Review Hong Kong Palace - Brisbane

Robert Fry
Food was reasonably priced. We ordered 2 soups, my son said his combination short soup was a winner. Special fried rice was good. Sweet and sour pork, the batter nice and crunchy, as was the pork in plum sauce, and nice chunky veg in them both, but while my son enjoyed them, I found both sauces a tad bland. The service was good, and next time we will take drinks as it is BYO. Yes, I will go back.

Just like the local Chinese place you remember from when you were a kid. Fresh and tasty. Crispy veggies. Delicious fluffy rice. Perfect. Thanks HK Palace.

Best restaurant in the area. The fried rice is a meal all on its own. I’ve been eating at the Hong Kong Palace since my 16th birthday - 38 years ago and it’s still our go-to takeaway every month despite moving elsewhere, then returning with a husband & child. It’s inexpensive, the beef & seafood dishes are excellent, tender & flavoursome. They serve a large variety of lamb & chicken meals. The soups and all the entrees are very filling with decent portions. Guests from overseas are stunned at the great quality, personal service & speed of service.

Great Food at Great Prices in a Great Location. Highly recommend! 5 Stars

Wasn't a huge fan. This is the place for that classic 1980s Chinese we got stuck into as kids. Just the regular meat dishes with bottled sauce and tiny supermarket spring rolls kind of place. It's not bad, just not anything special.

Very disappointing, small amount on meat in the dish and over priced I'll never return

Last night I went to buy some take a way because I saw few reviews in Facebook.. so I gave it a try. I really liked, I didn’t expect that from that restaurant because I look old but the food was very nice. Also they gave me a bag of some kind of fried triangles that I didn’t order... 👏🏻

Fantastic Chinese takeaway that's been around for ages, the couple that run it are really friendly. The food is always good and really cheap. I love the sweet and sour pork. It's mainly a takeaway and nobody is ever sitting inside so there is always seating available when i go in.

We live locally and was just in the App looking at the menu for options in addition to the fantastic Special Fried rice we get often. So wanted to Review them which I should have done ages ago. <br/>Lovely people, mum dad and 2 grown up sons. They’ve been there since boys were born. Great old fashioned Chinese.

Even though I'm sure the food is great, you can't pay by card for delivery, either over the phone or upon delivery. In this day and age, it's just expected. I placed an order, only to cancel when I asked to pay by card. That's a $50 order that they now won't get because of such a small issue.

Although this is not our closest Chinese take away we find ourselves returning because the food is so good. Yes it is old school chinese takeaway away from your childhood but when done well it is delicious and Hong Kong Palace have been around for over 30 years for a reason! Combination omelette, sweet and sour pork and special fried rice are all winners.

Celebrity chef Outback Matty. I'm a local so I thought I would try and explore a little more and I had the urge for some Chinese! Mind you I don't have a lot of time to eat out as I’m either on the move or need to get back into the office, hence tonight office work and no time to cook. I am less than 1km up the road from HK Palace and decided to order some take away. I just got some special fried rice - it was the best I have had in a long time! I also had Mongolian lamb my favourite - it was so rich in flavour! And a sweat and sour pork, they fried it and didn't put it in the sauce, you mix it your self - it was so crunchy and yummy! Amazing flavours, very convenient for me also. Good job guys, Big Love Outback Matty x

Always delicious. I've been coming to Hong kong palace for years now and it is still the best chinese food in town. The staff are very friendly and the food is always fresh and tasty, and great value. Takeaway is just as good. Reccommend!

Got take away after reading good reviews on here. The lemon chicken was the nasty dry old pieces of chicken gristle they probably should have thrown out days ago, the sauce wasn't nice. Chow mein was average. Vegetables were ok. Would not go back!

Yum yum!!. We decided we'd try hong kong palace take away tonight because of the great reviews it had gotten. We were very delighted with the price, quantity and quality of food. Thoroughly enjoyed all dishes we ordered, the hot and sour soup, chicken chow mein, the free curry puffs. the sweet and sour pork however was the stand out!!! Shall be back in the future and would definetly recommend!

One of the best Chinese takeouts I've been to! We love Chinese food and have tried many around this area since moving here, I'm so glad we came across this place thanks to urban spoon!

Must try this place!. I have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect from this place but it is hands down some of the best Asian food I've ever had! Their chicken chow mein is to die for!
Brydie
Well priced and tasty. I did not expect much as the place looks a bit dodge from the outside but positive reviews convinced me to go try it. I got the garlic prawns and the vegetarian fried rice, the garlic prawns were just that- prawns in a garlic sauce, it was nice however I disappointed that there were no vegetables with them. The vego fried rice was lovely, chunky carrot, baby corn with egg which exceeded my expectations
BurtoN

Solid tasting Chinese takeaway with friendly staff.

The food is very good and tasty. The service however is not the best. Recommended is: Mongolian beef with rice. They have great lunch specials.

If you are after classic old school Chinese food, I defy you to find me a better takeaway in inner Brissie. Find me a decent Thai while you're at it.
Leisa
The food was great and excellent value. My family of 6 were fed for just under $50! Unheard of at other local Chinese restaurants. The menu's on my fridge.
