Always have a large fresh selection available on the train. Good flavours and nice presentation. Go here once every couple of weeks for my sushi fix.
Ginza always looked a little shabby to me from the outside, but I think it's just because of the general wear and tear. Once inside, the sushi train itself looks alright, but my friends and I have always found it unappealing and ordered food off the menu instead. The specials seem to be a bit messy because they're taped up around the restaurant as well as on some of the menus, but even if you order off the "main" menu the prices are around the same anyways. I had the udon and it seemed alright - not too bland or salty, but the flavour wasn't very spot on. The gyoza were good, and my friend enjoyed their curry. This definitely isn't my first choice of dining in Southbank but it's not the worse one either.
One of my favourite lunch options for the variety & quick service, however only a 3.5 as last time I went I ordered a gyoza and it appeared the kitchen forgot about it. After 10-15 minutes I needed to cancel the order as I was in a rush, however I couldn't flag down a server at all. Ended up waiting 20 minutes for one dish which arrived long after I was done eating.
Curry radiates japanese flavour. Hot and fresh and chicken cutlets are sublime and crunchy. Modern decor and conveniently placed next to the cinema. Huge portion for the curry and the sushi train is really neat. Overall pleasant place.

Ginga Sushi Bar - South Brisbane. Attached next door to the cinema in South Bank, Ginga has two different sections focused on a different aspect of Japanese cuisine - one of them is an Asian-fusion variety while the other one is a simple sushi train (or more properly, a sushi conveyer belt). I ended up at the latter so to try the fusion will be a later day. Some of those dishes do look good.
Upon seating, the waitress whom showed me to a chair asked if I wanted to have a drink to begin with and I ordered a green apple tea getting the tea green. This was served in the signature cups that bubble tea is served in, and one waitress was kind enough - when she saw I was trying to peel back the film not being able to pierce it - to jam the straw straight in. As usual the tea was refreshing, subtle in flavour and smooth in texture.
Knowing that I could easily rack up the bill I kept a close eye on the plate colour and how many there were. Infact, they give you a paper clip and tally mark up the different plate colours and extras requested. Also, I had a movie to get to in less than an hour. From the belt I got a packet of wasabi then plate of inari sushi (the familar and well-beloved bean curd pockets), a plate of sea weed sushi, a plate of kimchi, some gyozas and a chicken & avocado nagiri. Each one was really fresh, had great ingredients and I felt satisfied after them.
First, the inari is fantastic in its simplicity with the soy-infused tofu. Then the seaweed mixed with chili is always one that is a winner with me as well as the gyozas. My favourite was the ultimate the selection - the chicken and avocado nagiri - which had a creamy combination of mayonnaise with the avocado and a bit of crumbed chicken. If there is one thing I have to say, maybe the kimchi would have been switched in retrospect as it does make for a decent side - especially in Korean cuisine - but cannot really sustain itself as a lone bit of food.
Maybe not the best sushi to find in Brisbane, however this is a good and filling option for movie dwellers or just a quick lunch. It is always an option if the circumstances pop up again.
We weren't initially happy as we were sat outside and there was a strange smell around the table. However, once we moved in everything was fine and we went on to enjoy our food. There was the flexibility for the adults to order off the al la carte menu while the child in our group ordered from the sushi train menu. I can particularly recommend the Salmon Bimbimpa but other meals looked good too.

Movies and sushi. Such a good sushi train i go there all the time i have a big bite to eat for lunch then i go see a movie
curiously they always seem to have the same anime playing on the big screen or perhaps its a anime series
the food is a good price and there is a good variety its everything you expect from the ginga chain the train is always heaving with people i often go alone so i can slip in and eat alone but if your in a group you might have to wait to be seated but it is worth the wait
i find i never have to order sushi from the staff there always seems to be something i love going around on the train
the staff are very good at what they do the manager is a little stiff but the girls they have as waitresses are just lovely
i have not had the ice cream they serve there but that's only because i tend to fill up on sushi so when i go to buy ice cream i find i couldn't possibly eat any more
i sat in the sit down restaurant part once but i didn't like it it was great the food came quickly and it was delicious i just prefer to sit at the train to eat
it is the perfect date night restaurant see a movie then go and discuss the movie over some sushi it really is top notch

I have been coming here for years. It's Japanese and it's reliably the same. Tasty if a bit simple but that's what you would expect walking in. I love their ramens and the range of options available. Mostly friendly staff.
Of all the times I have been, i was unhappy once and my meal was replaced and then they didn't charge me for it.
I will continue to return.
Great before a movie to fill up and avoid some of those lollies
I’m a regular at this sushi train. There is always a good variety of fresh sushi and they recently added delicious poke bowls, which are filling and great for take away, since they are packed in small containers. Another section of the restaurant is the typical restaurant layout (without the train) where you can order hot rice and ramen dishes.
Good prices and reliable. In my one week trip to Brisbane I went there 3 times and that’s the best compliment I can give to a place.
