Review The Jam Pantry - Brisbane

Starlight Productions Australia
One of my favourite cafe in Brisbane, just found they have changed menu 🎉beautiful balance flavor for the chicken bacon waffle. Sounds bizarre but when I tasted it, it totally makes sense and it is awesome experience to taste their food. I am so addicted to their jams as well.

I had a delicious cake and a nice coffee here. Also dined in! My favourite is veggie brekkie :-)

Im Vaxed but my partner isn't so they were kind enough to still let us dine in although in the Garden out the back away from the crowd which I didn't mind, very much appreciated and food was delicious aswell.

Delicious food, warm service, nice declaration. Good to come and have a delicious brunch in comfortable place.😊😊

Had the zucchini fritters dish and my brother had the gnocchi. The fritters were soft, would of liked more crunch, but was still a delicious, fresh meal. My brother enjoyed the breakfast gnocchi, very filling :) thank you!

Coffee tasted good. Dishes looked pretty but not equivalently tasty. Service wasn’t that good, probably due to a lack of staff.

Delicious food and great service. We had the red velvet waffles, the Rose crepes, and the pantry breakfast- all delicious and the Crepes were really outstanding. The quality of food here is unmatched. Will be back!

Waited 25 minutes for a coffee and brownie that never turned up. Didn't even bother asking for a refund - probably would have taken an hour. Staff pay very little attention to customers. Used to be good but I won't bother coming back any more. Edit: I returned and was graciously given my order and the staff were quite apologetic. I hope future experiences will be an improvement. I appreciate a business that can acknowledge failure and take action to rectify it.

$2 EXTRA FOR TOASTED?!! Are you kidding me? <br/><br/>Nice place but you have to watch weird add ons that are usually free. Eg to toad banana bread ( which normally comes toasted in a cafe) it’s $2 extra. <br/>Strange. <br/>Nice place apart from that.

Omelette ($22) - 2/5<br/>Smoked salmon, ricotta, garlic scape with fresh peach, sorrel and prawn crackers<br/><br/>Upon entering this cafe, I was very impressed by the cute interior decor and furniture which made it feel like I was visiting my nan's house for a lovely home-cooked lunch. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating which added to the great atmosphere. The standard menu was rather small so I opted for one of the Christmas specials instead.<br/><br/>This dish was definitely not what I was expecting when it arrived. Instead of being a beautiful golden brown, the omelette was slightly burnt and was pale yellow on the inside. Oddly, it seemed like this dish was cooked in the oven instead of pan-fried, which meant that the egg was bland and the smoked salmon disappointingly overcooked. The addition of the peach slices was completely unnecessary and did not complement this dish at all. Ultimately, this omelette was a big letdown which was a huge shame as I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this cafe.

These pancakes taste like Christmas. Every bite of them is not heavy - AT ALL- but impossibly light.<br/>Gingerbread-y tastes fill your mouth and somehow you picture green trees and red berries. (Maybe its the colours in the plate. Maybe it's the association of Christmas with holly and mistletoe, even to people who were born and bred and breath the tropics like me.)<br/><br/>The plums are impossibly good. Why are they so good? What is in these plums?<br/><br/>Nothing is overly sweet, and that shouldn't be possible with the plums and dried cherries. Oh man, the dried cherries taste like mulled wine and happiness and genius.<br/><br/>CHOCOLATE AVOCADO MOUSSE. OH man. This is the best thing for a nutty-chocolate lover. That texture.<br/><br/>Still, nothing is over-sweet. This needs some sort of medal!<br/><br/>The chef is a genius, I thought...and 15 minutes later, I still think that.<br/><br/>How is it possible for one singular dish to be the best thing I have ever tasted?<br/><br/>This is amazing. I am blessed. Oh yes. I never ever want to leave this moment. I think I'm in love with pancakes.<br/><br/>I'm not even that crazy ABOUT pancakes. These are just so...genius.<br/>Everyone here is genius. This whole experience is genius.<br/><br/>I'm a big believer in praising something when you're the most grateful. In this case, it's after I ate these pancakes because I was NOT intending to stop during it.<br/>I tried. I tried a few times, but I couldn't. It would have ruined the experience .

Breakfast of Nims eggs was awesome, full of interesting flavours, banana chutney & pesto, but hey it works!!!!

Great place for coffee and brunch classics. Nothing groundbreaking, but overall a satisfying experience. I’ll be back for sure.

I was really disappointed in all aspects. The food and menu weren’t exciting. The coffee was weak and cheap no dairy milks are being used. The restaurant was so noisy I spent the entire time hunched over the table trying to hear my friends voice. The staff are atrocious as well as the manager. When I very politely asked were my side dish was I was barked at and told that “people only have two hands” and said that she’d return with it. You get better customer service from Maccas and that’s a fact.

Everything you visit something a little different. Staff are friendly. Service typically swift. Gorgeous breakfasts<br/><br/>Our recent visit needed some adjustment for dietary needs and this was a breeze.<br/><br/>I slightly resent that I can no longer walk to Comfort at my table, but it is perhaps time to move on!

Interesting menu , nice and light and airy. but very very loud and makes the meal VERY unpleasant After a few minutes I got a head ache . Should look at how to reduce noise levels as we will not be back

I love visiting The Jam Pantry, it’s a little slice of paradise in the suburbs with an awesome vibe. Their pancakes are delicious, and LOVE the real chocolate shavings on the cappuccinos!

Fantastic coffees and brekky options with a difference. Jam Pantry serves up a heap of plant base options that will fuel you for a full day. And you can simply add a meat or two of you crave that extra protein

I’ve only been here twice and I was far from impressed both times - but the second time was really quite awful. It was only 10am on a Saturday morning and almost nothing was left - even when i requested a staple off the every day menu I couldn’t even get it. Once I settled on a dish I didn’t even want, it was really very basic, extremely over priced, and somehow the coffee came after the meal which took forever to come in the first place, and on top of that I was overcharged too. When I questioned the bill I was spoken to so rudely. Atleast now I can explain to my friends why as a local I don’t just go around the corner to Jam Pantry - because travelling somewhere else will get me a far better breakfast. Not just average, quite terrible. I truly believe the only reason there is a line is because they are slow with everything.

This place is delightful. The staff are the ring a ding ding! Loved the strawberry jam milkshake and the eggs benny with leg ham was heaven. My only fault is the toast was way to crispy to cut with my butter knife.. but hey no problemo.. god gave me hands.

After standing outside, as requested by the sign, like a naughty school boy being ignored by the staff inside and seeing an abundance of empty tables we went in assuming we had not been seen only to be told to wait outside - really!!!!! Well we would have eaten here but will never return. Your food is just not good enough to tolerate your ignorance.

What a cool little place. It’s so nice to have a suburban cafe to visit on the weekends. Loved the weird and wonderful menu options because they dare to try new flavour combinations. I’m always excited to see what the breakfast specials are

If you are pregnant DO NOT GO.<br/>The guy who part owns it has an opinion about everything.<br/>I was there with a friend who heard good things, even she was disgusted with how he spoke to me.<br/><br/>I was told that because it's my third I should have stoped at two. And that I should even eat and drink like a normal person because pregnant women stress too much about what they eat. He kept going on and on about it. Made me feel really uncomfortable.<br/><br/>I had never been before and will never go back.<br/><br/>He kept going. Apparently he was so dissapointed in me finding out what I was having without even asking why ect.<br/><br/>Then he went on to describe how pregnant another lady was to me reacting how she was apparently walking like a "fat penguin"<br/><br/>I was absolutely DISGUSTED in this behavior and can not believe you would treat ANYONE like this.

Did not expect to see a cafe offering such serious attitude in table service. Very nice and comfortable vibe. There was no doubt on the pouring technique of the barista. Smooth and strong coffee with well presentation. In addition , the poached eggs with smoked salmon sitting in the sourdough was superb and tasteful. What a local gem!

Ok, I have found my favourite breakfast food in Brisbane! The Jam Pantry at 2/575 Logan Rd, Greenslopes. I visited by myself and the service was very friendly and attentive. The cafe has a lovely homely feel, being decked out with knick-knacks and jam. Of course, the food and coffee were the main attractions. The Jam Pantry has a set menu, and then seasonal options on the board. They specialise in unique combinations.

We were last at The Jam Pantry over a year ago, and thought it might be time to revisit this little eatery in Greenslopes. The recollection of the queue for a table on a busy weekend had been a deterrent for a while, but we decided to try our luck away from peak brunch time. Located along the rather busy Logan Road, the cafe is more clearly signed than many others, with The Jam Pantry in black cursive font on a yellow circle standing almost half a storey high above the front of the store. It is there on the front glass as well, as you approach the entrance.

