Diane and/or mushroom)

We went there as a party of 6, with my uncle and aunt visiting from Canada. I wanted to show them the most famous steak restaurant in Brisbane. Firstly, the parking was a let down. It s very difficult to find a parking place. My husband had no spot to park the car and had to wait until some customers came out from the restaurant and drove away. The place was busy when we arrived (at 7 pm) and we had to wait a while before we were greeted and seated down. The service, however, was good and the food was delicious. The young lady who waited on us was polite and friendly and her service was good and prompt. Hopefully they can soon find a solution to the parking problem. I am planning to go back there for my birthday.

When you ask the front desk for a table of ten and get "A walk in of 10, im not dealing with that" and walks off to let someone else to organise a suitable time. Thanks guys

not worth the hype. Was looking forward to trying this place for a long time but was unfortunately let down. We had a large group of us, and i was impressed that all the meals were coming out at the same time... that is until i realized they had obviously forgot about my Lamb skank, after waiting 7 mins and having a meal a few weeks back at a different restaurant being forgot about also, i didn't want to go hungry and have my party waiting for me to finish my meal when it finally did come. After flagging down the waitress, she hurried off and came back with my meal a few seconds later, with no sorry and just dumped in on my table. It had obviously been sitting there near the kitchen<br/><br/>The steak i tasted was nothing special, the hand cut rosemary chips/wedges i had were nice, and while my meal wasn't horrible i just found the whole experience not worth the price. the dessert is below average, and they came out at different times, how hard is it to have 3 sundaes come out at the same time? The brownie was nice, but again, i wouldn't come here again or recommend it at all
Betty & Jason
I had the rib eye fillet 360g and it was a perfect medium rare, juicy and tender. Service was prompt and friendly. I also had the James Morrison drink and it was delicious, though overpriced. The Caesar salad was not fantastic, especially the dry cheese and croutons made it hard to finish.. <br/><br/>I came back a second time and got the same steak but instead ordered a walnut and apple salad with blue cheese which was Devine! The house potato was heavenly and I definitely recommend it over the hot chips.
MsK
Have been here many times over the years and have still not found a place that has done a better mushroom sauce! I have tried to replicate it at home and have come close though. The steak can sometimes be overlooked to what you order but generally they come out as you like. The chips are always good too. Service was average.

This restaurant was absolutely terrible! The staff was unfriendly and poor service. <br/><br/>The steak was very ordinary!<br/><br/>2 out of 10!!<br/><br/>I will not come back again!<br/><br/>
ģ“ėƼģ£¼
The first restaurant that I will never ever go again because of the rude and poor staff service. <br/>They really need to train their staff.<br/>That short female staff really should see the doctor for her anger management.<br/><br/>Parking was an absolute nightmare.<br/>Steak was burnt outside.<br/><br/><br/><br/>

Parking was a massive inconvenience. Service was very poor, not professional at all. Staff weren't so friendly. To much mate going on. Cut of steak not the greatest. Very disappointing.
Jess
Best pub in Brisbane by far! My entire family came here for a birthday celebration, everyone was extremely fussy ordering alterations to all their meals, everyone wanted their steaks cooked differently and every single meal was spot on! We were all very impressed. The meals came out at the same time and were cooked perfectly.
Matthew Pitt
Food was good. Parking sucked and service was average, our group got seated befor 2 other tables who ordered and got there food served befor we did. Overall, for a good dinner, yes come for a good steak. For a pub it does have quite a good wine list.
Company_664
Great steak. Been going here on and off for a few years now. Fiasco's steakhouse is the only place that ive been to multiple times, but cant fault the food once. Had my steaks a few different ways, and its spot on every time. Parking situation sucks, always full and end up parking miles away and walking. What can you do though.
Ree
Fiascos steakhouse had excellent service and excellent steak. The steak was lightly charred to a delicately thin crisp on the outside and the inside melted like butter in our mouths. Will definitely be back here again with our steak loving friends. Just get there earlier at 5:30 to get an easy park.
Urban Eater
Really nice and the food lived up to its reputation but just a couple of negatives to throw in that might need some thought. My friend's salad was dry and desperately in need of dressing, maybe a small jug of dressing to use if wanted would be a nice touch. Also the brandy snap dessert, whilst delicious, was spoilt by the brandy snaps being way too thick so they were hard to break up and then required serious chewing which ended up ripping out one of my fillings. Overall though it was great and I will return.
Alexandra.filips
Brisbane's best. Been reading lots of bad reviews on here. I dine here frequently (once a fortnight )for the best steak ever - very flavorsome and normally cooked just how it was requested. Mushroom sauce is a must try and the house potato is out of this world - try it for yourself and don't let the bad reviews stop you!

