Modern Greek cuisine and a lively atmosphere.
I was lucky enough to come to Atalanta Bar and Greek for a function and tasted a large range of their platters and I was very impressed with the friendly and upbeat service, food was served quickly, constantly and in large, well presented servings full of colour and a variety of ingredients.
Waiters were all of a very high level of service and filling water and taking drink orders often - which I definitely appreciate.

Best haloumi I've ever had! All food was well seasoned, beautiful flavours and epic portions. Excellent Greek food overall. The goddess fries were more... chips than fries though. Pita was delicious.

So you're probably wondering, why 3.5 rating?
I have to take half a point off for just how LOUD it was, there were other functions happening and I could barely hear the person next to me, had to shout. And another point for the seafood, although it looked incredible - it was quite awful and I spat most of it out. All of the seafood had quite a strong 'fishy' taste and were chewy, so ultimately not fresh and over cooked. There was some kind of peppery fish patty on the platter that I recommend avoiding - the flavour was nightmarish ... the lemon potato mash accompanying it though was AMAZING. Some of the food could of been warmed a little more before serving.

Overall I recommend except for the seafood, which is a shame because Portside has access to many excellent seafood vendors close by.

Last minute decision to have dinner here and turned out to be a great choice. The service was fantastic and the aptmosphere was just right for nice intimate dinner , though with the bar section on the otherside you do get a some random screams and shouts. The food was perfect for sharing , the 12hr slow cooked beef ribs was one of our favourites. It had a little kick to it and also a slight sweetness and went well witht he roast sweet corn. The godess fries was a nice large portion and the crumbed feta and soft herbs gave it a nice flavour and texture. I would say the flaky pastry with spinach did seem slightly over cooked, really the only dish we felt a little dissapointed. The dark chocolate tarte made us forget quickly about that. Fanatastic presentation and a great way to end the meal.
Came here for dinner again and was very impressed with the food and service again. Both mains, the lamb crispy duck where perfectly cooked.prices are very reasonable. We will keep coming back.

Fantastic food! Loved every dish we had. Cocktail and wine selection were great and service much improved from previous visits.
Definitely recommend the Greek Feast. Will be back.

Food and service were good although a little over priced for what you you get. Food was well seasoned and came out very fast. Drinks were really nice too

My wife and I enjoyed a pleasant meal at Atalanta Bar and Greek on a Sunday evening. We dined on Saganaki, Goat Croquettes, the 'Goddess' Fries and the grilled mixed meat skewers for two.

The service was very good (4) and the food was nice (3), but there was nothing exceptional about the meal.

I tried a Greek beer - Mythos - and was not impressed. I would recommend that you steer clear.

I would be happy to return to Atalanta, but won't be in any rush to do so.

After reading previous reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. First and most importantly the table service was excellent. The saganaki was yummy however the meatballs where average and the texture of the prawn mousska was strange ( the crab version on the menu was unavailable)

We had lunch at Atalanta today and were not disappointed. The menu has a great range of dishes and the quality of the food and the service were both excellent. The only let down was the coffee - they really need to review the beans they use.

We went to Atalanta for a special Gazi Pop-up event hosted by George Calombaris. There was a set menu (drinks included) inspired by Melbourne's Gazi menu and cooked by George and the Atalanta team. This was, by far, the best night out we have had in a restaurant for as long as I can remember. We were greeted by friendly Atalanta staff who offered us an aperitif the moment we arrived. After several minutes at the bar we were seated and offered wine. The first course arrived and was delicious. It was then quite a while before the second course came. In the meantime the group arrived for the second seating and from then we seemed to be on the same timetable despite the one hour seating difference (which was my only criticism of the whole night).

The second course was a soft shell crab souva. After eating soft shell crab in an Asian restaurant a while ago I thought I didn't like it but this meal showed me that it can be delicious and not just a tasteless, chewy mass. I could have this dish as a lunch or light meal on its own - fantastic.

The mains arrived. I had asked for no meat and didn't know whether it was possible for my request to be met but it was - seamlessly. The steak was replaced with a delicious piece of barramundi. All other accompaniments stayed the same and went just as well with the fish. The mains were served with 3 salads in the middle of the table. These were not chuck-a-few-leaves-together afterthoughts. These were delicious meals in themselves and were well thought out and well presented. Each course was presented with a matched wine and the Atalanta staff were always there to top up the glasses and make sure we received the very best service.

After all that we were quite full and didn't know how we could possibly fit in dessert. Luckily there was a small break. We were offered ouzo (not a bad palate cleanser as it turns out) and then dessert wine. The Bombe Metaxa arrived in all its flambé glory and looked spectacular. It was sweet and gooey inside. The meringue may have needed more flambéing to offset the sweet taste. It was very sweet and very decedent.

The music played and we chatted to the others at our communal table and generally enjoyed the night until it was time to drag our heavier selves home with goodie bags and big smiles on our faces.

I look forward to returning so I can review Atalanta's usual menu.

Menu was interesting and the food was delicious. The service was also friendly and accommodating. The drink we got in the jug was a little watered down and pricey. All in all a pleasant experience.

The food at Atalanta was flavoursome, tasty and well-portioned. We all walked out burstingly full and at under $50pp including multiple drinks, it was very affordable for such a nice location. My only criticism is that the place is too loud for proper conversations but that is more a reflection of my old age and poor hearing than anything else.

One of my new favourites. Great atmosphere although the restaurant side sometimes got a bit loud but being combined with a bar that's to be expected. Excellent lighting for food & social photos which I really appreciate. Great service where I found our waitress to be very friendly & helpful. Although perhaps not very intuitive as we did have to flag her down a couple of times for the same things (water, drinks, bill).

The food, though!!! Words are difficult to describe how happy I was with the taste and portions of everything we ordered. The only thing that may have been a let down was the lamb in the meat platter. But everything else is to rave for. Would definitely recommend: sand crab moussaka, watermelon feta salad, grilled heirloom carrots, cauliflower with pumpkin hummus. Definitely going back to try the rest of the menu.

And unexpectedly for a restaurant in that precinct there was such generous portion sizes and value for money in everything we ordered. Our party of 4 had a bottle of wine, a cocktail and about 7 to 8 share plates which only came to 60pp. Very reasonable in my opinion.

Fantastic. We brought in a table of 30. Made the chefs wait a quite a while before ordering and after orders placed, food was served within no time. Also received fantastic service from the manager and one particular waitress. Food was amazing aswell. Our group definitely tested the restaurant and overall was a great place to dine. ✔

Enjoyed everything about our experiences at Atalanta!!! We have been able to have several dishes on the menu and plan to continue to visit. The flavors of each entree stood strong. Another stand out were the attentive staff and the restaurants ambience. We highly recommend this establishment!!!!!!

Amazing food, and friendly service. I've had dinner here three times, including last night (NYE). Each time the food has been perfect, and staff very friendly. Can you please add some outdoor fans? Brisbane is very humid.

A perfect spot for a relaxing drink in the afternoon. Staff are always friendly and attentive. The food is great and the chef was very accommodating of my dairy allergy - something often missed in Mediterranean restaurants!

Went to Atalanta for my birthday function with 30 friends. Staff did a fantastic job looking after us for the evening. All guests made particular comment about how awesome the food was. Thanks to the team for making such a special night a truly memorable one.