Mmm very nice<br/>Been out of action of late dad popped in and had a fab coffee... yes he knows his coffee lovely taste but the reason he thought was the winner was the “ milk” from the beautiful areas ofwrte it comes creamy gives a golden Cremes on top<br/><br/>He bought me the Bircher Museli as a take out for me for a delicious breakfast <br/>Absolutely brilliant! Soft , moist sweet fruits very filling but made on lovely sheeps milk a real star ⭐ <br/>Not your $1 breakfast at maccas but who would eat that swill when you can go somewhere clean hygiene and hoppin<br/><br/>Must return sorry no pics, the Octogenarian doesn’t believe in smart phones!!Gordons Girl

Love this place. Walked in during a very busy breakfast service and both food and service was spot on. As you walk in there’s a very special vibe about it - comfortable, homely, peaceful and welcoming. Had the smashed avo with Romesco, loved the attention to detail. Shout out to our waiter Richard who was so lovely!

Ok Nims here are the review u asked for.<br/>RUDE & DIFFICULT... not the two words that people have used to describe me,thank god for that. (Well at least not to my face) BUT it happened yesterday’s morning. <br/>After dropping off my 4yo to kindy. Joanne and I brought our 1yo to the Jam Pantry for breakfast. We’ve been coming here 4 breakfast for many years & we have always been happy with the food & the services that we’ve received. I could not recall a single moment where we have left the cafe dissatisfied, I guess that is why we keep going back. After waited awhile for the same food that we ordered every time we are here. The lady boss Nims came up to us & said “I’m surprise that you guys still dare to come back after the bad review you gave us on Google”. After hearing that Joanne & I looked at each other & we were both puzzled & surprised that she said that. People who knows me can probably attest that I’m quite a private person & I rarely go around writing review online or deliberately try to make someone feels bad about themselves. So, that comment really left a bitter taste in my mouth and I totally lose my appetite after that. The boss lady basically walked away after that so I had to walked all the way to the back of the cafe to try to find out what she meant by her comment bcoz there’s obviously a big misunderstanding here. She went on & told me that we have given them a bad review on google review 2 Months ago, and she was so sure that it was left by us using a fake ID name called Kate P. (obviously I’m not Kate &Joanne doesn’t have an altered ego called Kate p) she said she was sure it was us after she asked amongst her staffs & apparently they have all labelled us as being “rude and difficult”. (Ok, We go to this place probably once a week or once a fortnight, sometimes once a month, not so that often really, so I don’t know how the staffs remember us & how without a name they could clearly identify us other than calling us “the Asian couple with the two kids”, which I’m sure there are many many others around). The word rude and difficult really set me off. I for one strongly believe the saying “treat others the way you want to be treated” and everybody is created equal, I’m no more superior than Ziggy, the homeless gentleman who lives under his broken umbrella in Indooroopilly. It is just not in my character or personality to put anyone down by being rude or condescending. Especially not during a short one minute interaction with the waitress, ordering food, no matter whether I’m “hangry” or not. That’s the reason why i am certain that I am not the person she was referring to. Despite trying to prove that we are not Kate p and I even shown her my roster from November showing that I was actually at work that day, she was still adamant that we are “Kate p”. After awhile more of trying to convince her &Joanne now in tears, we gave up and left the cafe without even touching our meal. She did insincerely apologised & said I’m sorry for mistaking u for that person & u are more than welcome to come back next time if you want. Errr no way Jose! Does she really think that after what happened we will still go back! All we wanted was a quiet breakfast and then what we’ve got was an attack (yes I’ve used the word attack) from Nims, for something that we did not do. And after that to justify herself, she created the story that we were always rude and difficult to her staffs. That was not cool at all.The fact is, the 10 or so times that we’ve been here, Nims has never ever greeted us, not even with a obligatory smile. To be greeted by her for the very first time with an accusation that is totally false, that really hurt. We always gave her the benefit of the doubt that she is busy or having a bad day but now I know she is just not a very nice person. Accusing us of doing something basing on an assumption, I’m sorry Nims.

f I could give zero star I would.. been here for a few years nearly weekly as I use to love the place no matter how busy or long the food took.. today we were confronted by the boss Nims saying that she can’t believe we were there after we’ve given them a bad review.. Seriously? U don’t jus go to anyone and say that.. it was such an insult.. we had to prove that it wasn’t us. There was this review on another page written by a lady called Kate P said that she went on a Saturday , I hardly go on a Saturday as I know they have long waits and my kids get hungry very fast and the review goes on about waiting a long time for a babycino and we have never ordered babycino for my boy as he only wants chocolate milkshake, the review talks about takeaway coffee, I knew ages ago they don’t do takeaway coffee for adults.. n the boss still didn’t believe we weren’t the people who posted the review (from some Kate p), saying the wait times was long, which is true, and the boss is rude, which is true, she has never said hi to us in all these years and today was the first time she talks to us and we were greeted with the above comment and after obviously us showing her the review isn’t written by us and then she goes on to say we were always rude and difficult? Seriously? <br/><br/>If u have kids don’t come here as they think we are all difficult and rude and messy.. we are busy making sure the kids eat properly and having our hands full.. I have a 1 yr old and 4 yr old to make sure they eat which is what we come here for.<br/><br/>No restaurant has made me cry and I use to come cos this was where my boy grew up to love the food here with his milk shake..we are never coming back again after this incident. Who does this to their customer ?<br/><br/>For them to say we are rude when there’s all these reviews stating that their service n staff are so rude and service is too long is really the joke .. I for once never had the time to review as I have 2 kids one being a baby.. and for her to come and ruined our so sacredly off day to enjoy with jus 1 baby just proves what kind of people they are n what they think of loyalty.. never again will I be stepping foot in this place.. I have never been insulted or so wrongly accused in my life n for them to not be sincerely apologetic n to keep insisting it’s us about a review says a lot .. they clearly don’t care about customers ..<br/>

My second time back here. Great service, delicious food.  Love that the specials seem to constantly change around a theme. Had the corn fritters which were perfect.

I walked into this cafe for the first time today excited as I was told it would be good. I wondered whether we had to wait to be seated but as a number of staff walked past us without saying anything I figured we’d just sit down at one of the numerous empty tables. A couple of minutes after sitting down a staff member came over and promptly said ‘next time you need to wait to be seated’. I was quite shocked by her aggressive tone, and so were the customers at the tables around us. I’m not normally one to make a fuss but I was so taken aback I said to her that I hadn’t seen the sign so I wasn’t aware, to which she replied ‘there’s a large sign outside’ and pointed. I couldn’t believe how rude she was being that I said to my partner that we should leave. My partner requested to speak to the manager however after waiting a good couple of minutes for the manager to show up we decided to just leave. I will NEVER go back here. I have never experienced such rudeness at a cafe before in my life.

Have moved to this suburb for 3 months now so I thought I should try this popular cafe. Food is mediocre. They are popular with their egg beni so I gave it a go. It was okay, not bad but also not super delicious. Disappointed with the coffee, it was sour. Service was fine. I probably just gonna try other cafes in this suburb.

You wouldn’t be able to spot this place from the outside as it’s tucked away in the of a corner street. As you walk in you find a fresh bright place.<br/><br/>The Jam Pantry is known for its homemade preserves. <br/><br/>We came in at about lunch on a Saturday. I hear good things about this place so we gave it a shot. The menu is nice and simple although does not highlight which items use their homemade ingredients they speak highly of. I queried the wait staff that help take our order about something that was substantial as I was hungry. She wasn’t very helpful.<br/><br/>The coffee was good but this wasn’t why we were here. We ordered the BLT and eggs Benedict. The BLT was amazing! It used the homemade preserves it boasts and made its reputation on. Unfortunately the eggs Benedict was nothing but ordinary... I maybe wrong but I didn’t get flavours that spoke highly of itself.<br/><br/>Overall this place is a great for catching up with friends. You need to be careful with what you pick and as for service this is something that can be worked on.

Interesting menu. Not Many options if you don't like bacon for breakfast. Meal was still good though. Also tried pancakes which were huge and delicious. Coffee was nice.
Jasmyin.tay
Ambience was nice, there was really nothing on the August menu that I was dying to try. Had a lot of Japanese influence and the mix for French was honestly a bit weird. Coffee was surprisingly bitter, not my kind of coffee.

Don't get the popularity of this place. Overhyped. Coffee is bad!! Food & Service is pretty much the same. Friends have had similar experiences and also felt ill afterwards. I'll just put this down to the many of things I don't get. Each to their own.

Deliciously different, loved the home brewed kombucha and nuns eggs were great, only downfall was having a group with a lot of small children sat on our table when we were attempting a relaxing breakfast...will book ahead to get a small table next time.

