The best Indian takeaway. Prepare for a 20-30 minute wait, even during quiet times, however I can guarantee its worth the wait - every time! Butter chicken is amazing and the naans are always fresh.
Food is so good I love it. I won't get Indian from any other restaurant this is the best by far. Butter chicken is amazing. Highly recommend
Had to wait about half an hour at peak time on Sunday night for takeaway after walking in so suggest calling ahead your order. But boy was it worth the wait! Best lamb korma I've ever had! The lamb was so soft I could've almost eaten it through a straw!
Consistently great food and really good prices
Not amazing for dining in
Food is made fast - never had a bad meal here
Usual orders:
Mango chicken
Lamb or chicken Korma
Garlic Naan
Fantastic food, reminded us of home!!! Couldn't even taste everything on the buffet as got so fixated on a few dishes..... Will have to come back again to taste the rest. Moved to Australia from the UK and this is the best Indian...
We went for the "all you can eat" lunch. The idlis were like authentic soft idlis , dosa was yummy , the gravies were ok . Overall the food was average. The service was worth mentioning , the owner Mr.Vijay was giving individual attention to the customers and serving sambhar in bowls , serving dosa and vada on the tables.
The sweet dish was unlimited as well. For this price this is worth a try. New price is 20 AUD.
Went to Spice In, SOOOO GOOODDD!! I got the butter chicken & rice with garlic & cheese naan, it was so delicious, cheap and I will be going back, there was soo much that I won't be eating tonight and all for under $15.00...
Service was great and food was to die for!! Fantastic experience
Read reviews so decided to try. Was pretty empty when we got to the restaurant no reservations were needed on a thursday night. We decided to do take away specials meat for four. Chose lamb vindaroo butter chicken and vegetable madras curries. Really enjoyed all that was included except didnt like the flavor of the lamb as it was a bit strong and on the salty side however this may be in accordance with the dish - unsure. Overall however enjoyed my meal and would like to come try $16 buffet on weekends one time
More than meets the eye. Spicein had been on my radar for a while - we popped by one night, but were put off by the fact that it is essentially a cafe style restaurant with little to invite you inside. How wrong were we to have passed up that first opportunity to dine there, because we would have been regular customers by now. Anyway finally on a Thursday while out and about, we decided to give the place a go - thank god!!!
Firstly let me say it's just a basic take-away/cafe type restaurant - so you won't be going there for the ambience, but by god the food is amazing. We decided to go with the thali lunch - three curries of your choice, bottle of drink, naan and desert - amazing value at $16. There was so much food I took half home with me for lunch the next day (couldn't fit in any dinner that night - which is highly unusual). There was a choice of about 4-5 meat curries, 2-3 veggie curries ... oh and raita came with it too. I went with lamb madras, butter chicken and dahl ... all were amazing, but the lamb was a standout - meltingly soft lamb pieces in the most perfectly spiced madras I've had outside of India. The naan was crispy - just how I like it - and the raita was a very generous serve (god I hate a tablespoon of raita - gets you nowhere). The butter chicken was also very authentic, as was the dahl. Each curry was spiced accordingly - so you don't ask for hot/medium etc - it comes as it comes - you want hot order vindaloo or madras; medium go with a tikka; mild stick with butter chicken or a korma.
I'm not usually a "hot box" type of curry eater - but I will be back here - especially as they do a curry buffet (including dosa - I love dosa and need to try these) on a weekend lunchtime, also for the princely sum of $16 from memory. For the reviewer below who complained about the service - perhaps you gave off a vibe of some type. We both found the lady owner (hubby usually cooks she tells us, but he was away this day, so it was her in the kitchen) lovely - a little shy but once you got chatting to her, she was very friendly and very imformative about the food. I completely agree that this is home-style cooking at it's best - don't be put off by the atmosphere, at the very least try some takeaway - but seriously go there, sit down, eat and enjoy. If you love indian food you will not be disappointed by this place and it is worth the drive out to Oxley I promise you.
The best Biryani in Brisbane!!!
Got the $12 special. 2 Currys and rice in a plastic container. Butter chicken was very nice, lamb Rogan Josh wasn't as good. Very friendly staff. Food could have been more hotter temperature wise. Naan bread was pretty tastie!
Buffet is the best! Priced perfectly. Only downside is that the drinks are a little pricy. Absolutely love this place. It's become a tradition to come here with my partner and friends. ;)
I don't know who got the worst service, but it definitely wasn't me. To be honest if I could afford it, i'd eat here every night. The people are really great and I love their food.
Good indian restaurant. The butter chicken was tasty. Naan bread was also good. Will try some new things next time!
Great food great service and very friendly..... Most important very competitive pricing.....
