Fried rice is excellent, the sizzling steak is good. I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about any of the dishes I have eaten here. Customer service is excellent ( this evening they forgot to put in a dish with my takeaway order so we called them back and they went out of their way to deliver it to us) . A nice little place to dine.

The new vegan menu is amazing šŸ˜Š. Iā€™ve already been here a few times already and plan to bring my mum next time she comes to visit. So glad there is finally vegan Chinese food in Brisbane.

Tried a few dishes from the vegan menu and it was the best dinner Iā€™ve had in a long time. Cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be going back

Really great new vegan menu, loved the honey ā€œchicknā€
And really keen to try the lemon version.
Just what we were after. Itā€™s so great to have a Chinese place to eat now.

Reasonably priced and delicious. Standard Chinese and Viet cuisine. Large number of options. Decor a bit dated but three price is also very reasonable. Take away is popular but eat in is a nice quiet experience.a few groups there on a Sunday night.

Best Chinese food in Brisbane.Ā  Dine in or takeaway it is delicious.Ā  Our favourite restaurant for celebrating birthdays.Ā  They do not cram people in (as experienced in the Valley on the weekend) andĀ staff are friendly.

There ain't much that's new about the New Chinese Garden Seafood Restaurant. I've been coming here on and off since the 90's and the menu, table layout and quality has remained pretty much frozen in time.

Dining in the spacious enough restaurant has never been an issue - even on Christmas day for dinner - as I've never seen the place over half full. On top of that, most of the clientele are middle aged to elderly Aussies. Not a great sign for a Chinese restaurant. But don't let that fool you. Yes, the food is very mid ranged, mid priced, mid portioned, but it's consistent and that counts for a lot with me & my lovely but finicky fiance.

The proprietor, Lee, juggles waiting on customers and working the wok in the kitchen as the place is usually dead. The "Wait staff and kitchen hand wanted." sign seems to be perpetually propped up on the counter as you walk in, but with that being said, Lee handles the customers with an understated smile and is a rather shy gentleman, but totally accessible for any questions you may have regarding the menu.

More importantly, in the kitchen he turns out some pretty tasty dishes. Nothing life changing, or likely to make your top 3 list if you're a connoisseur of Asian cuisine but the basics, done damn well. The satay chicken skewers are stand outs (there's even a mixed satay skewer entree with beef, chicken and prawn skewers for the indecisive) but everything else is merely just good, and that's good enough for what you'll pay.

Aside from obviously catering to the well known Aussie-Asian staples like Sweet & Sour Pork and a variety of fried rices (Hong Kong style and with crab meat sauce) there are a few less common gems to unearth like the delightful West Lake Beef Soup (a simple flavorful broth with minced beef and coriander).

If anything lets the restaurant down from a culinary stand point, it's the sizzling/braised dishes. Don't get me wrong, they're most certainly edible and the meat is tender. But that's about as far as the praise goes. The main problem lies in the sauce. For my daring, explosion of flavor loving palette, I found the Chinese style and Mongolian sauces to be lacking some serious personality. Very bland and the most exciting part is hearing the sizzle as the meal makes the way to the table. But the dish it's self...meh. Go for the char kway teow (a delicious ho-fun noodle dish with that addictive fiery wok flavor) to remind yourself what Lee is capable of.

For the experienced lover of Chinese food, nothing at New Chinese Garden Seafood Restaurant will bump off your tried and true favorites from the higher end establishments, but if you feel like a relaxing meal (dine in or take away, the quality remains good) without the elbow wrestling with your fellow diners that some of the busier places at Sunnybank can result in, visiting Lee and co. - well, usually just Lee - will fill your tummy and not break the bank.

Amazing Takeaway. This is one of my favourite places to get takeaway food that isn't swimming in trans fats *cough* Maccas...I love how the dishes are fresh and lovely even at takeaway quality. Plenty of vegetables, delicious meats, amazing sauces. A local favourite

Nice little local... If you want the best Chinese in Queensland, than I think you can do better, but if you want consistently nice Chinese, at a good price, than this is the place for you. Sizzling steak is yummy and their Lemon (& Honey!) chicken is pretty good too. This is our happy little local for takeaway and always comes through for us when we're not feeling much like cooking. Don't know what it's like in the restaurant, but the takeaway is always a solid performer. 7 out of 10!

Great to have our local Chinese shop reopened with new owners and chef. We loved it before and we are impressed with food quality on our recent Saturday night visit, it was very busy. The live tanks have returned which is cool. Small mistake with our order but the friendly staff resolved it promptly and we will definitely be back.

Best choice outside downtown Chinatown or suburbs Sunnybank area. Three things to note... 1. authentic Chinese cuisine... 2. food came out fresh and hot.. 3. value for money either in quantity or quality. The service might be a bit delayed but it's understandable as only one or two servers. Seems to be a family run business which is why we chose to support them twice in a row for dinner. We stayed and visited many Asian restaurants during our 14 day stay in Brisbane. Thus said, this was one of our favorites!

A place you want to keep a secret! I took my mother in law here for mothers day and was pleasantly surprised of how good the food was! We ordered entrees, seafood and poultry for mains and it reminded me of the delicious dinners served at weddings. 5/5 stars, I will be going back. If you go, bring friends or family as most dishes are sharing serving sizes.

That Old school Chinese setting from your childhood with fresh, vibrant dishes you know and love. If itā€™s not busy donā€™t let that fool you. They get lots of take out. Their vegan menu was surprisingly delicious. Not an afterthought like most other places, the dishes we tried were perfect representations of Chinese classics. What struck me the most was the fresh ingredients - bright and colourful. Good place for your meat free night or with vegetarian vegan mates. Pretty sure the regular menu would be great given they nailed the vego dishes which would easily win over the omnivores in your group. Definitely keen to make this our regular Chinese place.