Went to the Morrison today for good service and good steak... How wrong were we. All the steaks we ordered didn't come out how we wanted, the chef then makes the waitress come out to tell us we are wrong. I'm sorry but I know the difference between a medium rare and a medium to well done steak. Then get a replacement steak and it's blue and stone cold in the middle. Ask for our bill and wait half an hour and ask another waitress for the bill yet again. So go to the steak house if you want a bad steak and some crumy service. Won't be rushing back.
Susieplant23
Patience of saints. I have eaten at a few times before and always been impressed with their steak (and that mushroom sauce omg). but this time- their service was what stood out to me. i was a plus one at a going away dinner. we were a HUGE disorganised group and had trouble fitting in the room with about 7 extra unexpected people arriving and needing to be made room for. the staff, although (understandably) annoyed, didn't make a big deal out of it an just quickly and efficiently made sure we had space for everyone, as they slowly dribbled in. we were a true nightmare and they treated us with respect and professionalism and patience. my filet mignon was cooked perfectly (the salad was a little light on compared to usual times which was a bit disappointing because their caesar is incredible) but all tasted incredible as usual.
Samantha.johnson
Truly the best steakhouse in Brisbane. If you like consistently great steaks that are well-priced, with generous servings of sides then this is the place for you. The Morrison has served our crew very well for years - we visit at least once a quarter in a group of 10, and then again every other month for date night with my husband. Nowhere else in Brisbane that we have found is this consistently fantastic. Great service with a smile and plenty of other options for the non-steak eaters/kiddies.
Bon
Great steaks & great service. Went last night for the first time as this place gets pretty good reviews, and they were well founded. Me & hubby both had the eye fillet, easily as good as its other high-end steakhouse rivals (Norman, Pineapple, etc) and the mushroom sauce was amazing. Hubby was very happy with the beer recommended by the lady who took our order, as was I with my mocktail (sweet and sour). Service was quick & polite, meals appeared without much delay either. Glad we went, will be back!

Great food, awful management.. We booked a table for my partners birthday a week in advance only to be told by the sneering maitre de that apparently there was no booking in our name - he was rude and could not have cared less. Very reluctantly we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant - a table where a blinding spotlight shun in the faces of our whole group. It got to the point where it was intolerable to sit there being blinded any longer and we were about to leave (that's how bad it was) but on seeing a table that had become vacant we asked our waitress if it was possible to be moved. She was extremely helpful and accommodating and made sure the table was cleared quickly so that we could take our seats and finally order. The food was simply brilliant - perfect steaks with delicious sides, and of course the mushroom sauce which lived up to its name. We ordered mocktails and cocktails - all of which were excellent and very well priced. Much as we all enjoyed our steaks, the highlight of the meal was the desserts - the brandy basket in particular! Although at first it seemed as if our night was going to be ruined, our waitress (I wish I had got her name because she really was absolutely terrific) made sure we had a great time and enjoyed our meals. One thing I will also mention is that it took 40 minutes for our first round of cocktails to arrive - we were told that they were understaffed that night so we did not bother ordering any more drinks after that. The food here truly is excellent and we will definitely be back for more, but the management is rather poor and has a lot to work on.

