Authentic Japanese, food is outstanding.
First time trying out this izakaya. We ordered the Monday special of a half price large sushi platter ($12.50) and the Brisbane sushi roll. Amazing customer service with staff who are knowledgeable about their offerings. The platter had an assortment of nigiri which was a great introduction to raw sushi. 100% recommend the Brisbane roll, the textures and flavours are amazing!
My favourite restaurant in Brisbane. Every part of the experience has intent, the food is fresh and well executed in a gorgeous open kitchen where you can view the masters. Even the homewares add to the experience namely the ENORMOUS ramen bowls.
Attention to detail all for a comparable price to your local chinese takeaway, highly recommend
Tried the bento boxes for lunch, delicious food and reasonably priced! Tempura was good quality and gyoza were tasty too. Friendly staff, nice decor inside. I’d go back.
It’s Anzac Day and many restaurants along Boundary Road are packed to the rafters. We get a table at Falalalah but we are told there is a 45 minute wait for meals. Across the road we see Birds Nest Yakitori and Okuman. Walking into Okuman we see it is almost empty. Hallelujah!
*Large Sashimi ($40) is nicely presented. Every Sashimi item is fresh and delicious. Taking value into consideration, this small serving of Sashimi is disappointing.
*Tempura Platter ($18) is piping hot and well prepared. A small serving, it has two Medium Prawns, one slice of Fish and five pieces of assorted Vegetables are all tasty. Japanese restaurants generally serve two Large Tiger Prawns.
We like our meal here but the servings are surprisingly small. Our overall rating is marked down a point to 4.0!

This place is becoming a go to for lunch. I like the vegan ramen here with extra shallots and chilli. The soup was delicious and a bit salty. Teriyaki chicken is good value for $8.50 takeaway. Friends had a chicken bento and it looked alright but very fried.
Need to come in for dinner as the bigger meals look delish and it’s got a great atmosphere.
We had the best Japanese food of our life in this restaurant , and we were recently in Japan. So don't miss this place. We are vegetarian and tried almost every vegetarian dish and every single one of them wowed us. The service and the ambient is very Japanese with extremely polite staff.
Oh.. My..ZOMATO ! Real sushi that melts like glorious butter and the egg custard.. Oh the seafood egg custard. So beautiful. Only overshadowed my the amazing customer service and friendly help.

This place iz can taste amazing!
First up we had the miso, which had beautiful wakame and unexpectedly a chopped beansprout. Was full of flavour and a solid opener.
The edamame was cooked well and salted.
The agedashi tofu was rich and silky (as you might expect from silken tofu), slimy and full of well balanced umami and salt from the bonito flakes.
The nigiri selection (swordfish, yellowtail, salmon, scallop, tuna and prawn), sashimi selection (of salmon, tuna and swordfish) were all almost completely on-point. All were fresh for the day and buttery or firm as expected for the species, except for the scallop, which was slightly below expectation.
The tempura prawns were crunchy, hot, fresh and cooked in clean oil at just the right temperature.
The mochi pocket (probably sago flour) was jelly-textured, with a nice little chewiness and chocolatey centre. The black sesame flavour was underdone and I would have preferred black sesame seeds or a 'less trendy' option than cornflakes for the texture change.
Staff here were all completely obliging, smiley and helpful, which I would often associate with the Japanese culture. However that doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the service.
The ambience is warm and inviting, chic and romantic at a level that is expected at the price point.
I deducted for the cornflakes and under-flavoured ice cream as well as the scallop nigiri.
Recommended nonetheless!
This restaurant is really really amazing Foods and staffs is awesome! Everyone have to go! I really love everything! There also has lots of alcohol that is exactly Japanese sake!! I will go again!!!!
Such a great find. Their home made tofu was extraordinary as was everything else we had. Also has a good range of vegetarian dishes. Would love to go back and try all of them.
The chicken curry here is amazing! The chicken is very crispy and the curry is very rich and a great consistency. I've also had the gyozas and they are really nice too. Served with a sort of spicy soy that suits them very well. Prices are very reasonable too!
Holy wow the food here is incredible! Very decent servings too! Staff apologised for a wait that was hardly very long. The bento boxes are very generous for such a price. Best part is you use a QR code to order so you can take as long as you want with looking at the menu. Truly a great place
Incredible food! All the dishes we got were super flavourful but my favourite was definetly the 'Tempura veg rolls', insanely good.
Authentic Japanese place with very nice service!

- have a few good vegan options! Great for veggos and vegans!
- great prices for the area it's in!
Cons:
- the dish was a bit oily.
Fantastic food and a nice atmosphere! The team here are also super polite and very lovely.
