What a fabulous venue! The owners kindly opened at 6am for us so we could eat breakfast before attending an event. The breakfast was delicious and well presented. Coffee was also lovely. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Have not been back to this lovely café for nearly three years. Loved to see its business as busy as before and loved to see the service and production were both consistent. I was there early this month and was greeted by a friendly young waitress who introduced me the daily morning brekkie package of coffee + Bacon & Egg sandwich. Took a seat and it did not take long time to have everything ready on the table. Honestly, the food & drink were not extra-ordinary good but average; however, the passion from the wait-staff greatly earned my appreciation. Thumb-up!

I am glad to see this restaurant growing from a small coffee place like "Tree House" across the road (it may be different owner) to a restaurant venue. I like its set-up and deco but not as much as I like its coffee. To be honest, I have not had Vittoria coffee for a long time. Each sip reminds me different episode of my past. The only let down was the Toasted Ham & Cheese Croissant, which could not be compared with the delicious Croissant that I had at "That's what she said" in Underwood.

Nice little cafe in busy Southbank. My banana muffin was really nice, hard to find a better muffin to be fair. Coffee really nice as well. Well priced. Menu is good, nothing outstanding. Service is good and friendly. Not as clean as should be and decor could do with an update. Could be altered for a more comfortable setting. Overall very nice.

This place has a sign on a chalkboard out the front that says "our coffee cannot be described with just chalk", or something like that (paraphrasing). I believe they were overselling it a bit. I think it is possible to write "pretty good" in chalk. The breakfast here was decent. Experienced was a pretty basic muesli. Staff and service of a high standard.

Consistently good coffee, service and food an easy choice for breakfast or lunch in South Bank. Indoor and outdoor seating available with umbrellas for coverage.

We were looking for a great eggs benny breakfast and came across this cafe in Southbank, next door to the cinemas.
It has nice decor and a menu that seems somewhat Italian in influence.
Prices were reasonable too.
We were greeted quickly and warmly and the great service continued from there.
We started with a pomegranate & raspberry frappe for me, lychee & green tea for him. Both were delicious and refreshing.
Our eggs benny were good, lovely soft poached eggs on spinach and bacon, served with plenty of sauce on ciabatta toast.
Our coffees were really good, I hadn't heard of the brand of coffee they use, Two Trees, but it was delicious. We appreciated the waitress ensured they came with our meals, just as we had asked for.

Right outside the cinema complex, among heaps of busy foot traffic . Particularly with the folk staying over at the hotels, if the choices there seem a bit pricey to them then this is one of the great alternatives. It has that drop in vibe and the locals seem to approve. That is good enough to go and investigate.

After going to see a film, my friend felt like a bit of a coffee. Last time I met up with him, there was one place that he quite liked with the atmosphere, the look and everything so the original plan was to go there for a coffee. However, it was closed and with a U-turn the next lot of places were to be sought out. It started and ended with this one. That is all.

With the service, it is small in the amount to critique. From that small amount, workings of some excellent customer service are apparent. It has the usual streamlined counter-service for cafes in modern times. Just go up, place the order, pay and find a table. The guy the two of us had was really good. His whole demeanour and body language showed that he worked hard, and the items were delivered quite fast. So, strangely enough for this I would give the service a gold star. If it makes you feel welcome, then it is good enough.

What also helps is with the interior design. The interior design is quite simple, a lot like a cafe, but it manages to feel organic in its appearance. Posters from all around Italy are on the walls, there are small tables for brief meetings, there are big tables for bigger groups, the window sill is used as a bar counter for some more chairs. Having some trees right outside to shade the diners also adds to the overall feel in the al fresco section.

Their menu is a generous one, and the cuisine would probably be Modern Australian with one section that is influenced heavily by Italian cooking. Beginning off, they have an all-day menu of items which are mostly visible in the cabinet. These items are basically pastries, sweet and savoury, along with some sandwiches and wraps like cheese toasties and meatball subs, and salads plus daily specials. The breakfast menu is nothing out of the ordinary: bacon and eggs with all variations, omelets, toasts (including French), big breakfasts, pancakes and the like.