Ordered my entree and two mains. Forgot about the entree and only received the mains. Steaks were rare not medium. Had to pay $7 for the 'table service'. Disappointing as it was my birthday

Consistantly Awesome. I have eaten here many times. I think its the best steak restaurant in Brisbane. never once has it failed me. The service is quick and the meals are delicious and value for money. I will definitely return
Mia Thannhauser
Will definitely be back again... Great service and food came out extremely quickly and was fresh and tasty. Mushroom sauce is amazing... Don't go without
Asiazhang
So excited to try this restaurant however it was such a disappointing experience and we left as fast as possible. Weren't offered water and drink menu. Our drinks never arrived even asking two times and medium rare steak was very rare. Customer service was a huuuuuge let down, couldn't even get hold of a waiter most of the time. Probably won't be back...
Littlebulletcrazy
Customers service should be retrained. The foods were good as usual. However the customers service have to be improved. Probably the waiter wanted to finish cleaning up the dishes and go home, but it's a bit rude to take away the dishes when there were foods still on the table and the customers were still eating!!!
Mike
Mushroom Sauce is as great as I heard it to be. We last night with some friends for the first time. Hands down best mushroom sauce I've ever had. The food came slowly, took around 30 minutes, but I it was good.

Not the steakhouse it used to be!!. I have lived in Brisbane for 8 years and must have eaten steak at this place more than 50 times. It used to be my favourite place in town to go for a steak and I used to agree with the slogan "best steaks in Brisbane" but unfortunately I don't agree anymore. Have a eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks and not enjoyed my meal either time and I will be very reluctant to go back again now. I like my steak medium rare and ordered the 300gm rib fillet which came out looking nice but when I cut it, it was stone cold in the middle and mostly completely raw. Today I went back for a friends birthday and ordered the 300gm rump for a change again medium rare but it came out very well done. Due to this it was soo tough I literally couldn't chew through it. I'm not one to complain so I still ate most of it and when the manager came to see if everything was ok I told her and she agreed that the steak was a little over cooked and claimed that it was medium. It was worrying that the manager was unable to identify the difference between a medium and well done steak when sliced open. If a place that claims to be the "best steak house in Brisbane" cannot cook steaks properly I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Far from the steakhouse it used to be.

GLUTEN FREE BEER - apart from great steaks, the friendly staff organised to order in some gluten free beer (O'Brien Pale Ale). Great service and delicious food (and beer I can drink)!

Tonight was the worst I have had. I spent $232 on food. the stake we ordered was supposed to be blue. my stake was so dry plus no fresh taste. didnt even gave my friend salads. all of our stake was so bad we could barely swallow.will not go back.need better services

Pacificblue. A year and a half since my last visit. Had a great steak on a business week day. Visited today (public holiday). Been visiting this restaurant for well over 20 years and always enjoyed the 60 sec. calamari - not today! Chewy (membrane still on),cut way too thick and the batter coating had a very stale mouthfeel and flavour. My wife had an Eye Fillet special - the steak was cooked perfectly but had a peculiar and not entirely pleasant taste. My rib fillet was also cooked nicely to medium rare - unfortunately the piece of meat was total rubbish and not what you would expect to ever get through the door of an establishment promoting itself as a top steakhouse. A tough, chewy, gristly, fatty chunk of rib fillet that wouldn't pass muster as a public bar $9.95 special, but being sold as a $32 gourmet, aged delight. We normally have our steaks at another place 10 minutes up the road (Brilliant!) but thought a re-visit to Fiascos would be a pleasant change - not so! I pointed the problem out to the waitress (she could see I hadn't eaten my steak) who had 1/2 the cost of my meal deducted from my bill. Thoughtful and generous, but will never make up for a very average restaurant experience.

