Tried hummingbird bar & restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. I had the moreton bay bugs for an entree and it was amazing easily the best bugs i have had in quite some time.
The mushroom tortellini with the cauliflower, white turnip and fennel was absolutely amazing and is a dish that i will definitely come back for. The apple crumble just topped off the experience and combined with the excellent service and friendly staff made for a great night out. I will definitely be back and be telling all my friends and family to go to the hummingbird bar & restaurant, i can easily see this as becoming a regular dining spot.
Been here on multiple occasions, and each time myself and my partner were greeted with fantastic food, ambiance and service. Definitely the highlight of the Rosalie, highly recommend.

The food was excellent especially the Fish and Chips cooked country style with gourmet fresh potato and fresh fish. The Oysters were also fresh served on a bed of rock salt.
The overall fit out and atmosphere of the restaurant bar was warm and welcoming and a pleasant place to visit for lunch.
Hummingbird is amazing. I loved the ambiance and service but the food is to die for!! Could not fault my visit at hummingbird compared to other venues nearby. This is exceptional value for a high quality dining service.

All-in-all, slightly up-market and a good addition to the range of eateries available in Rosalie. We will be happy to go back in a week or two.
Some positives:
Pat ordered the lamb and was really happy with it, cooked pink and, with its accompaniments, very good.
As a side we had Brussels sprouts and she loved 'em, even though she doesn't usually like them at all.
For desert she had the black treacle parfait. If she could have licked the dish she would have! Let's say it was a hit!
The negatives:
To start we asked for dry Martinis. They were disappointing: too much vermouth and water.
I had the spatchcock, grilled breast and confit leg, a hard act to pull off, and they didn't. The breast was a bit over-cooked and the leg well under-cooked. I think that's probably due to some timing issues that they will quickly overcome.
Ambiance is good, but we hope they do away with the doof-doof music.
Staff are enthusiastic, helpful and eager to get feedback, which we gave them. They aren't intrusive or pushy.
The wine list is good, not "the usual suspects" and reasonably priced. .
Just what Brisbane needed, its fresh, well thought out and has an amazing ambience. The Spatchcock was absolutely delicious! New Chef Sam Roberts (formerly of Cha Cha Char) has made an amazing menu... we will definitely be back!
The service was amazing, waitstaff were prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. The offerings were seasonal and celebrated the fresh produce and I ended up getting a second coffee because the first was just bliss. I'll be returning to try the dinner menu. Very impressed!
The Hummingbird Bar and Restaurant, new to Rosalie Village will not disappoint. I have eaten here several times since it opened in July 2017. The taste, texture and presentation of the food is just exquisite. I was especially impressed with the overall presentation of each dish. The service was phenomenal and the meals were served very quickly. Exceptionally professional and friendly staff with an excellent atmosphere. Great location, modern classy and comfortable. Very reasonably priced considering meal sizes. I really can’t fault this restaurant! What an asset to Rosalie!
Unbelievably delicious food, and great service. If your looking for a great experience and meal in Rosalie Hummingbird is by far the best place in Rosalie to eat. We were here on Friday night, staff are very welcoming greeting instantly and seated fast considering how busy they were. Nice touch with complimentary bread to start the night. Would highly recommend and we will be back next time we come see a movie at the blue room cinema. Thanks
Attended Thursday night KIDS EAT FREE, very trendy place for Rosalie food was amazing, excellent service, which we could not fault. The kids ordered the nuggets and chips and hubby and i ordered the lamb and the sword fish beautifully executed. Will certainly be back every Thursday and now to be our new Rosalie hot spot with us and the kids.
Hummingbird continues to improve, they made us a pretty good martini! The oysters were Coffin Bay, fresh and succulent. Duck breast entré just right. Mains by the new chef did not disappoint: lamb and steak cooked to perfection! Great service and attention and, once they turned the "music" down, good atmosphere.
Definately worth trying.
We went to try this restaurant out last night and it did not disappoint for entrée we had the ricotta and spinach cannelloni and the pork belly with pumpkin jam it was to die for, was very impressed. For mains we had charcoal lamb rump and sous vide chicken breast with charred sweet corn which was a very welcome addition as well as a side of ash roasted potatoes, the pecorino cheese just made this dish. I would go back daily just for the potatoes. We had the chocolate brownie bites with chocolate rosemary mousse for dessert and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Excellent menu and atmosphere, the staff could not do enough for you. We will definitely be back as we could not fault a thing. The Hummingbird bar and restaurant will without a doubt be a regular spot for us.
We enjoyed a lovely meal last Friday, staff tried really hard to make us feel welcome. Good wine list, the Chablis was particularly nice. Get down and support your local!
