Just a wonderful local eatery. This is my 4th visit, and i still haven’t moved on from the crumbled fried cod and calamari rings...they are not greasy, really crunchy, good sized portions, and the flavour of accompanying tartare sauce is just delicious! Hats off to the kitchen staff. 👍🏻
And the counter staff are just wonderful, always friendly and polite. I have no idea how Sam could possibly remember what I ordered during my first visit (and that was a few months ago 😱). That was exceptional attention to details, she just turned me into a regular customer this afternoon! I will be back many times and try the rest of the menu. 😋😋😋

Got takeaway fish and chips here. Fish was great - incl crunchy crumb. However there was no lemon.
Last visit I was told my order would be about 10 minutes, but took almost 30 minutes. They weren't all that busy.

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. The battered cod was beautifully crunchy and very filling. Chips were as good as you can ask for with great portion size. Our host was very accommodating and even made suggestions to help keep things at great prices. Definitely making this a regular.

Went with my friend L to have a quick lunch. Calamari rings were nice and tender. Garlic prawns were very tasty. But the winner was the two dozen pacific oysters we had. Surprisingly amazing quality, size and flavor! Will be back for sure.

Really delicious dinner tonight, lovely light crumbed cod, fresh Greek salad. My son had battered cod, the best crispy batter I’ve experienced. Well done guys. Service was excellent.

Everytime I order food from Fish Lovers I am always overly impressed with their welcoming and genuine customer service. Whether it's the owner or a member of her team everyone is an absolute gem! To top it off their food is delicious 👍
I wouldn't call myself a regular customer but each time I do purchase dinner here there is such a warmth and sense of community.

Very attentive service at this busy fish shop in the Rosalie Village. We ordered the cod with chips. Chips were a huge serve crunchy & almost grease free. Cod was small but had a light crunchy batter & was moist & delicious

First time to this place. I dare to say this is the best fish and chips in Brisbane- we ordered the fish burger and fishermen’s basket (with beer battered chips) and both were to die for. Will definitely go back

Horrendous food. Horrendous customer service. Chips taste like old leather and the gravy is just salted jelly. Burgers are incredibly average.<br/>Paid extra for beer battered chips only to receive normal chips. They said we lied and we in fact had beer battered. Disgusting.<br/>If you like to pay exorbitant prices for trash food this is the place for you.

I had a posh lunch here, a little treat for myself. Staffs are very nice, I’ve got enough time to make my decisions lol! I’ve ordered 1/2 dozen of fresh open oysters & it’s absolutely tasted so much better then the oysters I bought which set in the fridge in the seafood market. I can still tasted the juice from the ocean n it’s really nice! There is a wine store next to restaurant that’s so convenient you could just grab a bottle from there. The prawn were ok except few of them are a little icy. I’ve picked Hancock & Hancock FIANO which goes really well with the oysters except not for the prawns but surprisingly goods well with the sauce. Well I’m not a “sauce” person, wonder what kind of wine can match with both.

Some of The Best Fish and Chips in Brisbane. Since the change of hands around 12 months ago there have been some MAJOR changes, the introduction of proper crockery over the previous metal eatery dishes, I think, is a nice touch. I will be back.

A great fish shoppe with a great outdoor seating area. Grab a nice bottle next door and a meal. Snapper, Barra, etc you know the drill. Perfect on a balmy night.

Cino the loyal scapecat wanted fish & chips. Good boy. His faithful minions duly fetched some takeaway.<br/><br/>A main size serve of five scallops included our choice of salad, chips, sauce & lemon. The old school thick batter didn’t transport well but the fat, juicy scallops inside were still good. Cino demolished the roe from mine. Hot chips were a lucky dip between both soggy & crispy. Enjoyed the damn fine lemon pepper calamari - thinly coated & very tender. Meanwhile thai fish cakes were more like flat fritters. They had solid chilli flavour but the crumbly texture was so-so. A mixed bag overall. <br/><br/>Appreciate the inclusion of decent sized sauces - roasted garlic aioli, tartare & nuoc cham. Also props for cheery service & cute faux newspaper lined boxes.<br/><br/>End result was a sated feline. And by ‘feline’ I mean my belly. And Husbandio’s.

Have been coming here for a long time, it's(or was) our family meet up place. Went there last night and the meals were uneatable. Cold chips, batter that doesn't stick to the fish and tiny serves. So disappointed! Last time we went was great!Have to find a new place :(

We went to Fish Lovers for lunch last Friday and found the food very nice. I ordered the beer battered soft shell crab w chips and tartare, the batter was super crispy and the crab soft and tender. The chips were also awesome. Will definitely be back.

Worst fish ever. Have lived in Paddington / Rosalie area on and off for last 10 years. Always went to Rainworth seafoods normally but due to Xmas break thought we'd try Fish Lovers. Ordered 2 x grilled fish, calamari and medium chips. Got home and a) calamari was missing and b) fish was unfortunately the driest most awful piece of crap ever encountered. Maybe the trick is to eat there but we certainly won't get take away from there again.

NEVER DISAPPOINTED. One of our favourite casual eateries. We always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and find the staff very friendly.<br/>The quality of the fish never disappoints, and the Calamari is always cooked to perfection.<br/>This will keep us coming back each week.

