I was not very sure of The Indian Kitchen before visiting it. But once i was here i felt so much at ease and peace. Rather i would say i was very calm on visiting it with my friend.
chicken wings and rasmalai both should be tried. Chicken wings nearby have 4-5 pieces and the presentation looks moire appealing with some green leaves on it.
Rasmalai was very soft and was close to what we actually get in India.
I only recently went here for the first time and I can't believe I didn't go sooner. The food here is so cheap, great for a meal out when you're trying not to spend too much. I got rice and three curries for $8.00. Absolutely loved the garlic dahl here and also liked the lamb madras but it was listed as medium and I didn’t detect any spice. We also got a garlic naan which was made fresh in store and was quite enjoyable. It's not somewhere you would take people for a nice night out but definitely a place where you can get a good feed for under $10.00.
When you walk or drive past - you wouldn't expect the food to be as good as it is. Yes, M & I were judgmental of the initial appearance of the place but I really loved the food! The mango chicken was creamy and delicious, the naan bread was fresh and extremely delicious (it's hard to come across naan bread that isn't though). Rice is cooked perfectly and the little side dishes were yummy- oily but yummy.
Unfortunately, the lamb korma was a bit watery. Not as good as other Indian places we have eaten so that is why I've knocked my rating from a 4.0 to a 3.5.
Great prices... that's always great.
We live in Kangaroo Point and still travel to get the cheapest Indian in the Brisbane Core. It's really cheap so doesn't look like much and they only accept cash, but the food is perfect for a quick, lazy dinner and tastes great. Would definitely recommend for a takeaway dinner night.
The food was great. The service was friendly and very prompt. The atmosphere was terrific with the Indian music and video clips. The prices were unbelievable!! We drive in from Sunnybank once a week to eat there and I would highly recommend the Indian Kitchen to anyone. Try the Lamb Korma!! Sam & Cathy Watson.

+3.5
Ducked into The Indian Kitchen for a quick curry after my lunch plans fell through.
This was my third visit here. My first two trips here were polar opposites - the vegetarian curries on the first trip were really good (4), but the second visit was for Chicken Tikka Naan (2) and Samosas (2.5), neither of which hit the mark.
Today I went with Chicken Korma and Rice. The chicken was very tender and it was a generous serving for $8, but it was very wet and pretty bland - to be fair it was advertised as mild, but there is a difference between the level of spice and flavour in general. The fact that there was a small bone in my last bite of chicken didn't impact my rating.
Good price and you can be in and out in a matter of minutes, so I'm sure I'll return at some point.
Without exaggeration the best value food short of the supermarket.
$6 vege curry plate will fill you up with a great tasting meal.
Not the best Indian I've ever had, but close enough and the price speaks for itself.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
Great place to come for a satisfying Indian meal. Its not authentic but it still tastes great. Its somewhat value for money. A lot of taxi drivers and backpackers do dine here and it does create that special atmosphere. They also have Indian music clips playing on TV which I enjoy watching while eating. I do hope they increase their serving sizes a little to accommodate the $2 increase in all meals. The butter chicken is amazing, perhaps the best in Brisbane. The garlic naan is also delightful. Don't be deterred by the lady serving the meals. It's true she has no personality and she won't smile at you. But the food definitely makes up for it.
This is the best Indian food I have ever had. Travelled 40mins with a bunch of mates just so we could have some. So worth it. Great value for the portions and amazing taste with all the curries. The lady working was absolutely lovely. Definitely recommended.
I love this place! Service is the best and they're always playing lovely Indian music. Huge portions for amazing value... I don't understand the comments saying it's expensive - this is the cheapest Indian place I've been to in Brisbane. Would definitely recommend this over any other fancy restaurant - you just get much more of an authentic taste and dining experience.
Delicious Indian food! The place has a takeaway service, so the food is ready to serve (they also have tables in case you want to eat at the restaurant)
The service is fast, the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly, they have excellent customer service, always very concerned
They also have vegan options
In my case I asked for the takeaway option and they were very generous in serving the food.
Highly recommended!
If you’re looking for Indian comfort, look no further. 5* for the easy dine in or takeaway menu. Pricing is one of the reasons this place is always so busy, options are plentiful for meat lovers or vegetarians. Fresh Naan’s made to order & if you like to keep things interesting - try some of their pickles and relishes (behind the counter, lime pickle, mango chutney etc) OR a chilled lassi (mango, rose water and other flavour available) the family warmth here & acceptance makes it the perfect stop for anyone in Brisbane looking for a good feed!
Ordered a range of things, think that the curry here is quite good and cheap. Really worth it. The naan wasn’t too great though, a bit too floury and tough for me - thus if you are going here, do get the curry and rice deals because they are not only good but worth it as well!
Great place to dine nice food and great service. every time we in Brisbane we go to eat there. recommended
Best value curry in Brisbane - great prices and big servings, plus very tasty, very fast (for curry alone, naan is cooked fresh so has a little wait) and open late. I would definitely recommend checking it out. We don't live in the city but this is our regular go-to and we will detour here on our way home after work or sports just to get this curry.
These guys have genuinely ruined my partner and I being able to get curry from anywhere else! There butter chicken and there garlic naans are the best value for money and they are delicious. The owners remember customers which is sweet
Probably the best Indian food in the West! Indian cuisine is second to my favourite food. I love their veggie korma and lamb korma, you got to have their cheese garlic naan! Priyanka is really helpful and remembers us whenever we visit and eat, love her service. Food is amazeballs.