The Jam Pantry<br/><br/>Went on a weekday early arvo and it was pretty crowded! there were many young mums and young children, the place was quite echo-y so be prepared to lean in and talk a bit louder. but the place is cosy, clean and homely.<br/>We ordered the BLT and Nim's Egg, both were a delicious blend of savoury. They did not have bacon on that day so they kindly let informed us and replaced it with leg ham, it was still good nonetheless. <br/>I really like the bacon jam and banana chutney, they were very unique!<br/>Overall:Food: great variety, great flavourAtmosphere: can be quite loud, but place is very cosyPrice: Reasonable, price is worth it for the foodService: They are friendly but can be quite busy

I had the nims eggs for breakfast at The Jam Pantry and thought it was very tasty. I enjoyed the coffee with chocolate shavings. I look forward to coming back to try more of the menu items. Friendly service.

Upon walking inside The Jam Pantry, we were distracted by the noise, it was so loud in side!! We waiting for a waitress to approach us to organise a table which took way longer than it should have. When seated, we were told to look at the menu on the wall. Not a massive fan of the whole flip board menu thing when seated behind a wall where you can't see the board, they should have a paper option as well. The waitress just told us to go take a photo of it (I don't really want to be getting up and taking photos of a menu, where others are sitting) The waitresses weren't particularly friendly and moved at the pace of a turtle when it came to taking our orders. We first ordered drinks then had a look at my photo of the menu (haha). Another waitress didn't approach us for 15 minutes to take our order... After finally ordering food we waited another 50 minutes for food that was very meh. Some really strange flavour combinations going on here that don't quite work (the pesto and banana chutney - was very strange). My partner ordered the pancakes which were ok but not really well cooked on the inside... can't stand paying $50 for food that was just ok. TLDR; long wait for food that was a bit weird... wouldn't go back.
Courtney Taylor
This cafe is so warm and welcoming from the decor to the homemade jams and chutneys and aprons that the waiters wear! Luckily we had made a reservation and we got the big table at the back - there was a lengthy wait for food and coffee but it was well worth it! I am sure all the dishes are amazing but the ones we sampled were poached eggs on quinoa sourdough, smashed avo (the figs were amazing!), Nim's eggs and the broken egg special - all were plated beautifully and looked too good to eat! As a side note, the banana chutney is well worth a try! And the cappuccinos come with proper grated chocolate! I made sure to instagram it! Will be back for sure :)

Went on Saturday to catch up with a friend. Arrived at 9 the was about 15 mins wait for a table. Once seated i was happy to learn it was full table service so no paying at the counter and taking a number. Very busy so things were a little slow but well worth the wait honestly. Food was fresh and very tasty. Service whilst slow was lovely and everyone that worked there was happy and kind. Didn't give 5 out of 5 as would have liked to book a table. Bookings taken for 5 or more people. Would love to come back. Beautiful!

I really like this place. It is well designed and the staff are efficient and courteous. I generally order anything with the Bacon Jam, yum! I am not a fan of sweetie things for breakfast but my partner is and even then some of the food is just too sweet, but still pretty good apparently. I like their coffee.

<br/>I have heard great reviews about The Jam Pantry but boy was I disappointed.<br/><br/>I ordered one of the specials on the board which was the brown rice sourdough crumpets with baked plums. Crumpets should be light and fluffy, but what I got was a soggy mess. The crumpets were swimming in butter. It tasted more like uncooked batter. There were also 3 huge chunks of butter on top of each crumpet (see photo). After 2 mouthfuls I felt sick. The baked plums were underwhelming and I couldn't taste any lemon yoghurt that was also described on the menu.<br/><br/>I told the waitress whom took the plate back to the kitchen, but there was no follow-up. When I voiced my complaint with the cashier, she said that "I'm sorry the dish didn't suit your taste". And I had to pay for it! Isn't the customer always right? That's hospitality 101. Definitely not coming back!!! <br/>
Coffee Snob
The food is really lovely but the service is really slow. The owner isn't particularly friendly which is a huge no-no in hospitality. If you really appreciate  good service, go elsewhere. If you're just after somewhere with something nice to eat for an average price, it's good/
Hannah K
Only a small menu but everything on the menu is seasonal so you only get the freshest ingredients. Coffee here is fantastic and the staff have a great vibe!
Chloe Russell
My husband was literally refused a takeaway coffee from the owner of this cafe. Each time I've been there, I've found her to be extremely unfriendly. The coffee and food is good but I won't be returning purely based on the terrible customer service.

This little gem has been high on my brekkie hit list for a while now, so I'm pleased that this morning's experience was worth the wait.<br/><br/>The Jam Pantry has a warm, welcoming and homely feel from the moment you set foot in the door. I loved the framed vintage advertising on the walls, the cute print aprons worn by the staff, and the gorgeous floral wallpaper in the group dining room. I especially loved the shelves stocked with house-made preserves - Peach & Vanilla Jam, Banana Chutney, Bacon Jam, Peach & Tarragon Jam - all available for $10 purchase. <br/><br/>It was far too hot today for coffees so husband and I both ordered the fruit smoothie - OMG it was like sipping a cheesecake through a straw!!! Personally I think owner-operator-extraordinaire Nims should start bottling and selling this smoothie, it's THAT good. <br/><br/>I love the concept behind Nims's Flip Board - every 2 weeks the boards are flipped to a completely new menu that's designed around produce in hyper season. If quirky, inventive dishes aren't your thing, there's also the Classics Menu that remains static and features gorgeous breakfast staples. <br/><br/>Husband ordered the BLT from the Classics Menu - bacon, bacon jam, cos lettuce, roasted tomatoes and garlic mayo on a brioche bun. He was pretty happy with this. He enjoyed the bacon jam and found the dish to be quite filling. As he doesn't eat tomatoes (I know, right?!) I was the lucky recipient. Roasted to perfection - not too watery, not overcooked, perfectly seasoned = happy tummy.<br/><br/>I ordered the French Toast from the Flip Board - drenched brioche with fennel, honey & chĂšvre parfait, blueberries, raspberries, and sweet pickled beetroot. My tastebuds were in heaven! Beautifully presented and all of the elements paired together really well. <br/><br/>The brioche was perfect, the beetroot was fabulous, and the parfait was an interesting taste sensation. I found the parfait serving to be a bit too big and just a tiny bit too sweet towards the end, but this was really the only negative on the plate. I'm not a huge fan of maple syrup so I was quite happy that it was separated out from the rest of the dish. This meant that I could adjust the sweetness based on my own personal tastes - a great little considerate touch when plating.<br/><br/>The service from the waitstaff here is friendly, polite, and unobtrusive. And have I mentioned the vintage printed aprons?! It's also apparently not uncommon to see Nims around the place, but unfortunately her service style is less than appealing - no smile and brusque demeanour.<br/><br/>The cafe is housed in a cottage-style building with VJ boards, wooden floor and a high ceiling, so expect the noise level to be a little louder than normal. Also, be prepared to wait for a table - this place is super popular, with good reason. Luckily, we only waited for about 5-10 minutes before we were seated inside. There's parking available on the neighbouring streets but be prepared for a little walk if it's busy.

So happy to have found this little gem! We almost always order from the specials board which is constantly being updated with amazing new dishes. Don't even get me started on the Kombucha...definitely a MUST if u are there. The service is wonderful & even the kiddies love coming here. My only complaint is that they are closed on Mondays (my day off)!

We're a bit late to the party but thrilled to have found this very popular cafe in the inner city suburb of Greenslopes.<br/>Classic Nims styling although not as chintzy as her last Cafe the signature comfort food is still evident.<br/>Fantastic menu selection along with a mouthwatering display of delicious treats.<br/>Meals are very generously proportioned and thoughtfully planned.<br/>There's real soul to the food and vibe in this popular cafe.<br/>Our server was charming, helpful and ver professional.<br/>On a very busy Sunday the place was bright, buzzing and energetic.<br/>There are lots of hard surfaces so with everyone talking it is noisy.<br/>Unofficial off street parking if you have a 4WD otherwise in neighbouring streets.<br/>We're already planning our next visit!

