Took the advantage of Groupon deal to have Sunday lunch here. Service was very friendly and hospitable. We order 1/2 kg of buffalo chicken wings, grilled eggplant, pork belly, soft shell crab and side dish of grilled corn. Chicken wings were all juicy and matched well with the butter cream. Eggplant was grilled with miso with additional smoked treat, which brought the dish to the next level, well done. Pork belly and soft shell crab were served with a surprisingly rolls. I particularly loved the addition avocado underneath the soft shell crab. Both dishes tasted good and in huge portions. Finally, I have to mention about the grilled corns; they were well caramelised in very nice colour and very sweet. Overall, this bar did serve unexpectedly tasteful dishes, which go well with alcoholic drinks.
Fantastic food and drink. The salmon we had was amazing. My wife has ceoliac disease so she has to be very careful about being exposed to even small amounts of gluten. The chef took time to run through the menu with us, and ensured her meal would be completely free of any traces of gluten. The staff are really friendly. Highly recommended!
Couldn’t fault the food, had the rump cap and wings to share. Sunday night and bar staff looking to take an early flyer, told at 7:40 that they were closing at 9:00 despite an advertised 10:30 close time. From there in, on tenterhooks every time we ordered something. A pity really as good boutique new places hard to find.
Great find. Craft beer on tap with a bar keep that knows what he is talking about. Pork belly heroes that is better than i could have anticipated, i know right pork belly better than i thought it could be. Chilli pork belly fresh mint and coriander and soft bun... just beautiful. Thanks
Exciting boutique beers, simple menu with a unique twist on the snack/ share menu. Lovely Japanese influence on the menu. Give me edamame and beer on a sunny afternoon and I'm happy( outdoor seating available). Friendly knowledgeable staff. Games for the kids. Will definitely return!

The kaarage was a real highlight for me, deliciously crispy and paired with a great dipping sauce. Worth a visit.

Sasquatch bar has a lot of potential. It is a new hip bar, and there are no similar venues around which means not many competitions. It looks like it has a great atmosphere, and when we got there at 7:30pm on Saturday night, it was packed. Their food was pretty good, especially their chicken kaarage. It was one of the best ones I have eaten, and I would go back just for the kaarage. However, they don't really have a main sized meal that is not a sub. In terms of drinks, they were bit of a hit and a miss for us, but I can see more avid craft beer drinkers liking them.
One thing I wasn't particularly raving about was the noise level in the bar. I definitely don't expect a bar to be quiet, but we couldn't talk to each other without shouting. It was a night club noise level due to the small confined space with many people and a live band playing. We wanted to stay longer, but it was way too loud to be able to enjoy being there for hours. As we were about to leave, we found a few seats outside, and it was a lot better, and we were able to stay for longer. It started to get quiet around 8:30pm, so I wondered if the noise was really driving people out.
Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience from nice food, good service and cool atmosphere.
Good food selection, good beer selection, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Inside looks complete, outside still in progress. Hope it does well as the suburbs need more places like this.

I was in the Chermside area today doing some errands and knew that it was gonna be a late day. So decided to find a place to eat. I had read somewhere (ok, the memory is not what it used to be) about this place and driving up Gympie Road I remembered it! This is it! Dinner solved!
Now, this place is new! They haven't quite finished the greenery at the front, but walking inside this place is a winner!
I think the locals have already found this place and claimed it for their new after work drinks place.
Its simple "Canadian Pub" food and nibbles with your drink. Decor is very modern with lots of timber and black paintwork with funky lights!
Staff were friendly and helpful!
We order 2 "heroes" (long hot dog type burgers). I picked the Beef Hero and New Moon chose the Knackwurst Hero, and decided on a side of lattice fries with maple aioli to share.
You order at the bar, they give you a number and the drinks ordered straight up and the food arrived in around 15 minutes later!
The "heroes" were amazingly tasty and the buns, so soft! The fries were tasty, but the aioli was amazing!
The place had a great vibe and was reasonably busy when we arrived at 6.30pm
If you want somewhere different for a relaxing "bevvy" with some tasty nibbles and heroes, you have to check this place out!
The best bar in the area. It has a great chilled atmosphere, excellent selection of beers, and decent enough bar food menu. I liked that they had a few options of zero alcohol beer. It would’ve been good to see more healthy food options on the menu though.

Great bar with delicious food! We ordered a few different items off the menu and we weren’t disappointed. This is a great place for a group of people as there is heaps of bigger table options, heaps of street parking and easy to get to. Love it!
Awesome food, friendly staff. Ready to share food items, so be prepared to share, rather than have an individual meal. The Gluten free pizzas are marvellous!! The entrance is on Gympie Rd, but parking is out back on side streets. If access is an issue, you'll need to go around the front. (So maybe drop first, then park?) Great for older families, not as good if you have kids under 8, imo. (Based on seating& kids' needs, not food) Really enjoyed our dinner. We'll be back.
The brewery throw down events are fantastic highly recommend!
