Really great Indian food! I highly recommend the masala dosa and idli’s for lunch on weekends. So tasty and probably the best place in Brisbane for southern Indian food.
This place was recommended to me by a lady from work and we loved it! So close to home too. The service was really friendly and food was delicious. I’m probably not the most authentic judge of Indian cuisine because I always order butter chicken and naan bread and that’s how I judge... but Shanti’s version of both these items was tops.
Small restaurant that serves Sri Lankan Tamil style food as well as the usual 'Indian' dishes like butter chicken etc. The Sri Lankan Tamil style dishes are worth your time, the other food not so much.
Yum Yum. Basic small restaurant, seating for about 25 people.
Often full on Friday & Saturday nights, also Saturday and Sunday lunch times.
They have pre prepared hot box items like samosas, cutlets etc. I'm not really a hot box person but have had a few items and found them to be well spiced and priced. I prefer my food to be high temperature so the luke warm hot box does not apeal.
We go for the dosa for Saturday brunch ! I love dosa and this is as good as any in Brisbane.
I've had quite a few curry dishes here and find them all tasty and have fresh ingredients.
My favorite is the goat curry (Med Heat) which has never failed to impress (8 times), Naan is good both plain and spinach with cheese.
Prices are reasonable.
Service is reasonable, without being overly friendly.
I have had a different meal everytime I've been here and I have never been disappointed. Great food, always tasty and good, quick service. Well priced and good portions
Shanti, Darra. My son and I LOVE the weekend menu at Shanti. It's homestyle spicy comfort food at its best. We're not vegetarian but we always order the vego options like the fabulous thali which comes with a huge assortment of curries, rice, breads and dessert. It's extremely filling, healthy and great value for money. We adore the masala dosa, a crispy yard long 'pancake' stuffed with spicy potatoes and served with fragrant home made chutneys. The puris make a cheap and satisfying brekky or light lunch. Only $7! This is authentic food cooked with love by a friendly matriarch. The food sometimes takes a while to get to the table but it's well worth the wait!
Loved this place! The only restaurant I've found in Brisbane that makes dosas too.wasn't the cheapest Indian meal but certainly the best quality. Ordered a variety of dishes & raved about them all. Nothing to fault here
The best indian restaurant in town. Enough said. No compliants

Best South Indian Variety.. The restaurant ambience is quite okay. It is not a big dining area. You have a range of starters over at the reception in a hot box.
The Menu was extensive and there are heaps of dishes and breads to choose from whether you are an Indian cuisine lover or just a casual walk-in customer.
Since I am from south india, this restaurant provided me a quality of my authentic Indian food I always had at my hometown. Food was overall good. Service was excellent. And the orders were very quick that we got our order on table like in less than 7 minutes.
Like this place and will definitely get back here if I ever get a chance to go.