Always enjoy the meals here at the Morrison however went before the AFL last Saturday & was disappointed with the service. I ordered prawn toppers with my steak which didn't come out with our meals. I had to ask 2 separate waiters what was happening, the first stating he would bring it straight out, then went back to serving other tables, as I wasn't sure if he forgot, I spoke with the senior member & said not to worry about it so I could join my friends eating who replied "it'll be out in 2mins" in a disturbed tone. He then reappeared saying "tada" before slamming it on the table. My friends & I were shocked and put off by the service. We ordered another round of drinks which never showed & I felt sorry for the young lady who appeared to be managing the restaurant has she didn't have great support. Although the food was nice I think we'll heading to the pineapple for pre game meals in the future.
Fantastic Fizz
Most of the people in my party had the steaks and they were perfectly cooked and delicious!! The 60 second calamari felt like it was a 90 second calamari and the barramundi was very tasty. The Saturday night entertainment in the bar was pretty dire. All in all would go back to eat again but not for drinks.
Meng Tsai
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Following my cousion's recommendation of this place. and yes, as she said the best steak place in Brisbane. I've ordered the eye fillet 200grm and got 60sec calamari as second topper with the mushroom sauce which was the best thing to match the steak. My partner ordered the chicken pizza was absolutely nice as well, he says he is gonna take his colleagues to here. Definitely would come back here next time I visit Brisbane.
Maddi Johnson
Steaks were ok for a place that prides itself as a 'steak Restuarant' chicken Parmie lacked good flavours and was drowned in tomato paste. Service tried hard they were super busy w not many tables to wait on for a quiet Saturday lunch. Over priced for what it is. Will go elsewhere for a quality pub grub feed.
Karen Nackers
Same old generic flavours. Everything is seasoned with chicken salt from the 1990's.. Now you get a choice.. Chicken salt seasoning or chilli.. The whole menu needs a revamp.. So boring.. Couldn't pick anything to eat and when I did.. I was so disappointed..
Forwhatitsworth
Was hoping for a great meal based on others recommendations. Ordered some entrees which were really nice but before we were half way through the entrees, the main meal arrived???<br/>By the time we finished entree, the mains had started to cool and could have done with a break between courses. My rib fillet was okay whilst partners eye fillet was superb. Overall, good food but no spoiled by timing

Steakhouse?. So, I was in the mood for a top steak in Brisbane. Googled around and found the Morrison Steakhouse with a pack of glowing reviews. Ironically you are reading a review to say DON'T always trust reviews.<br/><br/>Service was good, but way too fancy for a pub between a freeway and a construction site. Food was waaaaay overpriced and the rib-eye steak, although cooked right was as chewy and fatty as any old cheap supermarket cut. They didn't offer a leaner grass-fed option either which is what I was after and went there expecting.
Master Critic
By far the BEST STEAKS in Brisbane, the 60sec calamari with blueberry dipping sauce is a must also. Staff are friendly, all round good family atmosphere AAA+++

I dont eat steak but I love this place!!. My partner is a big steak eater and mentioned to me how much he loves the Morrison Hotel. After viewing their menu online to see if there was anything I could eat (I dont eat steak) I decided to give it a go with him. The first time I went I had a a chicken schnitzel which was pretty impressive. However last night was amazing! Service was fantastic and my food - oh my god - best meal I have had in a long time. I had the 'Chicken a La King' and I couldnt put my fork down. The crunchy chat potatoes were a hit. I cant wait to see you again Morrison!

Craving for more. Great steak!! A bit expensive but totally worth it. Love the mushroom sauce. Will recommend this to any steak lovers.

Had the most amazing steak today service is awesome really really good pub food!

Great mushroom sauce steaks not as good as I remember

Love this place!! Food was Devine, staff friendly and didn't have to wait for food to come out. Happy customer :)

Unbelievable ! In a good way. What can I say....great steak, great calamari and great service ! Parking a bit of a headache but well worth it for the friendly old school service. Simple business that does it well and the best Whiskey range I have ever seen !! Will be back soon !!!
The Invisible Food Critic
Honestly speaking, their food is fairly average with a high price tag. Oyster shots were a huge disappointment and steak was not better than any local RSLs (sometimes even much worse). Parking is terrible and even though it's a nice place for gatherings, the most I can rate is 5/10 for being average.
Steve Tyrrell
Best consistent steak restaurant in Brisbane after 15 years eating there. Meat cooked to perfect, Diane and pepper sauces are standouts, chips chunky, Caesar salad spot on, food always hot, love Camembert pizza bread side, calamari insane with blueberry sauce, bit awkward to get there and park but worth it. Meat Mecca

One of the beat steaks in brisbane

Wayne beef is so outstanding so is the salad and baked photo! I went there so many time fav place to have steak

