The Story Bridge Hotel is a go-to catch up spot for us, being in such a central location. There's also lots of options for both drinks and food here. The Shelter Bar probably offers the best selection of food at a good price point. On our most recent trip here we had the fried olives, duck pancakes and sweet potato wedges. All were big portion sizes and definitely great value! The duck pancakes in particular were very yummy - so you can forgive them for having to assemble them yourself. Always a good vibe here - we will be back!
A huge pub with a range of areas to drink and dine. The front part had a band playing as well. I ordered san Choy bow, and for $14 was good value for money as I got four pieces. The food menu has a great range on offer, burgers, salads, pizzas and starters. Better than most pub food. Had a few wines and the cocktails were good too. They hold functions and also have big screens for sporting games. It’s the perfect location for a group catch up.
Been trying out my local spots lately and the Brisbane food scene has been surprisingly pleasant. Had the pulled pork roll and a local beer for lunch and it was delicious. Service was smooth and our waiter Chris was hilarious. All in all a relaxed Saturday afternoon.
