Had a Saturday dinner at this local gem located inside the Hotel Grand Chancellor of Spring Hill. It was not a busy night so the ambience was very peaceful. Perused the menu and decided to go for 2 courses meal with entrees and mains only because we were not that hungry.
Entrees of seared scallops and the crab & snapper cake are both delicious. Particularly, it was the first time that I had the crab & snapper cakes, which was interesting. Mains of both protein were above average in terms of quality and culinary skill. Love the smoked mushrooms and the potato gratin accompanied with the wagyu cut. On the other hand, the refreshing taste with saltiness from the cheese match well with the med-rare rib fillet.
For the price that was charged, the 2 courses set provides a very high CP ratio. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Rating 4.5/5 with half mark extra for the friendly and attentive service. Cheers!
Good quality, good service. We ordered a steak (eye fillet) and the lamb. Both were cooked as we asked for. Meal size was decent too.
Service was friendly.
Enjoyable night.
Not cheap but the food is tasty. Quite expensive (around $34 per meal) but yummy food! We ate in the café area as they were pretty quiet. I thought our server was friendly and attentive. I think they could expand their dessert menu a little, but my family and I all enjoyed our meals.
The two course dinner is very good value, though the dishes were somewhat uninspiring, perhaps matching the decor. The service was a little on the unattentive side, but it was pretty crowded.
There's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to food here is great I normally have had breakfast buffet it's amazing my compliments goes to the chef kudos great job and keep it up you guys are brilliant
Concur wirh Rainer's comments but best thing in neighbourhood it seems on a Monday night
Started the meal with an Old Fashioned - hit the spot! Two courses for about $50 - pork belly for entre, steak for mains - both were fantastic. Service was great - we were very well looked after. The dining room has a nice view and is very comfortable.
What a little gem this place is. Impeccable service from the staff, music in the background so soft you can hear yourself speak softly. An amazing view over the city centre. Ask for a window table when you book. Adored the calamari and chilli entree, loved the duck, but raving over the taste and texture of the whiskey ice cream.
The restaurant is in the Grand Chancellor Hotel so expect a hotel with Modern hotel decor. Views to die for and just a really really nice meal at moderate prices.
I had to give it five stars it’s a winner from me.
Had a beautiful dinner to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.
The service was outstanding from the moment i phoned to book,
Food was fantastic, Special mention to the three ladies who looked
after us and who not only did their job, but went the extra mile to
make it a memorable occasion. Highly recommended.
This was by far the best restaurant I have been to in years. The lamb was amazing so succulent, I would definitely recommend for anyone seeking tastes unexpected from a hotel restaurant.
Excellent service as well as incredible food. Good prices and a lovely atmosphere.