Previously a fan of a Morrison steak, I must say, this has place has definitely fallen off its pedestal. Tonight weordered a chef special of coconut prawns to start which was quite nice but its the steak we went there for and that's what I was looking forward to most. My medium rare eye-fillet was tender yet completely tasteless with none of that juicy goodness oozing out which leads me to believe they've skimped on the quality of meat. Accompaniments as always were generous and what you would expect from a pub but it was definitely the first time I've ever preferred my salad over my steak. Maybe it was just an off night and I suppose I'll give it one more chance - I just hope they get their act together before this Brisbane icon becomes a sham!
Carpathian777
Well worth a visit. Steak was fabulous, best Ive had for a while- cooked to perfection and meals are very generous. Service was fantastic
James Bearlin
Severely disappointed.. After googling best steaks in Brisbane and having The Morrison Hotel mentioned in numerous lists, i was looking forward to eating there. Maybe the anticipation was my downfall because the food and the experience was disappointing to say the least. <br/>I ordered the 300gm rib fillet cooked rare. That was delivered cooked without love with fat hanging off it. But the main let down was the pathetic chips and the caeser salad served up to accompany the steak. All up i got about 7 whole chips the rest were little over fried scraps covered in some sort of tex mex powder.. And the caeser was limp unloved lettuce covered in too much parmesan. This is a whinge but when you claim to be one of the best then deliver it. I could do better at home.
RC
Great food! liked the mushroom sauce! NO service AT ALL!!! For the price of the food, at least check back on your customer and have some smiles on your face!!
Lisa Liu
Good Steak. The steak prepared here is absolutely delicious, and the steak meals are LARGE - generous amounts of fries and salad are given. I heard the quality wavers a bit though
Stc91
Best steak I have had. Service is good, could be a little more friendly. Would be good if they offered Mash Potato & Veg, however you don't eat at a steak house for the sides. Great wine list to.
Herperderp
Yup!. Setting is modern, intimate and clean. Steak dishes come with chips/potato and side salad. LOVE the mushroom sauce but never order well-done or medium well-done. They seem to always cook it a little too long and it becomes completely burnt... COMPLETELY BURNT... BLACK BURNT. Prices are average around $30 for a steak dish
Mayday Boy
See title. Rude staff, especially the manager. Here's a tip. Don't give me an attitude when paying for our meals. Yes we're paying separately, is there a sign that says we can't?<br/><br/>We spend good money to eat at the place. Certainty won't be going back any time soon.
TTG
Tick!. Good stuff! I prefer this over The Norman or The Pineapple on the southside. Mushroom sauce is amaze!

I find it funny that I see so many bad reviews. I've been going to the morrisons for years now and it's never disappointed. The steaks taste great and have consistently been lovely. Oh well I guess restaurants have bad days.
Hamish The Opinionated
After a business lunch that could have (should have) been a long arvo of relaxing, I will come back. Why? Because the steak was bloody good. Best in Bris? maybe
Mdrisc
Steakhouse...seriously??. After visiting The Morrison once earlier in the year, decided to go again.<br/><br/>Second time around was VERY disappointing. Calling this a "Steakhouse" is a hard sell when I'm not sure they know how to prepare a steak at all.<br/>Service was passable, waitress was shocked with the state of my meal. Full refund as expected and a round of drinks, free of charge.<br/>Final verdict, overpriced, undercooked!
Cjturner
Terrible service! Steak wa.... Terrible service! <br/>Steak was OKAY but certainly not up to scratch for a steak house.<br/>Side options were two salads and chips or potato and when we requested veggies instead it was a flat "no" <br/>We waited an hour for our meals after ordering and some steals were overdone. <br/>I wouldn't overly recommend it. Could get similar from a pub for half the price.
Caroline
The food is overpriced. Table service for the drinks was obviously too hard for the staff considering mains came out before all of the drinks.
Laura
Food was okay. Over prices. There are issues with the drinks, got food before drinks.

Let's be quick. Since I am too lazy to do an in depth review, let's be quick. <br/>Very professional business, professional staff/service, can't go wrong with the steak there(mushroom sauce is a must), good interiors and good atmosphere. I ain't complaining