Best Calamari Ever!!. I don't know what they do, but it is tender and melts in your mouth. The serving sizes are HUGE - more than i can actually eat in one sitting. Staff always seem to be happy. Don't mind waiting when everything is cooked to order. I am back there every time I get into town!

Don't know what happened.... Staff were unfriendly, wait time was much longer than we were told on the phone. Fish portions were of modest size, all were overcooked (some to the point of being inedible). One piece tasted off, was so bad it couldn't be eaten by anyone (even when smothered in lemon and sauce), and eventually had to be thrown out. Salad was wilted and tiny for the price paid. Chips were fine, no complains there. I'm not under any delusions as to what a simple fish & chips meal is all about, but messing everything up so completely is inexcusable when you're charging such a high price.<br/><br/>I last went here a few years ago and had a great meal then, so I was pretty surprised by how bad everything was this time around. I'm not sure if this is due to a change in management or just a drop in standards, all I know is I certainly won't be back.

Placed an order for 1 piece of crumbed barra and 2 pineapple fritters at 705 Friday, walked out with order at 740. Counted 8 staff, no one apologised for the terrible wait, no one offered refreshments in fact no acknowledgements were made by staff at all. Not the first time we have had excessive wait times and average food. Will not be returning ever again

The worst service ever!! I'v.... The worst service ever!! I went there around 2:45pm on a weekday, which is a quiet time. I've ordered seafood basket for take away from an unfriendly staff member who skipped me to take the order of other two ladies, although I was there before them and I was ready to order. After taking my order, he didn't give me the receipt or a number only the eftpos receipt. After that I went to buy some thing from next door, went back after 5 minutes and asked the same guy behind the register if my food was ready, he said not yet.. so I was waiting there for another 20 minutes I asked again another staff member if my food was ready, then she asked me if I have a number, I told her that I didn't get one, then she went to check in the kitchen, meanwhile there was a bag setting on the bench for the whole time. The guy who took the order took the bag and asked the kitchen staff: "what is this?" The replied: "don't know". So he opened the bag, checked inside, closed it and gave it to me.. finally I got my cold fish and chips!! Plus I used by the little tub of aioli sauce for $2.80 just couple of months ago then $3.60 and now $4.00 which is ridiculous, not even a fine dining restaurant would even dare to charge that much for it.

Bad Service. Recently went with the family to have Sunday fish and chips. In contrast to the rest of the family I ordered an egg burger. My egg burger order was somehow missed first time round and then after waiting another 15 minutes, missed again! I ended giving up and got my money back.

Just ordered take away from this place and found when we got our order home that they had forgotten to include part of our order. This is the third time that this has happened at this cafe. We will not be returning!!!!

Couldn't stop eating!. This is a great fish 'n chipper but the best part is definitely the fried octopus! We ended up ordering seconds! <br/>Love the location and the fact it is BYO as well. A nice place for a casual dinner! <br/>Greek salad could have been better though... soggy and full of lettuce and onions and NO feta!

Seafood basket. How lucky is Rosalie to have this place nestled in the extra-ordinary foodie cross roads that is Baroona Rd and Nash St ? Lovin the generous, fresh and scrummy seafood basket, lovin the serve yourself water from the fridge and glasses from the tray at the front counter and especially lovin the muscle-y serving dude who will bring your fish n chips to your table. Pleasantly surprised and lovely service!. I'll preface this review by stating that I'm really picky about fish places. My last favourite fish and chip shop - Sea Grass at West End - closed down a few years ago and I've desperately been seeking a replacement. A few weeks ago we visited Fish Lovers and ordered some entrees and a fish dinner each. I was a bit sceptical as previous attempts to find a place that can offer tasty food with lots of flavour and without the grease have proved unsuccessful...<br/><br/>The prawn cutlets were yummy and the batter was really crunchy, and the calamari was lovely and tender and not overcooked. For the main, the fish was really nicely cooked and again really fresh, and the accompanying salads were delicious! The staff were attentive and really friendly and we really enjoyed our meal.<br/><br/>Even though it's a bit of a drive we'll be returning as I've found my new favourite fish and chips shop!

The wait is over. There's a rule in our house: if you can't see the sea, don't eat the seafood. Unfortunately, for our favorite fish and chip shop, the January Floods in Brisbane caused the river to be far too "up close and personal". <br/><br/>We've waited patiently for the return of our all time favourite fish n chip shop and we were so glad that the flood waters have recessed and the refit is complete.<br/><br/>Sitting down to eat was really like putting on your favorite shoes after a long absence: Immediately comfortable with your choice. <br/><br/>The food is the exceedingly high standard one has grown to love over the many years we've been coming here, the oil is crisp and light, chips and fish cooked to perfection. <br/><br/>What can you say? Heaven in a fisherman's basket!

Fresh and tasty. These guys have a great recipe for success. Casual outdoor dining with great food is perfect for lunch or dinner. Sometimes it's hard to get a seat so book early.

Fishlovers. This small fish cafe is the best of its kind in Brisbane. Very busy on a Friday night - there is a definite need to book a table most weeks. Food is great and reasonable. We have been supporters for many years. try it but book a table.

The fish was good! It was crumbed to perfection and the fish was still quite moist and not too dry. I was thankful that I ordered the aioli sauce - the amount of garlic was just right! The serving for the chips was huge, I could not finish them. But, I still prefer the chips from 'Salt and Battery, St Lucia'. Salt and Battery has the best chips ever!
