I've tried many Indian restaurants and take aways from budget to dine-in in several cities; Klay Oven really hits a high bar. While modest and small in appearance, there is definitely some sort of magic that happens in the kitchen because I've never had Indian food that tastes so beautiful and wholesome. I overheard one of the staff explain that most of their curries are dairy free - yet I found them extremely velvety and creamy, and full of deep and well rounded flavours. I spent well over budget there but don't regret it one bit. I had the Signature Curry, Vege Samosas, lentil puffs and a nice red wine. I only went with a friend but the experience made it feel like a date night. Highly recommend.
We had the best Indian dinner in Brisbane. The owners were very friendly. Prompt service. We will be back!
Nice Indian restaurant - pleasant outdoor seating - food was above standard with freshly made sauces and rich authentic flavours
Klay Oven serves up great curries.
The flavours are authentic and meat/vegetables are of high quality. Service is friendly and efficient
I just had to bring my Husband back. I first tried this with my Son and loved it. Not just great food, great staff & service. This will be a regular haunt.
Location wise I love Teneriffe, so I love the location of the restaurant. It’s a bit noisy though because of the traffic.
It’s got SO many vegetarian options which is great.
Service was a bit slow. I was a bit annoyed but the food was worth waiting. I had stuffed zucchini with rice which was great. It came in a generous portion. My partner had mushrooms and peas curry with medium spice but it was super spicy; much spicier than he’s used to.
Super customer service, and good home style Indian that wasn’t too oily or heavy! And special thanks for being so accomodating of dietary requirements. I’m GF, DF and no onion and no garlic. Curries are made to order from scratch and not bulk pre cooked stuff.
Will be back.
The service was very friendly/helpful, food was excellent compared to local alternatives. It is a little on the pricey side but that's not surprising given the location.
Very good food and friendly service.
One of the only restaurants in Brisbane I have been to who can make very hot, yet well balanced flavoursome curry.
Very consistent super good curries and a good kick of heat when ordering 'medium'. Can't go past the classic chicken tikka & we regularly alternate between roganjosh, sagawala