What a surprise!. Haven't been to the Morrison for years, and wasn't overly excited to be going again...<br/>We arrived and were shown to our tables immediately by professional friendly staff, drink orders taken (great drinks list, lots of variety) and they arrived pronto! Friday night and the place was packed, so we were thinking our orders would take FOREVER to arrive...not so!<br/>Oyster shooters were delicious, chilli prawns succulent and so well-seasoned (actually not afraid to use a bit of chilli) and the steak was phenomenal (medium rare, cooked to perfection). I don't know how they did it, especially considering how busy they were but service was soooo smooth....obviously well trained staff and great management. We'll definitely be heading back there soon!!!
Lucy
Great value for money but the food is not great.. Steak is charcoal..
Sotiris Sargis
Wild. Great steak
Jessica Darr
I've always loved the food here, esp the mushroom sauce. However, the service is horrible. I haven't been back because of it. The last 3 times I went there was some sort of issue with the staff / service. Very dissapointing I don't think they understand the concept of customer service.
Courtney
After looking forward to enjoying a nice meal out we were very disappointed. Terrible terrible service. Waiters not attentive at all including forgetting to put our entree order in. Slow service too with our main meals coming out well over an hr after ordering. Would have been better and quicker if I had of taken my own order and cooked it myself.
AJ13
Good steak, well priced. This place is reliable and well priced. Right up there with some of the steak restaurants in brisbane (and better than a few!) the Morrison's steak house is great value for money and generally really great service too. Parking is a pain but you can't have everything. Wine list is also a bit limited and a little overpriced...
Nina Will Eat
Its just a pub steak. Not restaurant quality steak. mushroom sauce tastes good but looks packet made. pub steak standard- 8/10. restaurant steak standard - 4/10

Recent change of heart. Ever since my first visit to the Morrison a couple of years ago I have raved about it to friends, family and work collegues from down south for when they visit. I myself dont eat steak but have always been in love with the Chicken Parmigiana and my visitors have always been happy with their steaks etc.<br/>The thing that sets this place above the rest are the small things - ceasar salad instead of regular, wedges instead of chips just making it seem that bit more fancy for the price. The meal sizes are also more than enough. The best thing is the mushroom sauce by far - I always ask for a side to have with my wedges.<br/>With visitors and birthday lunches I have visited 3 times in the last month and was notified that there would be a menu change when I queried why my chicken was different, I visited before and after this change however now think a little bit less of the Morrison. With their new chef or whatever it is that triggered the change comes different and modified meals and a pricier night.<br/>My chicken parmigiana normally $22 has turned into a $25 herb and parmesan chicken schnitzel (pretty sure its smaller too) - and was corrected by the waiter when requesting my regular meal. - although when delivered it was set down as a parmigiana...<br/>The service is always good however on a couple of occasions when I have booked (I book on every visit) I have been advised that there is no listing of my booking making it seem like an inconvenience to seat me. The worst thing is the parking so I always make sure to arrive early to avoid being left nowhere to park.<br/>Unfortunately I have been a bit disheartened by the changes and will not be as willing to go when looking for somewhere to eat next time - if it aint broken, dont try and fix it...
Lauren Jayne Prestwood
Going Downhill Fast. I loved this restaurant so much the first three times I visited. The steaks were perfectly cooked and I absolutely love the 60 second calamari. However, the last two experieces have been terrible. Both times my steak was so undercooked. I ordered medium well both times and my parner ordered medium. Both our steaks came to our table very rare. I hate to send food back but this could not even be eaten. So disappointed.
Lucy And Sam
The Worst Steakhouse in Brisbane?. This has to be one of the worst steakhouses in Brisbane! And my reason are...<br/>- The service was slow and unhelpful, it felt like the staff actively avoiding making eye contact...<br/>-advertised specials were not only unavailable but staff had never even heard of them...<br/>-The T-Bone steak was not a restaurant quality cut, more of an end cut missing most of the bone... lots of gristle!<br/>- the chicken Parmigiana was in-fact a disfigured chicken breast stuffed with cheap ham and over-powering cheese.<br/>- baked potato was actually mashed potato that someone has wasted their time first hollowing out and then pushing neatly back in original casing... a waste of time? I'd say this could very well be why one meal came out twenty minutes before the other!<br/>-The mushroom sauce was admittedly quite good and this is why I am giving them 1 star out of 5.