Tried one of the amazing specials on the board. Brioche French toast with fig and basil compote, pomegranate, pink poached pears and Persian fairy floss. Simply devine.
Zzgdeed
Good food and quite interesting variations but the service by the owner is always brusque but efficient - she looks sooooo over the whole service issues - maybe she needs to let her younger staff play the front of house as they know how to do it. <br/>

Having heard of the Jam Pantry’s popularity amongst locals, I have been hanging out to try this establishment for some time. Our last 3 attempts to dine here (midweek, Saturday, Sunday) have all ended unsuccessfully due to the cafĂ© closing significantly early: ranging between 45- 90 minutes before the advertised time. On one occasion we were even seated prior to being told that the kitchen was in fact closed. Fingers crossed that either the online hours will be updated or my fourth visit will find an open door- whichever comes first.
Foodieinheels
Visited on Saturday morning around 10.30 for brunch and we were seated inside upon arrival. I ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough with crispy bacon and the famous cappuccino with shaved chocolate flakes. The eggs could have been creamier in texture, but still tasty; sourdough toasted just right with plenty of buttery goodness; and the bacon was crispy which is how I like it! Coffee isn't the best I've had, but the chocolate flakes made up for it. I loved the decor of Jam Pantry with its Hamptons-like vibe and the bathroom was also very clean which is a great bonus! Service was friendly and efficient, which was a relief given that the first time I visited Jam Pantry, I didn't even make it to a table after leaving due to the frosty reception. However, I'm a believer in second chances and based on my experience on Saturday, I will be returning for more!

Very, very disappointing.   Very loud and frantic inside.  Asked to be relocated to an outside table which was much better.  The food was burnt and very tasteless which was a huge let down.  After our second round of drinks we were asked if we would be ordering anything else.  After answering no we were asked if we were ready to go because another couple would rather be outside than inside.  I think that is outrageous.  I have never been asked to leave a cafe.  I will not be recommending this venue to anyone and will certainly not be going back again.  Poor service.  Poor food.  Poor attitude.
Paddy Irish
Had to wait 30min for a table but well worth it as the food was unreal. Service was good and the staff were really friendly. Will definitely be returning soon
G'slopes Local
Tried my local again, having been disappointed previously by a 20 minute wait for a takeaway coffee (not on a weekend). This time, 50 minutes between sitting down and receiving our 2 coffees, muffin and babycino. I don't mind a wait but seriously....a warning that things are delayed or an apologetic smile when you go to pay might have been nice. And it wasn't on a weekend.

We went to the jam pantry for breakfast this morning. There are lots of interesting choices on the menu and the food is nice. I ordered pancakes with avocado, passionfruit and pineapple. Unfortunately I think they have way too many tables, causing the place to be overcrowded and very noisy. Service is also a bit slow. Has potential though!

Coffee in a real mug!!! Enjoyed my breaki, bit over priced but the service & interior was lovely. Parking a bit tricky.. I'd visit again :-)

I got this app purely to review this restaurant. If you're going here definitely make sure you're ready for this. My food and coffee were underwhelming however there were other dishes that looked quite appetising so the food at least isn't too bad. The other wait staff were lovely and the atmosphere not altogether cold. <br/><br/>But not even Michelin star level food and service from the staff can make up for the owner. She absolutely ruined my Saturday morning and there are plenty of other restaurants a stone's throw away with better food, better coffee and where you won't leave with a salty taste in your mouth. <br/>
The Gluten-Free Foodie
Today I had lunch with my family who are very picky about about food and coffee. Even though the place was packed our food and drinks came out promptly and all dietary/cooking specifications were followed without any fuss. The waitress was super attentive. We had an awesome time and would definitely come back anytime.

Excellent little cafe tucked away behind Logan road in the heart of leafy Greenslopes. The coffee is great with shaved chocolate on the cappuccinos and brown sugar for the sweet tooth. The brekkie options are fantastic. The regulars are always done to perfection with lots of new items to try out. There is a selection of sauces and accompaniments with the home made chutneys and relishes a standout. For fellow bacon lovers - they use streaky bacon. Need I say more?!

Me and my boyfriend were there for breakfast this morning. Had the Whole Pantry and Omelette. Food and coffee were fantastic. The only downside I would say is the bad acoustic. It's hard to not shout. We can barely hear each other. The noise is a little unbearable to a point we decided to not talk and just finish our meals. Might be worth while to get the acoustic level checked out and open the windows.

Wait was short at 8am and the food was worth it! Their interpretation of the BLT was really good! Highly recommended brunch spot to try. Will not disappoint.

The Jam Pantry has been opened for a little<br/>over a year now and is proving to be a massive crowd favourite. Nims, the<br/>owner, produces her own jams and preserves which are cleverly incorporated into<br/>all the dishes. The Jam Pantry’s menu is always changing, they flip the boards<br/>on their blackboard revealing the new dishes roughly once a week. Sometimes the<br/>combinations are a little crazy sounding, their latest French toast featured<br/>corn and feta ice cream, but trust us they’re always delicious. It can get very busy on Weekends so best to try and make a booking or be prepared for a wait.

This place is the best for breakfast!! What can Isay but YUM! Great food and a great location with lots of fresh produce, and a regularly changing menu

A friend recommended this place and it looked very promising when I arrived on a Saturday afternoon to find it completely packed. I guess my expectations were further raised when I had to wait for half an hour to get seated.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, I don't think the food met my expectations. I ordered the "entire pantry" which was much smaller in portion than its name suggested yet I still struggled to finish it. The lamb was too salty to be served on the same place as the halloumi in my honest opinion and the bread was cold and hard.<br/><br/>My friend ordered the French toast which I found to be too sweet for my taste buds. Looks like my search for a regular brunch spot in Brisbane continues...

The Avo smash was the best I've had in a while. The place had no air-con and when it did get turned on it was still hot. The service was okay the lady was a bit grumpy.
Ben Turner
This place is loud and the service is terrible.  Only a certain clientele is allowed to be apart of the food experience here.  This place could only compete locally in terms of service and is more suited for remote locations.  Pretty disappointing.

I really enjoyed eating at the Jam Pantry.  The wait was quite long, however we did visit during peak breakfast time.  The Jam Pantry had both a traditional breakfast menu, and a more adventurous menu.  My partner opted for the Nimms Eggs, while I ordered the bacon and sweet potato ice-cream sandwich.  Both were very well done, and their coffee was excellent!  I would recommend The Jam Pantry to anyone looking for an interesting and delicious breakfast.

If you are a foodie you will love the crafting of the blackboard menu focussing on seasonal produce themes. If you're just a breakfast snob who likes to be seen out & about you may find it noisy busy & a wait. If you want to enjoy carefully selected and crafted fare then this is for you. One of the best in Brisbane.
Nathan
With the wait outside the premises i was hoping for something amazing when it was my time to sit down. However upon entering the jam pantry and getting served by perhaps the rudest staff i have come to encounter. I discovered the menu to be boring and the food lacking. Have no idea why there is so much hype about this place. There are by far so many better places to dine for service and food. One positive was it had good coffee.
Paul And Anne
The menu was adventurous however it lacked some staple breakfast items because of this. It's definitely something to try. Be prepared to wait at least half an hour for a table however they managed this well. Service was excellent from hello to goodbye. Recommended.

Possibly the best chai in Brisbane (if you're a fan of sweet chai that is) - a bit like drinking a doughnut! Went for lunch one day and had the smoked fish with French toast - it sounded odd but the waitress recommended and I'm so glad she did! It was so good we were back a few days later with more people to have it again! Lovely ambience, really nice spot.

A long wait at peak brunch time on weekends for a table here but the food and coffee are certainly worth the wait.  Would highly recommend "Nim's eggs" a delightful and delicious menu feature that they had on the menu at their previous cafe "Comfort at my Table."
George
This place is VERY VERY LOUD. Lots of crashing and yelling crying people. Unrelaxing. Forget conversation. Food....if you like breakfast you'll appreciate the menu....but its only breakfast fare here unfortunately. Coffee ok. Clean and cool overall. I left with a headache.
Patrick
Had brunch here for the first time this morning. It is such a bright and cheerful interior you can't help but be happy. The service was quick and really friendly. We had milkshakes and the scrambled eggs / Benedict for meals and both were delicious! Prices were good and definitely will go back here again.

