Best fish and chips I've ever had. The smell of greasy fish was fantastic. Annnnnddd the service was amazing there was an employee who's name was sErge and just yes he grooved

Tried coming here on Anzac Day and the queue was out the door so we gave it a miss. Much quieter today though still a steady flow of mostly takeaway customers.
Plenty of seating inside, where our group enjoyed a 6 piece family pack of snapper and barramundi ($72), served with (12 large rings of) calamari, (copious amount of) chips, and lemon wedges. Very satisfying.
Today was our second time at Shelleys & we once again enjoyed it. Four mums & eight kids make a hell of a noise but they didn't blink an eye. So good not to feel uncomfortable & unwanted. The servings are big & the quality it great. To top it off they have a kids play room, which is always a winner! Thanks, I'm sure we'll be back again!
So I lasted as a vegetarian for four years - but have succumbed to my love of fish and chips and now have to call myself a pescetarian. Shelly's to a pretty decent fish and chips. We visited lasted weekend and had the crumbed cod and calamari which were both really yummy! I found the chips to be a bit too greasy but definitely still edible. Beautiful location to walk across the road and eat your meal with a view. Will be back!

Been coming to these guys regularly on Sunday arvos. Service has been fast and food is good but 4 times out of 5 there always seem to be 1 item missing off the order. Mainly the pineapple fritter. Always seem to miss that one. Other than that food is good but no trawlers!

After a quiet night in for NYE, we decided to explore Shorncliffe on New Years Day. Starting to feel peckish for some lunch, so and again we used our trusty Zomato app to find a good place to eat in the area. We decided on Shellys Inn in Sandgate.
Now, some of the reviews are negative, but most were positive.
Now let me say New Years Day was a stinker in Brisbane, and as we walked in the first thing that was obvious was no air conditioning!! Second thing I noticed, no one seemed to care that it was hotter inside and the queue to order was quite long (a good sign).
So, we decided to grab take away fish and chips and sit under the beautiful Moreton Bay figs across the street and catch the breeze.
Deciding on the Pack for 2, comprising of 2 crumbed cod, 2 crumbed scallops, 4 calamari, chips & lemon wedges for $26.
To my hubby and myself, how they cook the cheapest fish is the mark of a good fish & Chippery! By the time I walked across the road, found us a shady spot, my hubby was returning with our meal wrapped in traditional butchers paper!
We were certainly not disappointed with our decision. Everything was cooked to perfection with the standout being the scallops! So soft and moist, they melted in our mouth! The cod were a very good size (no skimping here😉)
For $26 we were absolutely full and not feeling stodgy and full of greasy oil afterwards.
4/5 given purely as the dining area had no air conditioning, otherwise it would of been 5/5!!
A another little gem that I will definitely be returning.
My last fish n chip meal was Fishmonger Sandgate, put me off for a while. Tasteless, production line food and an owner who has no boundaries, talked uninvited about himself our whole meal.
No such BS at Shelly Inn today, beautiful, peaceful, waterfront location, impeccably clean dining area, with all the charm of a historic building. Huge portions of cod, chunky chips and tender calamari expertly cooked. Good, fast service with size suggestions appreciated. Just really good old fashioned fish n chips at a reasonable price in a unique location. Well worth our drive to Shorncliffe.
Fish and chips nicely cooked and good quality. Red Emperor $7, Snapper $8 with an extra small piece of Snapper thrown in free. Fast service. Will return.
Awesome!. Great feel to the place. Laid back atmosphere by the creek. Service is always friendly and the chef is great to chat to. Food comes out under 10 minutes and the potato cakes are fantastic. Would certainly recommend.
We like this place and often get take away however occasionally manage to score the prime table on the verandah near the street corner - nice breeze and great people watching while getting your fish and chip fix in. Reasonable prices and wait times aren't too bad. Gets busy on weekends and public holidays so best to get in before 12 for lunch.
Very clean and friendly staff. The hamburgers are to die for....just like the old fashioned style....not like the McDonalds rubbish. Great food all around Potato scallops were magic. Lovely to be able to eat beside the water. I definitely will be going back.
Service was friendly. Parking adequate. Ambience is welcoming with a great view of the bay. Fish was fresh but sadly my salmon was overdone when I asked for it to be rare. Salad and chips are delicious. Nice spot for fish and chips.
Shelley inn remains my favourite place to ride too for lunch, good food and nice sea breezes I ride from Ipswich to partake. If you find yourself in the area don't hesitate to try them