Yummy for my tummy. Great steak house, I highly recommend
Cynthia Mapelton
Average steak. So many people say this place makes great steaks<br/>mine was dry and tasteless<br/>thank god i had some sauce to drown it in<br/>a good steak should have that bbq flavour, not just cooked meat
SB
Seriously the best steak in Brisbanew
Derek
Good steaks and fantastic mushroom sauce! However, my last 2 visits were disappointing. Steak wasn't cooked well and was slightly burnt on both occasions. But I am willing to go back as these experiences were a while back now.

Best of the Best. Morrison/Fiascos is easily the best pub steak in Brisbane.<br/>I attend this place every other week and have never been dissapointed. I dont mind budgeting for a massive meal with Calamari Toppers and a drink for $40. After trying nearly every possible steak in Brisbane this place takes the cake and a vast majority of my "aussie, beer drinking, steak criticing mates" have agreed. *Side note - Morrisons Mushroom Sauce cannot be beaten.
The Committee
High quality steak. Relaxed atmosphere. Great bread. Great calamari with blueberry sauce
Greg Bishop
Greg Bishop. Look the steaks are great and consistent. The service however is borderline atrocious. I don't think I have seen so many employed people achieving so little. Not only I but fellow patrons getting up from their respective tables to go to the bar because the waiting staff are not tending the tables. I watched with wonder as the staff visited numerous tables trying to find who ordered the food. For god sake don't ask for a specialty beer less you get attitude from a petulant waitress! There are plenty of other options.
Chaubii
Better steak elsewhere. Very dissapointed after I heard so much praise from my friends. Had two bad expereiences in a row. <br/><br/>First time my partner and I went there our steak was overcooked. We both ordered medium-rare eye fillets. The outside of the steak was so charred that I could not taste the steak at all. When we asked the waitress we were told that "that's how it suppose to be". I've had char-grilled steak before and I know that a little char gives the steak more flavour but not to the point where you can no longer taste the steak. We thought that perhaps this was a once off bad experience so to be fair we decided to reserve our jugdement until we went a second time.<br/><br/>Second time around my partner ordered the eye fillet and I had the Wagyu, both medium-rare. Our steaks took 55mins to come out. The tables were full but they were not extremely busy. They were more hectic during our first visit but still managed to bring out steaks out in an acceptable time. When our steaks finally did arrive they were very chewy. For an Eye Fillet and a Wagyu steak both cooked at medium-rare this is unacceptable. Felt like I was chewing on rubber. <br/><br/>After being there I can not see what the fuss is about. Compared to similiar steak places like the Norman Hotel, Normanby Hotel, Regatta and even Hogsbreath the steaks at Morrisons aren't as great as everyone says. For the same price you would be better off going elsewhere.
JF
Consistently exellent. Always great steaks! Do you need to say anything else
Kris.C
Mushroooooom sauce. Steaks are quite good but the best thing about this place is the mushroom sauce!!
Jessica
My steak was overcooked, they gave me the wrong sauce and the Caesar salad wasn't great. Not worth my 30 bucks.
Jim
I like this place, but it's a little expensive for what you get. The steaks are good, but not the best in town. <br/><br/>Nice to get a house red for $5!<br/><br/>You have to book for this place as it always fills up.<br/><br/>Good local for a meal.
Steven Dudley
Best Overall steak restaurant in Brisbane. They do the most amazing roasted potatoes with the main meals, here it's best to go with this option rather than chips.
Ilovefood
Great steaks! Looove the mushroom sauce.
Kurt Gregory
Steak. Best steak in Brisbane. That's all that needs to be said.
Kate King
Best steak in Brisbane. Have eaten here loads of times and have never had a bad meal. Steak is always cooked to perfection. Caesar salad is delicious and the garlic bread is awesome. My husband and I always recommend the Morrison to anyone who'll listen. Love it!!