Once trying to get away from the busy part of town, the crowd followed the hype down to the Jam Pantry. Now, it is an institution unto itself since much of the same can be said about its parent cafe - Comfort at My Table. With such an acclaimed place being so close, yet not being gone here yet as residents around the area it was more or less a matter of time before trying out the Jam Pantry. This was not any recent realisation, for a long time with hearing all of the acclaim it was going to be a matter of time before today. <br/><br/>It hasn't been open for too long, however it is definitely no longer the new kid on the block. However, neither the popularity and its role as a dining hot spot have diminished. Let's put it this way: for there to even be a fighting chance of getting a table you need to arrive here before the doors even open. One time (months back) my dining buddy and I tried to get in here, unbeknownst that the group of people out the front were waiting for a table; the wait was going to be a long time. To combat that, some pre-planning had to be done to ensure that we would get a seat.<br/><br/>N.B. I still remember the two of us *just* getting into Comfort at My Table many moons ago; one table was left and it was purely luck. That tactic could not be relied on this time around. <br/><br/>One weekend morning, I had to be woken up early - and I am not a morning person at all. At least early for me, which when I have nowhere to be is anytime before 8-8:30. Big weekend ritual, involving breakfast and grocery shopping it was off to Jam Pantry for a meal first. Much like it was said, even getting there within ten minutes prior to it opening there were already two dozen willing people waiting to come in. <br/><br/>There are two parts to their menu selection, both of them designed for breakfast. At first, there is the regular menu which has the basic staples of breakfast - eggs on toast, bacon and eggs, eggs Benedict etc. Then there is the rotating menu, which has twelve different sections which are all switched over every fortnight. The owner is constantly finding what is in season, local, and available to create a dozen unique dishes - that is dedication on a level of very few professions I have seen. She also makes a lot of her own produce, including the jams, chutney and peanut butter. <br/><br/>Expect there to be a savoury option, a few different kinds of jam for toast, pancakes, cereal, fritters, either a version of waffles or French toast and an omelet as a few examples. This is a great tweak to the usual business, since if you want to be surprised it is highly possible. Going full circle back to the basic menu, one rotating special you could say is the big breakfast option - called "The Whole Pantry". Basically, it is a big mixture of whatever they need to get rid of. It also has a generous drinks menu. Where possible, these are done with fresh produce and include milkshakes, smoothies, teas, coffees and babycinos. <br/><br/>So how does it all add up? Credit will be given where credit is due, though in a few ways it is less than the sum of its parts. This is from the same people behind the brilliant Comfort at My Table in Milton, where there is the same cute tea-party aesthetic albeit a bit dialed down. I appreciate the effort, but it either seems a bit artificial or the volume of noise might clash somewhat with it. <br/><br/>The service has got to be some of the most prompt and hard-working that I have ever seen. Before the doors even opened, I could see that the manager was taking her proteges through the instructions of taking orders and how to get the best results. It does not skip a beat, and it all feels a bit rehearsed in some ways. They chose some gregarious young women to be waitstaff here, and it fits in with the cute decor that they have chosen. Time taken to clear a table has varied a lot from what I have seen, but this may be a first: at the end of the meal, as my dining buddy and I were getting up a waitress was already there collecting the plates to take back to the kitchen. That is a record in my books. <br/><br/>Business was definitely as usual, ordering the coffee first. That business meant that it was a doppio. The beans that they use are from Supreme Roasters. From a fair bit of coffee drinking, though it has not come up as abundantly as other blends it has punched well above its weight. It is one that I always get optimistic when I see its name. Which makes this the most disappointing aspect about the Jam Pantry. In spite of choosing well with a reliable bean, it turned out to be an underwhelming coffee. On a technical front there is nothing that I can fault for how it was made. It had a good crema, and the coffee was extracted in a competent manner. However, where it fell down was in how weak the coffee was - and yes, this was with asking for two shots. It was simply just bland. Making it more of a disappointment was that my dining buddy got a cappuccino, which came with real shaved chocolate on top. <br/><br/>That was a real darn pity, as the food that was available from the menu was on par with excellence. This especially goes for the rotating board, in which every item sounded like it was given its due attention. At no point when describing any of the items do they seem to simply be going through motions with creating each meal, even for something as basic as bacon and eggs. <br/><br/>It is hard to choose between the options, as they all sound so good. Between us two, the savoury and the French were ordered. My dining buddy had pointed out the former option, which was a pan-fried mixture of yams and ginger, with pork belly and a wok-fried egg on top of a pineapple salsa. The latter was a revamped version of French toast, which used a drenched croissant using evaporated milk foam, and had banana, and streaky bacon on top with bits of green mango around the plate. On the side was a thimble of maple syrup to pour over. <br/><br/>Both of these were really good, definitely had fine produce and were filling. They were overall very tasty, and especially going for the savoury option it is like little that I have ever had. If there was one problem with the savoury, it would be that they were skimping on the pork belly. Aside from that, it was one unusual dish; the lack of pork belly made it kind of a mixture of pineapple and yam creating more of a salad. The pineapple was juicy and fresh, plus the yams were really tender and soft. Wok fried egg is always a good twist on the classic egg. So, it passes - just more meat for the man. <br/><br/>I have nothing but good things to say about the French option. Admittedly, you are hearing from a sucker for French toast. What I especially liked was how crispy the bacon was. The bits of green mango placed around the plate were like sweet hits of crystalised sugar. That croissant was chewy and absorbed all the sweetness well. A twist on a treat. <br/><br/>So, maybe the whole is less than the sum of its part. When all things are said and done, definitely go here as it has earned its place as one of Brisbane's most unique and creative eateries, particularly for breakfasts. Effort has been put into the look, but something like this needs to not only have the aesthetic, but to really go for the polish. I know I should be more optimistic and supportive to local business but in honesty I did leave here with a bit of disappointment - maybe if they got a better barista. Then, it would be a true highlight around town.

The Jam Pantry has been on my to-visit list ever since owner Naomi Zavackas (formerly the creator of Comfort at My Table and more widely known as Nims) opened her new business on Logan Road in January this year. And we managed to do just that enroute on an Ikea run (we love our cheap furniture) and finally dropping into the Jam Pantry for breakfast.

I have been looking forward to visiting this cafe for quite some time. Frankly, I was slightly underwhelmed. It was a mixed bag of pleasant surprises and mild disappointments. The high points are definitely the food and the service. The low points are the atmosphere and the coffee.<br/>The menu is dazzling with regards to breakfast choices. My friend and I chose The Savoury,(Pork belly, wok fried egg, pineapple salad and yam/ginger squeak) and the French,(Drenched croissant, banana, streaking bacon, mango). Both were faultless in presentation and taste. The girls working here are a credit to the management. They were courteous and efficient.<br/>However the atmosphere is hardly conducive to a relaxing Saturday morning breakfast. It is extremely loud inside and the coffee we were served was' Coffee Club' standard. I expect more from a Supreme roast, than this insipid offering. The cappuccino I ordered looked tremendous with it's real grated chocolate topping and thick foam, but unfortunately looks can be deceiving.<br/>Would I come back? Definitely, for the excellent food and I would sit outside.

Another disappointing first experience at a new Brisbane eatery. If it weren't for the company of our good friend, there would be very little to enjoy. I ordered pancakes that arrived burnt. This was not a slight tinge from the pan but a decent blackening across the board. This was clearly visible and shouldn't have even left the kitchen. They were so busy and we were already hungry after waiting for our meals so I suffered through half of it because the priority was having a nice time with an old friend. They were quite terrible. My wife ordered the Poached eggs which arrived partly submerged in a baking tray of milk??? When asked how our meals were I pointed to the burnt remains of my meal and said it was not good - there was no effort to offer any compensation or apologise. Would not recommend at all.

Who knew that simple foods could have such a twist? Great experience hidden in greenslopes, it's a wonder why you have to get there early just to get a table.... Quick and friendly service with perfect outcomes. Love the change of menu every month, keeps me coming back to see what's new every time

Absolutely blown away by this little Southside gem. I was not expecting a cafe experience as good as it was. The interior is very bright and clean and has a lovely country feel. The staff were also very friendly and served us promptly. The menu was unique, loved the specials board. The food was amazing, good portion sizes at affordable prices and delicious. They also make great milkshakes. We'll be coming back!

This busy little cafe was absolutely packed out on a weekday mid-morning. Accommodating for new mums, which was a plus (enough room between tables to get a pram in). Simple, fresh fare. Excellent coffee. Very noisy inside, though - if you're after a quiet catch up with a friend this probably isn't the place for it, but besides the decibels it's great.

Super polite and friendly wait staff, very clean and cosy cafe. Had the Eggs Benedict and loved it. Added a side of streaky bacon and it was one of the best I've had! Oh and their grilled leg ham is absolutely delish! Will definitely be back for more.

Space is lovely, food mostly very good - very noisy when full!  The staff are friendly and caring however the owner needs to temper her temper!! in other words mind her moods she can be short with both customers and her staff, unfriendly and down right snootyyyyyyy. Brisbane is now full of wonderful places who will take her customers in a blink and be much nicer about it.

Love the fit out of jam pantry. Everything looks so clean and nice.<br/>I enjoyed my meal (French toast with mandarin) and love the ever changing specials board.<br/>They are doing a great job and I would recommend a visit.<br/>

We ordered coffees, and something was telling me to have a cappuccino that day, which meant that I was presented with this gloriously overflowing creamy concoction with copious amounts of chocolate flakes strewn across the top. Coffee is from Coffee Supreme, the Five Star Day Blend.

