The coffee here is always delicious and it is hard to say no to the treats sitting in the glass containers on the counter. The pistachio cookie I had yesterday was small enough to make me feel like I hadn’t overindulged and just enough to accompany my cappuccino. The only problem here is parking. Go on foot if you can or go during the off peak times.
It is always a guarantee when you go to a coffee place with the own roaster at the back of the café. This one is a typical example, particularly it is Merlo. Went there this morning and it was full of take-away customers. I found the indoor dining area was empty so I placed my order and took a seat inside, then relaxed and waited for my flat white. Surprisingly, my banana bread came first (may be it was too busy to serve the take-away orders). Looked at the bread and appreciated the generous portion and carefully toasted and spread with butter. Actually, the texture was good but I would prefer to have separate jug of butter so I could spread the butter by myself. The reason is due to the fact that butter will be absorbed into the bread when it was spread too early prior to be served. That may weaken the taste of butter. Well, it should be the time to talk about the coffee. I have no problem so far to have coffee at the Merlo specialty shop and this time was the same. Barista's pouring technique is sophisticated, the coffee is strong with deep layer. It is absolutely worth for the trip.
One of the best places for coffee in town. Awesome cold drip and I love their deserts. Visiting it at least few times a month. Perfect place for business coffee meetings.
