Review Tocco Italiano - Brisbane

Sebastian Lopez M
One of the few places in Brisbane offering traditional pizzas for under $30. Food quality is great. The staff is friendly but the service needs to be improved. I found the $1 water charge very interesting, as I have not seen this before.

Great coffee! Breakfast is fantastic, to be honest we always get the big platter. Which comes with a load of food. Great value meal for two. Staff is very friendly, and the car park really helps, specially when you have children. Their cookies are great too!

Basic breakfast fare. Enjoyed the avocado which came sliced on turkish. Very pooch friendly. Coffee was ok & well presented

Looking for breakfast so glad we stopped here. Everything was perfect. Meals were fresh and delivered in a reasonable time frame Portions sizes just right for the average eater and priced accordingly. Staff were friendly while remaining professional Definitely be back

Lovely atmosphere and food. Easy local street parking. Food is delicious, quick and attentive staff. Stuffed olives are a stand-up as are the pizzas. Always a popular choice so best to book at busy times.

Oh my God this place is amazing The calzone was the most delicious thing I've ever had. The drink our attentive young male waiter recommended was also delicious. Couldn't be happier with the food or the service from the staff. We'll be back

The food, atmosphere and service was amazing. Our server, Luca was fun and polite and made us want to come back. The pizza and pasta was world class and the wine selection was broad. Tiramasu was to DIE for

Amazing pizza at a good price locally. Very friendly staff as well and children's pizzas!

We visit for lunch and decide to dine indoors away from the wind. Phuong Tran enjoys her Banana & Raspberry Smoothie as I peruse the Menu. Experienced staff take our orders and before long our meals arrive.

* Smoked Salmon Salad ($18) comes with a generous serving of Smoked Salmon. The Salad comprises mixed salad leaves, orange segments and roasted beetroot. PT enjoys this meal.

* Panino Polpetta ($16) are small Italian Meatballs in a Tomato based sauce with melted Cheese in a Ciabatta Roll served with a Mesclun Salad. I found this meal underwhelming.

Will return to try the Pasta. Thank you guys!

I had a mushroom pizza and it was slightly oily...not the best tasting - also slightly overpriced. The toilets were also a bit dysfunctional and the taps weren’t working either...however the ambience in the restaurant was quite nice.

Can understand why it has mixed reviews but if you know the menu and what to order its fantastic! I love it and make it a weekly dinner! ALWAYS get the CALZONE SUD. Fresh ricotta and salami filled calzone is honestly the stuff of dreams! Make a booking always cause its a neighbourhood gem. Always get the burrata starter if they have it on. The menu changes fairly often so they switch things up based on seasonality. At the moment its a burrata and eggplant starter, its simple, fresh and elegant.Baked tomato ricotta gnocchi (Gnocchi Sorrentina I think?) is SO good. Comes to the table the tomato sugo still bubbling from the pizza oven. Cheese on top and little baby pillowy gnocchi are to die for. Give me that and a glass of Chianti (very reasonably priced by the glass: $8) and I'm a very happy lady. You MUST get the Calzone sud. As previously mentioned, this is heaven. Try it, if you're disappointed just tell me I'm crazy but I honestly need this in my life once a week. A little on the pricey side, but I encourage you to share stuff. Everything is high quality and a lot of care is taken to be authentic.

I always wanted to try this cafe when we drove past.It looks very nice. Today we decided to drop by for a coffee. The coffee was ok but not my favorite. It was a bit runny and tasted like milk rather than coffee. Perhaps too much milk or too little coffee. The place is nice but a bit noisy because of the traffic. I should try food there to have a better review.

Have been to this place a few times now being local and I'm shocked by the low score it has on here. This place has some of the best Italian I've ever had. The pizza is delicious and exactly what you get served in Italy and the gnocchi is the best I've had. They are friendly and recently helped us with a few restaurants in Italy. Will be going back.

Wonderful Italian pizzas! The best pizzas we have had in Brisbane. Cooked in a pizza oven that you can watch cook. Great Pinot Grigio wine, prices reasonable. If you haven't been here, we highly recommend it, lovely staff, great service. We will definitely be back, again & again.

Delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection. The pizza was flavourful and all the ingredients fresh. The desserts were amazing! The service was great and the owner was very welcoming. Will definitely be back.

I can't believe this place has such a low score on this site. It is amazing!!!!! The calamari is wonderful and the pizza's are the best I've had in Brisbane. Authentic Italian wood fired pizza. This is the real deal. The service can be a little slow, because they are always so busy (because the food is so good), definitely book a table before going, it is BYOB now so bring some wine and enjoy the wait. The owners often come around for a chat and are lovely. The food is worth it! I hope more people go and enjoy and give them the ratings they deserve.

Fantastic local wood fire pizza. If you are the type of person that debate whether pizza capers is better than dominos, then this isn't the place for you. Pizzas made by hand, not machines. Wood fired, cooked with, well... fire. Good little italian wine list thats reasonably priced too.

Not sure how long this place has been open but it's located on the old drift site on Graceville Ave.

Service: Felt like there were teething problems or they were short staffed the night we came in. Luckily we booked as it seemed most people had cos place was busy! Waiters were rushed and not making eye contact so we continued our conversation not wanting to rush them.

We waited ages to get a drink ordered and then brought out- I was driving so keen to get my wine early) all of us making eye contact with them at this point) so didn't even ask for the water every other table seemed to get or that the water glasses on our table alluded that we would indeed receive.

Food: had garlic bread to start, it had fresh rosemary and tasted salty without a hint of garlic whatsoever- the bread/base was delicious though

Pizza was bloody fantastic. I preferred my choice, the cotto funghi- great flavours and crust- was a bit worried it had no sugo on the base but it was way better than the capricciosa in my opinion, I needed a knife and fork for that one as it was a bit soggy.

For dessert we had the little lemon creme pastries, one had a caramelly top to it and we got the raspberry almond cake with ice cream which was my favourite by far.

All in all, I would come back here again- we did have great company that night, but next time I hope they have more than 2 people taking the orders on a full house night.