We went here for Maz.,'s going away, we needed somewhere still close to work or centrally located enough that we could do a quick getaway if we needed to. To Jam Pantry down the road! It had just opened and I had been seeing wonderful photos all over Instagram about the place, that and I knew they were opened up by the same people that owned Comfort at My Table in Milton.

I was so happy to find time to visit this place! I've heard so many good things about it. It wasn't very busy so I was seated immediately by a lovely, friendly woman. I ordered a Flat White, it was delivered quickly and a perfect temperature. Pesto is my weakness so I ordered the banana chutney and pesto eggs and bacon. Food arrived 15minutes later. It was delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, coffee and service. Good job!

When I go out to breakfast, I like to order avocado on toast. Whether this is because it's the only menu item without meat, or whether I just love avocado on good crusty bread, I can't say. I frequent cafes with lovely wallpaper. So, here is another example of a cafe that has gorgeous wallpaper, a delicious avocado dish and enough pizazz and variety to make me want to go back and eat there all over again!

If you're happy to wait in a line for 10-15mins before seated this place is great. Amazing menu with specials that highlight in season produce. I had the roasted parsnips and Gruyere on toast and my husband had poached eggs with crispy bacon. Both were cooked to perfection. The only minor drawback was the coffee. It was good but not great - we like a slightly stronger flavor. No ziymil milk but did have almond milk and soy as a lactose free option. Fantastic service. Would go back again.
The Knitting Tearoom
I went here last weekend to have breakfast, as a friend had recommended the coffee there. They use Coffee Supreme beans. She also mentioned house made jams and the like there, so I was pretty excited to try the place out. It was a Sunday, so a wait was to be expected - we were told that the wait time was 15 minutes, by an unfriendly woman just past the entrance. This, I also expected, as I had read reviews about the owner being quite sour-faced to everyone who walked through the door. The waitress who served us at the table was friendly enough though. <br/><br/>Both my sister and I ordered something from the specials menu. The paper menu was quite limited, but the specials menu looked quite more varied and impressive, and it apparently changes in theme every so often - for this particular week, it was American. I was very tempted to order the 'French toast drenched in peanut butter, with caramelised peanuts and peanut butter ice-cream', but decided to be good and opted for the green tomato and corn tart with a salad side. My sister ordered baked eggs. <br/><br/>The coffee, which was nice enough, came out relatively quickly, but then came the long wait before the food came out. I'd say too long for what we had ordered. And when it did, it turned out they had written down the wrong order for me. So, off it went back into the kitchen, and there was another wait before my tart came out. By this stage, I was so hungry that I was glad to have any food in front of me. Food tastes better when you're hungry, right? Well, I was obviously not hungry enough to trick my tastebuds with this one. It tasted like a very bland quiche, and the salad leaves had way too much acidic dressing over it that didn't make it taste good. I love pistachios, but it just doesn't work over these leaves. The tastiest part of the dish was the crumbled fetta cheese and onion rings in the salad. My sister's baked eggs looked like they were poached and then thrown into a really watery tomato sauce (like when you don't deseed your tomatoes before cooking them down), and sprinkled with the tiniest bit of cheese (?) before being briefly finished under the broiler. Sorry if this was not the case; but this is what it looked and tasted like. <br/><br/>For the long wait, I expected really good food, and was rather disappointed. The coffee was not bad, but as I can get this from elsewhere, e.g. Merriweather coffee shop, I don't see myself returning here. I *may* be willing to give something else on the specials menu a whirl one of these days, if there is less of a wait time.
Hungry Gal
The food here is nice I will give the jam pantry that. The real chocolate on the cappuccinos, the revolving specials menu and the sweets in the cabinet are all great & would make want to continue to visit except there is one big thing which has led me to vow to never step foot there again - the owner and her attitude. This woman needs to crack a smile once in a while instead of acting like its a privilege for us to attend her cafe. Her attitude has been the same every single time I have attended - frosty and like I am an inconvenience. I hope others boycott your cafe because of your demeanour.
The Other Jenners
Was stoked when The Jam Pantry opened up around the corner from us in the old Thai Tasty location! The food here super fun and I love the fact they have a Monthly Specials board, use plenty of super fresh seasonal produce and to top it all off the quirky house made Nimms condiments are sensational. I suggest getting here early (around 7:40am) if you want first dibs on a table, otherwise expect a bit of a wait...which is TOTALLY worth it for the delicious albeit occasionally bizarre flavour combos. Our tip - if you want to escape the extremely loud indoor setting, opt for a table outside. In saying that, if you're heading here for a big catch up and plan on being able to hear the person opposite you, this is probably not the best location.
Susan
Very disappointing. Coffee was undrinkable. Not worth the very long wait to get a table. Service from owner (?) was rude. Overall a very overrated cafe.
Nadine
Absolutely love this place, I have become a regular. Love that the specials board changes frequently. Only real negative I have is the knives are so incredibly blunt and make cutting anything almost impossible and often find food flying off my plate while attempting to cut. Please get better knives!!!!
Kai Luv
This is one of those cafes that is great on some levels but disappointing on others. The food offers some unusual combinations that for the most part work, and the decor is lovely. However it can be very very noisy when busy (sound bouncing off hard surfaces) and while the wait staff are mostly nice, the owner? can be really quite tart and impatient. A shame as with so many good cafes on offer in Brisbane, these small things can make all the difference when it comes to getting repeat business.
Brendan
Great experience at The Jam Pantry and finally a great little place on the south side. The place was packed on a friday morning (must be good) and tables were limited but we had a nice spot out the front in the sun. Great range of meal options (spoilt for choice) and the meals were delicious. Would come here again.
HungryBella
Jam Pantry does not disappoint. Nims Eggs with the banana chutney and bacon is a breakfast that I constantly think of. I love the board that has the ever changing food specials, keeps it exciting. My only letdown is that the cafe doesn't seem to cater for kids.<br/><br/><br/>Update! I've recently been back and it seems Jam Pantry now offer high chairs and seem more family friendly! Big thumbs up.
Michelle Romans
Arrived at Jam Pantry and were told there would be a 10-15 minute wait for our table....30 minutes later we were seated (other people that arrived after us were seated first...same number of people?), we then had to wait another 40 minutes for our food and had to chase up our coffee - this is all very unfortunate because the food was interesting and tasty, the coffee not bad and the ambiance in the cafe...lovely.  I appreciate that the wait is due to their popularity, I think an extra staff member and an honest/realistic wait time needs to be provided to patrons.  A side note, have arrived twice previously before closing time to be turned away as they decided to close early for the day.  As a business just up the road from them, this is very disappointing.  Glad we've tried the breakfast, will however not return or recommend.

A lot of positives to this place. Fast, friendly service (even though it was busy), cute fit-out, the most amazing hot chocolate (which i wouldn't normally order but they looked so good), an innovative and ever-changing seasonal menu with yummy, reasonably priced food. Unfortunately though, at the risk of sounding like a fuddy duddy, the noise was just about unbearable. As in, we rushed through our meal so we could get the h*ll out, we could hardly hear ourselves think let alone talk. The combination of family friendly (i.e lots of kids; I suspect from his banging the cute toddler next to us is a future heavy metal drummer), hard surfaces and a dishwasher that seems to be eternally emptied of crockery makes for a chaotic, deafening environment. I'm just glad i wasn't hung over.... a shame because i'd go back for the food. Oh, coffee was average, beans are Supreme so i suspect the issue was with the barista.
M_harro
No table.. Waited 45 minutes for a table, had people who came along after us get a table before us. I then enquired as to when we were due and found out our names hadn't been written down. We went elsewhere. Not impressed.