At lunch time, the menu turns Italian. It still stays small though. A risotto, some pastas and a couple of burgers with fries. Some fish and chip like meals are also available. There are also a few kinds of pizza. More or less, a chosen selection of a modern Australian menu (though not everything expected is covered). During between times on some days, snack platters of classics are available, and dinner time has the menu get a tad fancier. Costs are fairly affordable, and the selection is wholesome. Only during the dinner rush does it need to be worried that items are over $20.

Then it comes to the drinks menu, which combined is just the same size as the food. Coffee is big here, and heaps of options are open. They also have freshly squeezed juices, teas (iced and loose leaf), sodas (including Italian), super food smoothies, fruit smoothies, frappes based off ice or milk, and milkshakes/thickshakes (which includes iced coffee et al). This is the non-alcoholic selection. The alcoholic selection has a selection of wines, beers from around the world, cocktails, spirits, and whiskeys.

As for me, what it was all here about was getting a coffee - and something on the side as always. The coffee that they use comes from Two Trees. Regarding Two Trees, it is a name that I know I have heard many times but don't think that I have tried coffee from them. However, the reception seems to be generally quite good. That I can agree on. The doppio in which I ordered was really good. It was hot, quite strong and had a note akin to some kind of honey melon. What also didn't hurt was a good crema on top.

To go on the side, I noted on the counter that there were Italian doughnuts but in different flavours. That sure tempted me into getting one, and chocolate chip was the first flavour I saw after "plain" so that is what I went with - it was based on pure impulse. Most of the time, when getting Italian doughnuts from a place, they are more or less served as they are - usually well beyond having been cooked, and might be a bit lacking with a dusting of some sort. Not here. This doughnut was hot and fresh from the oven, coated generously with cinnamon and sugar (just try to have not gotten any on your fingers picking it up), the dough was soft and chewy plus mixed in were quite a few chocolate chips, and chocolate just rocks. No further need to elaborate with that.

Grey Street Kitchen, even just from this small sample of the place, looks to be one that is not just complacent with being an audience-pleaser but aims to make sure that they ensure quality all throughout the meal. It helps that it has that Italian charm going through its blood, and felt more like a cafe from a previous point in time - only wanting to serve good food, be great with customer service, and be there for the locals.

Excellent coffee and service. It is rare to order a coffee and get a really good quality cappuccino (that isn't milky or lukewarm) in a proper cup, in good time with a smile from the waiter. Grey Steet Kitchen ticked all those boxes. I didn't have food today as I'd eaten elsewhere but I noted that it was very reasonably priced for the area and food taken to other patrons looked good. A nice little place that is completely unpretentious - good one for the locals.

I had a coffee here after having lunch in the local restaurant precinct. Service was friendly and prompt. I ordered a cappuccino which was smooth, and importantly it was hot.

Hands down the best french toast in Brisbane. Caramelised banana and bacon yumminess. My other half had the obligatory poached on toast and he loved it and they made the best coffee we had in Brisbane. Way better than any other breakfast spot.

Nice breakfast place they also serve lunch. Good coffee. Bit pricey. Sometimes have cheap specials. Was good to drop in after parkrun. They also were nice to let our dog sit with us but didn't bring a water bowl.

From my experience, the staff is friendly qnd the food is really good. The desserts, however, are wonderful and not over sweet. After going there a few times, i still think that it is worth returning to so i can try something else on the menu.

Nice street side location, great menu and one of few places open bank holiday. Service was freindly but slow, only one girl serving. Would have been 5 start of it wasn't for speed of service and the fact the orange was not fresh !!

After a walk around Southbank, we found Grey St Kitchen. Clean, good aspect, reasonable value for money and good food. Chef cares about his preparation as the bacon was cooked well and the rind was cut off.

Our experience was amazing! Though we only stopped to grab something small, Janaya, the staff member who attended to our table, made our experience utterly incredible. Their service was second to none and had us raving on about the place for two days straight! The coffee was beautifully brewed and the chia latte was perfection in a cup! Would definitely recommend trying their hash browns because we'd go as far as saying they're the best in Queensland.

Popped in for a quiet breakfast and was greeted by a very friendly young staff member. Service was quick and the food was great! A very good Iced Latte and Eggs Benny. Not too big but the perfect sizing. Staff in the cafe seemed happy to be there and busy at work. Would definitely return to try lunch options some time!