With a craving for Steak, I was deciding between Breakfast Creek Hotel, Norman Hotel and Morrison Hotel. In the end, Morrison won out due to its relative accessibility. Having recently walked to Wagaya and back from the CBD, I thought it would be an easy job to walk to Morrison Hotel. I was wrong. It was an exhausting walk.Ā  Having made a reservation earlier on, we were promptly served and given a table. The walls were decorated with interesting quotes (the dim lighting meant my camera didnt capture it very well...) The menu consisted of two pages, one being purely dedicated to steak, and the other side had a selection of pizza, other mains and sides. After the long walk, we were quickly provided with table water to drink whilst making a decision on what to order. My friend ordered the Crispy Pork Belly. As it was set down, I noted how it looked remarkably like the roast pork that one orders in those Hong Kong style BBQ places. Luckily for me, I also got to taste it, and it was just as good. The meat was well flavoured despite being very thick, and the skin was crunchy without being overly hard. My other friend ordered the Barramundi and Chips. Apparently the batter was light, both the fish and chips were crunchy and the fish was nice and fresh. Whilst my two companions didnt order steak, it was the main reason why I had gone to Morrisons. I ordered the Rib Eye on the bone, with chips and caesar salad and pepper sauce. The steak itself was wonderful, cooked rare, just the way I like it. It was tender and juicy, but not overly fatty. The texture was particularly nice, just as you would expect from one of the best steakhouses in Brisbane. However I do think the salad could have done with more sauce and bacon bits though. During the meal, we also ordered drinks, my Watermelon Cucumber Cooler was wonderfully refreshing in the summer heat. I had a

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Morrison Hotelā€™s first whisky dinner of the year, held last Friday 9 May 2014. The invitation also extended to my social group Brisbane Social 20s and 30s and three others attended with me. The theme was bourbon vs whisky, a debate-like presentation featuring Buffalo TraceĀ  (American bourbon) and Bruichladdich (Scotch whisky), both brands under the Southtrade umbrella. Ticket price was $65 and included a tasting of 5 bourbons, 5 whiskys and a 4-course meal. My main interest was in the food and I was also looking forward to a bit of education on bourbon and whisky. The dinner was scheduled to start at 7pm and I arrived at the Morrison about 45 minutes early. The Morrison is situated on Stanley Street, on the corner of Allen Street, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Mater Hill bus station. There is on-site parking. I walked into the main bar area from the Stanley Street entranceĀ and it was brightly lit with severa

This was my first time going to the Morrison but it sure won't be my last! This place has some of the BEST steaks in Brisbane. A fact my partner had shared with me on many occasions so I was excited when we happened to be in the area and decided to drop in. The food was mouthwatering.
TWARH
Morrison's never fail to satisfy. Still one of the best mushroom sauces I've had. This time around it was for a 21st birthday and a friends and I had a feast.
Hiyuki
...tried the whole menu of steaks and cuts. We recommend the Graziers Rump, Rib Fillet, Porterhouse and the Eye Fillet. I've tried the Wagyu Rump once, and it was slightly disappointing. I though it didn't taste like Wagyu. But hey, I've never had the real thing from Japan, so I might be wrong. I would like to try the Wagyu Sirloin one day... if I ever win the lotto.

Meat: cooked well Bread: crunchy garlic bread Salad: good caesar salad<br/>Sauce: good mushroom sauce Side: Awesome cheesy baked potato!!!!<br/> <br/>

Overall, Morrison Hotel is quite amazing for steak! As for their other dishes, it might be a hit-or-miss.

Prices are also reasonable for your serving size. Parking is limited, so get in early, or pay for parking around the corner. I'm definitely a regular here!

The Morrison The Morrison is without a doubt, my favourite place in Brisbane, possibly the world, to have a steak. At the Morrison you can get a rump, steak, eye fillet or even a fillet minon teamed with a Caesar salad, beer battered chips, a whole bowl of mushroom sauce with a piece of garlic bread on the side. I dream about this meal often, it is death row worthy.
Hooi
All the males in the group ordered steak. They cleaned their plates until strikingly clean (well, sort of). So, I am guessing that they must be pretty good.
YunYun Xu
Oysters... specials of $1 Natural and $1.50 Kilpatrick oysters we just couldnt resist! ....They were absolutely fresh, creamy and tasted fantastic both ways.
Desmond Roseboom
Overall it was a pleasant lunch but I would not be singing its praises: it was almost exactly the same as any pub steak and therefore not worth going out of my or your way for
Cora Chen
I was very pleased with my experience at The Morrison. I'm naturally skeptical about steak from pubs because more often than not, they are worst than what I can whip up on my bbq. The wagyu I tasted was a really good cut of meat and also cooked to my liking. Service got a bit hectic at one point but we it wasn't enough to distract from my meal.