Had breaky today . Great menu plenty for someone who doesn't eat egg and bacon . Would be good to see another savoury vegetarian dish . Great service would go back

Dissapointed. I understand mothers day is a busy time of year but I have never been met with such unprofessional customer service over the phone before in my life. <br/>Simply called to see if a reservation was possible for this Sunday and the lady on the other end scoffed and almost laughed at me stating 'you'd be better off having a picnic' and 'you've stuffed up and left it too late'. <br/>So I asked if I could leave my details if by chance a table cancels last minute. I was left with another laugh so I decided to hang up. <br/>I'm from interstate and wanted to set up a nice lunch for my mum on mothers day. Don't tell me I've stuffed up because obviously the restaurant stuffed up by hiring an egotistical Dragon such as yourself.
Deelicious
Unique and delicious food and lovely atmosphere. I have been to the Jam Pantry half a dozen times for breakfast, and have always received unique and delicious food accompanied by efficient and cheery service. The negative reviews I have read here have not been my experience at all. Yes it can get very busy on weekends (I wish they opened earlier on weekends), so be prepared to arrive early or face a decent wait. In my opinion, it's worth it.
Matt
Good food/coffee but the $10 eftpos minimum is basically preventative of grabbing a takeaway coffee. Silly rule only costs business

Consistently the best eggs I have ever had. I live nearby and I go here all of the time. I've been six times now and this store consistently has the best poached eggs I have ever had. Perfectly gooey yolks and no runny whites, and they are scrumptious. Nims eggs is an amazing dish and it is my favorite from the set menu. Also the fritters, fennel, poached eggs with orange hollandaise were by far the best I have ever had in my entire life. <br/><br/>I am reading some of the reviews on here about how their eggs are rubbery. All I can say is that you guys must have gone on a day where these guys are too busy. I have worked in hospitality for 10 years and I know that you try to please everyone but sometimes you can't and you make mistakes. It happens. <br/><br/>These guys are happy to rectify any problems and the staff are always polite and happy to help. If you have had a bad experience here i urge you to give this lovely little place another chance, perhaps during the week where there is much less traffic. <br/><br/>You will not be disappointed. Get Nims eggs. You will die happily in flavor country,

My mom has been for breakfast a few times and has been dying to take me. As soon as I walked in a recognised the owners from comfort at my table at Milton which used to be one of my favourite breakfast places. Our coffees were amazing!!! We ordered one of the specials but changed it slightly thinking it was so big deal. We had Nim the head chef and owner come out and talk to us personally about the flavours of the meal and what she would recommend instead. We were both amazed at the quality of service and how great it was for the head chef to personally recommend alternatives to us instead of us being disappointed with out altered meal. Our meals were of course amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

The Jam Pantry. I went to Jam for breakfast and I can't stop talking about the amazing food and service ! I highly recommend trying out this beautiful southside cafe as it was a beautiful dining experience :)

Don't let the hype disguise below average food and above average wait. I decided to give this restaurant a chance even though their previous popular restaurant let me down... I don't know why I got sucked into the hype! We were there on a Sunday morning and prepared for a wait. We waited 30 minutes for a table which I think is pretty reasonable at peak time in Brisbane on the weekend. However, we then waited a further 55 minutes to receive our meals. This would have been forgivable if they delivered an amazing breakfast... they did not. Our table ordered corn fritters and eggs benedict and all four of our eggs were very badly overdone, no runny yolk in sight they were like bouncy balls!! This meant that the corn fritters were just dried up doughballs and inedible. I can't remember ever not eating a breakfast after waiting 1hr and a half for food, I was starving when I got there and walked out 50 dollars poorer and twice as hungry!

Diana. I was actually curious to why the Jam Pantry is always so busy? So we just had to pop along for Sunday Breakfast. I was pleased we arrived early as there was already a wait line outside & when the door finally opened there was a mass exedus to the door!!! We luckily scored a seat outside as we had the pooch in tow, who incidently was made to feel very welcome. We didn't have to wait as long as expected for coffee or food & when it came out we were pleasantly suprised. They have an edge on everything they put out -to put it simply avocado is not just plain avocado. Try it with the strawberries & pistachio crumb- just yum. My partner had the pulled pork which came out in a cute old fashioned pie tin. If I have one whinge it wa sthe coffee was inconsistant between the two cups. One was great (luckily mine) My partner must have got the short straw because he said it was pretty weak -no coffee hit & not hot as we ordered.

Jam pantry. Busy, too noisy with the wooden floor, long waits to be seated and again to be served, inexperienced wait staff.

Love it. My friends and I met for brunch today and I must say The jam pantry is lovely. We saw them listed as a top 15 place for brekky in The Courier Mail and were very excited to support a local. The staff were lovely and working very hard to look after a such big crowd on a Friday. We think everyone in town must have seen the same article on Monday. I think if it wasn't so crazy, our experience would have been a perfect 10, but we're still going to give them a 10 in spite of the crazyiness. The service was friendly and as swift as could be, the coffee was a little slow to arrive but that Barista was working overtime and delivered a very nice cup. The food was very much out of the box and very fresh. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back. Thankyou Jam Pantry.

Disappointing........terrible service!. Friday morning we ordered coffee and muffins,... It was not very busy. We had to wait 35 minutes for our coffees which came after we finished our muffins. We kept asking for our coffees and told we had to wait our turn. The service was terrible. Don't get caught up waiting in line thinking you may be missing out on great food and service. Will never return!

Went to jam pantry on Thursday at around 11am , they were relatively busy but still had 8 tables spare. I wanted to get a takeaway iced latte and just a side of bacon ( 2 pieces) which would only take 2-5mins at any cafe.. I was only allowed a small portion of food before I had surgery on a Tumor in my stomach...But I got refused food. They said it was too busy. I have never been to a cafe that refuses food like that. It is a local cafe of mine but I won't be back.

The "fuss" wasn't what I expected. Living only a couple of suburbs away we thought to try this new café everyone was raving about but unfortunately our experience wasn't met with warm welcomes or smooth, brain stirring coffee. Whilst the food was the only thing that gave this café justice, the rest of our time there was a waste. Coffee was diluted so much it tasted like water. It was bitter and milk was burnt. I was unimpressed with having to pay $4 for a bad (very small cup) of coffee. There were no greeting or "warm welcomes" other people have spoken of came our way either. We were sat down in an area where we had a wall blocking half of the restaurant and so we were not able to see the specials board. In any café or restaurant I believe it is not the paying customers job to ask for specials, rather the staff should know well enough to mention this when diners sit at your table. As this was our first visit we had no idea where this board was and whilst many might say "how can you not see it when you walk in" we were too busy trying to follow the waitress telling us where our table was. For all the hype that this café is receiving it's definitely just about the food and not about the whole experience. I really wish this place ticked all the boxes but in my books, sadly it doesn't.

The Jam Pantry has been top on my list of ‘place to go’ ever since it opened. As a big fan of Nims and Gideon’s food at Comfort at my Table, I was really looking forward to experiencing their new venture and I am pleased to say that I wasn’t disappointed. I visited with two of my best girlfriends – who are seasoned Jam Pantry-ers having been multiple times – and after a short wait, we were seated inside. First things first, I just wanted to mention the gorgeous interior of the cafe. It’s bright and cheerful and so very welcoming

Breakfast Bliss!. Wow, what a beautifully styled cafe to be at on a Sunday morning! I was in a group of 6 (weekend bookings of 4 or more are definitely advised) this morning and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our breakfast outing. From the famous Nims Eggs through to the delicious scrambled eggs with orange zest, coriander and smoked trout. Eggs were poached and scrambled perfectly, and the crispy bacon is to die for! I must also mention the service... this cafe was at capacity from when we arrived at 8:30am to when we left at 10am and we could not fault the staff. They were timely in taking our beverage and food orders along with clearing our table and ensuring we had cold water. The kitchen staff also must have a routine down pat, as we only waited about 15 minutes for all 6 meals to be served. Well done to The Jam Pantry...we will be back!

Terrible experience. Lovely cafe, beautiful decor and reasonable coffee.<br/>Unfortunately the experience was let down by the rudeness the owner showed to our table.<br/>She was extremely dismissive and I will not be returning.<br/>Worst customer experience I can ever recall having in Brisbane!

One of a kind cafe!. So impressed with everything on offer here at Jam Pantry! The food is absolutely spectacular, and I love the fact the owners are adventurous with their food board! It's always so hard to choose from the specials because they all sounds so delicious! My favourite meal so far has been the roasted tomato and goats cheese omelette, so good I had to come back for seconds!! Each time I've been there the service has been fantastic, even when it's been very busy. The meals are very reasonably priced when you see the time and effort that's gone into them. I'm officially obsessed with Jam Pantry and will be coming back for a very long time! Give it a go, and don't be afraid to try some of the more 'interesting' meals.. You won't be disappointed!

Half Menu not available, parking impossible. I caught up with a friend of mine who suggested that we meet at the Jam Pantry for lunch as it is "really nice" place. Firstly, hard to get a park and had to park 2 streets away and when we went to order they were out of salads, fritters, open sandwiches and a couple of other dishes. Given that it was 1pm on a Friday and we went there for lunch it seems as though there was very poor planning or ordering of supplies for the café. We ended up having avocado on toast - two pieces of toast & about half an avocado for $9.00 - I must say the toast was nice but given that I don't usually eat bread was disappointed that quite a few of the dishes of not a very extensive menu weren't available. I was also disappointed that they did not have much of a range of jams, relishes & chutneys - as a suggestion thought homemade jams, relishes & chutneys could add extra interest to the place.

