Gyoza and beer were excellent, as were the bao buns and karaage chicken. Ramen was served in a massive bowl which looked impressive, however the noodles were a bit gluggy and the broth could have had a stronger pork flavour. Overall 4/5.
The tonkastu ramen is flavorful and easy to finish, unlike saltier or packet variations. While the egg half was still cold inside and edged green/grey yolk (obviously refrigerated), the pork stood its own and allowed a refreshing palate change. The stoneware bowl allowed the ramen to remain hot, and the complimentary water helped cool down the burns I got from slurping up the noodles.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed eating and drinking at Tatsu ramen gyoza bar. I ate all the gyoza on the menu which had wagyu, pork, veggie, hot and prawn fillings. They were great to eat with Asahi Dry Black which was better than normal Asahi. Pork bao was also phenomenal and they fry their buns which took it to another level. Teriyaki tofu was also equally superb. I didn’t get to try ramen (their specialty) so going back there on my next trip! It’s a fantastic bar and I give this place 4 bears.
Great ramen! Excellent spiced karaage! Great atmosphere. Reasonable pricing. Good cocktail list. Fast service. Will definitely be coming back!
Went here for a quick lunch with the partner whilst in Brisbane's China Town.
We ordered the:
- Salmon Sashimi Bento Box: fresh pieces of salmon, crunchy potato cake, fluffy rice and tofu (unfortunately soggy and difficult to handle). Deliciously hot bowl of accompanying miso soup.
- Vegan Ramen: interesting mixture of vegetables, including edamame beans, carrots and beansprouts. The broth was a little light on flavour.
Very friendly and efficient service. Casual ambience. Reasonable prices for the portions given.
Overall, a good lunch stop for comfortable Japanese cuisine.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience here last week! :D
It was a cold winter night and i decided to catch up with my friend for some Ramen to warm us up.
We walked into the restaurant, on Thursday evening and there was a nice cosy little feel to it. The staff welcomed us on the way in and sat us down immediately at a free table to the side of the wall. There were some other people sat around us in groups which created a good atmosphere.
I love the decor in this venue, and the lighting made it extra cosy. We both went for the Spicy ramen, which was just perfect, and got some of the spicy Gyoza as well...everything spicy to warm us up! The ramen was served in Extra large bowls which was a funny/nice touch, kind of like a gimmick, but inside the bowl, there were no gimmicks, just really delicious high quality ramen. The staff touched base with us a few times, and refilled my water any time it was empty which was great, and overall it was a very pleasant experience.They certainly did enough to secure some repeat business from my friend and I, and we look forward to going back (maybe this week or next)
My personal favorite is their Akaoni extra hot ramen , sooo good !! This place is hidden away in China town not easily noticed , but once you taste their ramen youbll keep coming back !!
Visited this restaurant for dinner. Staff are very nice, welcoming and attentive. Very fast service. We loved berry blossom mocktail. We had a voucher. Despite our mistake about their set menu suitable for omnivores they warmly offered us a vegetarian menu. I had Japanese food only a few times. Food was nice. The ambience was nice too. It wasn’t noisy.
I went there for ramen some friend. We all enjoyed so much we're going back next week. We ordered the assorted gyoza, tonkotsu ramen and vegan soo ramen. Staff were very attentive and helpful with us. The establishment was also clean and tidy.
This place was cosy, friendly, and had an impressively diverse and wordly drinks list (including mocktails, sochu, Japanese beers, and plum wine). Most memorably, it was home to THE BIGGEST spice challenge in my living memory.
We all very bravely, and against our innermost cautions, ordered the extra extra spicy ramen. It came in beautiful and humongous tilted bowls with equally humongous spoons, and soon was filled with our tears and snot as we struggled through the heat. From what I tasted, it was delicious, but next time I think I'll go one step down spice wise! My arrogance around my penchant for spice is now humbled and I urge other arrogant spice lovers to embrace the challenge (but maybe work your way up).
We also got the vegetarian gyoza, which were really delicious, and a few beers too.
The staff were great and the ambiance lovely - not sure why it wasn't buzzing, as it was a fab place and I would love to try it again!
