I’ve been to Wordies a few times now. It’s a nice place in Uni. They always have at least one nice vegetarian option. I’ve been always happy with the service. No drama
The customer service has improved this year in comparison to other years!! Consistently good to great coffees! Food is usually quite well priced for the size of the meal. There is room for improvement though, but for good quality coffee on campus this is the place to go.
Delicious very generous sized meals at good prices. Usually you can just rock up for a meal, bookings not usually necessary. Open for breakky and lunch. Set in beautiful surroundings at St Lucia UQ campus. Inside dining available if it's hot or raining. They are happy to replace chips with salad on the tender saltnpepper calamari (for those who dont care for chips). Friendly efficient staff.
I was very apprehensive about dining here due to the poor reviews but have now been here twice for breakfast and can highly recommend the Bircher muesli to keep you going through a big morning of lectures
Wordies is located in a convenient spot in St Lucia, which is probably why it's so popular. The food is good although a bit pricy for students. I've dined here on a few occasions. Today I had the salmon rosti on special and a caramel milkshakes, delicious! Milkshakes here are excellent :)
Barista is terrifying but goddamn he is a wizard at what he does. Food is good and the atmosphere is excellent!
Getting better. I cam back to Wordsmiths recently and was impressed at the improvement from the last time I was here.
I had the grilled salmon with chips and salad and was pleasantly surprised. The salmon was perfectly cooked and on a cold day I appreciated having the chips as a treat.
The staff were friendly and helpful when I asked them for extra information. Well done Wordies, I will be coming back again now.

Wordies is good for a selected number of things - for example their hot chips with chicken salt and aioli, daily soup special and wedges. But from my experience that is all. Coffee and all other drinks are overpriced and not good. Other menu items are expensive and the price is more suitable for a restaurant setting rather than a Uni cafe. I'm going to say I like it just because of the chips, wedges and the really fresh and tasty soups that come with bread and butter.

Today I had some free time before a seminar at The University of Queensland and decided to get a coffee to kick start my afternoon, I quickly searched what options I have at UQ: Mr Beans Coffee Espresso, Mr Beans Coffee Cart, Lakeside Cafe Espresso Bar or Bar Merlo UQ . When I walked pass Wordsmiths I knew I definitely had to come here for a cuppa. Wordsmiths brought back lots of old memories when I was still a young student at UQ “ages ago” I used to have lunch and hang around at Wordsmiths between lectures. Wordsmiths offered some light meals on their menu as well as Campos coffee, I think their service today was good! Friendly smiley staff, tranquil environment, and the coffee arrived after a few minutes after I placed my order. And of course my Flat White was not bad at all!