Nice atmosphere and even nicer food. Went here for a Birthday breakfast with my wife.<br/>We had a great cup of coffee followed by an even better breakfast (I recommend the BLT).<br/>Atmosphere and Prices are also very good (roughly $15 for a decent sized plate).<br/>Customer service was also very good and everyone in the place seemed happy.<br/><br/>Worth a visit? Absolutely<br/><br/><br/>-----22 Feb, 2015-----<br/><br/>BLT. Bacon, Aioli, Roma Tomato, Water Cress on a beautifully prepared bun with, get this, Bacon Jam!<br/><br/>Incredible and highly recommended!

The Jam Pantry is housed in a cute converted shop just off Logan Rd with the eating area in the sunny front section, plus a small room off to the side, and the kitchen is at the back. Decorated similarly to Comfort At My Table but slightly less kitsch and girly with soft blue-grey hues and timber furniture. The waitresses were adorably outfitted in florals with 50s-style hairstyles and makeup. A large chalkboard hangs on the left hand side of the cafe and displays the ever-rotating specials based on seasonal produce and whatever magical combinations Nims has dreamt up under deceptively simple headings such as 'Eggs', 'Cereal', 'Waffles' and 'French Toast'. Additionally there is the 'standard' menu which includes the classic Nims' Eggs, much to my delight.

...they stumbled upon a wonderful new venue that could double up as a cafe! The Jam Pantry is housed in a gorgeous old Queensland house, in a retro French country theme! A very intriguing menu featuring dragon fruit in a lot of savoury dishes!

I was dumbfounded when I saw this meal coming to my table! It was rustically presented and the serving was generous. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of that meal and was very satisfied.

My local cafe. The atmosphere, the food, coffee, service- all amazing! My favourite thing is all the food combinations you wouldn't think of, they are all amazing. I love going here!

Hungry and disappointed. My partner and I were regulars at Comfort at my Table and spent many mornings (a few times a week) there until Nims moved on. We were so excited to trek across town and try Jam Pantry and headed there for breakfast last Saturday morning. <br/><br/>It was very busy so we didn't mind waiting for a table. That's sadly where our patience grew a little thin. After being seated we waited half an hour before being asked if we would like drinks (after finally getting a waitresses attention - we were seated in the far corner of the back room) and then another half hour after that before we were asked if we would like to order. We then had to ask for cutlery after our meals arrived - finally being able to dig in 1.5 hours after being seated. <br/><br/>The food was good - ordered old favourites but we thought the menu was pretty basic. As we were leaving we spotted the specials board - would have loved to have known before we ordered. Overall there are still major issues with service and we left really disappointed. Jam doesn't seem to have the same warm and friendly atmosphere that made Comfort so appealing. It definitely feels much more like a money churning business. Sorry Nims, we probably won't be back in a hurry.

This establishment has been open 1.5months so still needs has a few teething issues. The food itself was good. The cafe itself is loud and over crowded. The aircon does not keep up with the amount of bodies in there so you are sitting in a pipping hot room. The service is average. They are to busy to take the time to listen to your full order, excusing themselves to fix another problem for another table multiple times. We waited 45mins for toast with a pesto, tomato, cheese and apple and some egg and bacon on toast. It was only because we asked for it that it came out quicker as we had somewhere to be. The food itself was delicious. Will I go back? I think so, but I won't go on the weekend unless it's for an eary breakfast. Oh and the coffee was great.

Good Muffin. I had a very tasty muffin the best I have had in a while. The coffee was also enjoyable. I was happy to feel the air cons. go on.

Worth the wait in line to get in on a Sat - a fantastic little find getting big raves!. A quirky little modern county styled restaurant delivering a whole new taste experience for those who love a clean, new, fresh experience. The 'food boards' change regularly, impressive for a restaurant which opened only in the past few weeks, and I was informed by staff that all components of the dishes are made on site (no commercially produced ones seen either). For those who're just grabbing a coffee and cake, the baked goods are also made in-house and tweaked to the owners taste, as she tells me. She deserves a gold star for her bakes, they are to....die....for - ask for the iced vo vo, best slice I've had in a long long time! So, 'what grandma made', but with flare!<br/><br/>It's a place that will pleasantly surprise you, 5 star food brought to the belly of the normally less-than-impressed expectant foodie like me. Price v reasonable for the service and food delivered - my fiancé and I ordered each a lunch consisting of a main, cold drinks, coffees, slices (plus one to take away) at around $60 - rare for us, he's a big eater yet he walked away very satiated.<br/><br/>I know that I'm raving, and my friends and family are too, but you've just got to try this place for yourself. The flavour combinations will surprise you. Despite the menu sounding rather 'safe' and somewhat the 'usual order', I must warn you , if you're after a standard 'bacon and eggs' brekky you'll be disappointed, boring old eggs benedict is what you won't get here. Even the sandwich is a sit down affair. Put away your double pluggers for this little resturant, stlyle and a great flavour experience is what you'll get rather than a large serving of same ole Stralyan grill-fest!<br/><br/>Oh, btw, the owner, as if running the restaurant is not enough, I hear she's branching her business to launch her own range own jams, relishes, chutneys, a quirky but plausible platform to launch from, but it works for me. I bought a jar of banana chutney on my way out - yaaaaarm, a real five sites treat with thin slices of double smoked on toasted chibata.<br/><br/>Downside- expect a wait in line on a Sat. It's new, and iis hot on social media (esp Facebook is bringing in the numbers). Try it on a week day, much quieter and you won't rush the experience, or wait for service amongst the heat of so many other bodies. Only wish it'd open on a Sun too :(

The heat and wait on meals was excessive! Saying this- it was the first Saturday of opening so a little understandable.<br/> The whole pantry breakfast with slow cooked lamb was excellent. The BLT needed whole bacon as well as the bacon jam. Not the best. Will go again- but maybe only on a cool weekday.

Love it. I'm so glad a cafe has opened up this end of Logan Rd. The coffee is absolutely fantastic, the bacon is so crispy and delicious. I love the blackboard menu boards, they have a great selection of different meals that sound amazing. The wait staff are really friendly. All in all a great little cafe.

Different and refreshing. I live around the corner, so....one visit only so far, but that one revealed a rather quirky dish, they call it "The Whole Pantry". Its basically pulled Lamb with a pea mash, haloumi, fried eggs and a lot of fried flatbread. The really different part is the addition of a peach relish. I thought about it long and hard, I don't think I have ever eaten lamb and peach combined in a dish. But, surprisingly it works. The sweetness of the peach is not over bearing the melt in your mouth lamb!! What didn't like is they serve it in an enamel tray, that reminds me of a hospital in the 70's....but that's just me. Still highly recommended. Apart from that, great coffee. More soon.<br/>The owners did a great job to lighten up the former rather bland Thai restaurant. Its all open and quite inviting, with lots of whites and natural timber.<br/>Definitely a great addition to the area, now we have Lady Marmalade at one end, Shady Palms in the middle, and the Jam Pantry at the other end. Greenslopes seems to go strong...

Wait for food and heat in cafe excessive. I understand that when any new venue opens there are bound to be kinks that will need ironing out and I'm usually willing to give a venue a second chance to impress me once they're running smoothly. However I found myself so frustrated at the Jam Pantry this morning that I highly doubt I'll return. The heat inside the cafe was excessive. I can only assume there was an issue with the air conditioning. This would be even more frustrating for staff as it was for patrons (who were visibly very hot and fanning themselves) - one near by table even used a table decoration to prop open a window because they were so desperate for some cool air. The heat is a problem that definitely could be forgiven if we didn't have to wait so long for our food. It took a good 15 minutes before our drinks were brought to us and then it was about an hour until we got our meals. At NO stage were we warned that there was a wait on food. Had we been warned we probably would have had a coffee and headed off with no hard feelings, We would have returned on a less busy day when the cafe was more established. There were plenty of wait staff available to communicate the wait time to customers but it just didn't happen. I was keen to give feedback about the wait time when I paid for my meal but we weren't asked how the meal/experience was. So whilst the food was good the heat, waiting time for food and service (due to lack of communication about wait times) was a big problem.

Today I was on a mission, travelling in one direction with no stops to a new kid on the cafe block, the Jam Pantry at Greenslopes
ohhh my too many boy bands in that sentence. Naomi or Nim to her friends has opened a gorgeous cafe using seasonal produce with a focus on yummy jams, chutneys, relishes and pickles. The menu does change with the seasons beautifully illustrated on a wall of small blackboards. We were greeted by one of Nim’s gorgeous staff who quickly attended to our every need. Another cafe with fantastic service I am feeling the love already Nim!

This morning I had the good fortune to be invited out by Nat for a coffee at The Jam Pantry on it's opening day. Highly recommended by a friend who had been there for breakfast, we were looking forward to something a little special and we were not disappotined.  The Jam Pantry has it all, a fabulous interior, great seating options (small, medium and large group arrangements), excellent food, great coffee and that certain je ne sais quoi.
