Sushi too is one of the only good UberEats restaurants in my area. Only issue is the quality varies often but they are generally very good :)

TL;DR: Yet another solid, decent Japanese takeaway that satiates where it is needed.

Well, it is another sushi train here that more or less has got what would be expected. Not a lot to set the scene beyond that.

It was one of those times again: a PPV event on the WWE Network, and that meant the usual idea. Put it on, and then order up some delivery to eat in front of it - something that I always look forward to doing. This time it was some Extreme Rules action, and I found some time in the middle of the week straight after work to fit it in. With that set up, it was then onto the UberEats app and finding what looked good and quick to arrive at the door.

Going again through what was open and would deliver as soon as possible, it might have been a couple of factors but overall this place was new, it was something a bit different to the normal delivery, and I knew that my house mate likes himself a Japanese curry as a meal. This was also for his birthday as he accepted it as such.

As per normal with service, it is all on UberEats here and it was at the bar standard. Meaning by that, the tracking on the app gave piece of mind and it arrived more or less efficiently and before I knew it. The delivery person was polite and professional, and all that is needed from here is a quick drop-and-run. That, and they put a loyalty card into the order as well with a few stamps already accumulated from this one order. Got to give gold stars when you can.

Being a sushi train, the brunt of their menu is a range of sushi. The way they are sorted out is more by the meat than the style, with varieties for those who like chicken, one for the huge range of seafood - including much of the sahsimi range, with one entirely for prawns. Then we have aburi, and then spicy rolls, along with a decent vegetarian range. Other bits and bobs include sashimi and the hot plates rounding up the izakaya, with them - for good measure - adding in a few big meals, with a few donburis and udon noodle soups. A few other additions are then in there, including the basic sides, some ice creams, and several drinks including lots of iced tea, all rounding it off to your usual sushi train menu.

From the order that I placed in, as well as getting the chicken curry for my house mate, the meal I had was an ebi fry rice bowl. To spruce it up - and, as always, making it a more substantial review as such - a few other items were gotten. One of the items that keeps on popping up when I go Japanese is the takoyaki - and that is for a good reason, it tastes good almost each time - and that was the case here that I got them again (why fix what ain't broken?) plus I wasn't initially going to get any bits of sushi but when I saw one that sounded interesting, it was to good not to. That was inari sushi both filled with tuna and topped with some seaweed. When I saw that, it was a touch of the button to add it into the order.

The size of the meals here are reasonable and filling. With the ebi bowl I had there three well-cooked, massive tempura prawns mixed in with a solid amount of well-steamed rice. There was a good sauce over it, which was mixed in with a bit of egg, and the prawns were tasty, solid and crunchy. I especially like the tempura batter, and the amount of sauce was enough to soak all the way through the rice. This was the core of the meal, and it was good enough and satiating as is.

When it comes to the takoyaki, they are more or less what they are. These are probably not the best that I have had, but were still tasty and moreish enough. There were big bits of octopus in the balls, and the sauce was thick and dark as per usual. On top of it was plenty of the characteristic shavings, all making it a good side.

The highlight might have been the sushi that I got though. As simple as it is, the inari sushi has always been one of the ones that I have liked the most from a sushi train. Perhaps it is in the Japanese cuisine tradition, but it probably comes down to the simplicity and how well it is handled. With the inari sushi, it all has to do with the marination of the tofu pocket. For this one, they added in some tuna and topped it off with seaweed, both of which were tasty and had distinct differences in both the taste and the texture. The rice was well steamed, the seaweed retained its bite and signature texture, and the amount of tuna added in was generous, and there was a nice flavour to it. All up, we have another solid and wining array.

While they won't get any critique here - since they are not indicative of Sushi Too in anyway - it will still be mentioned for sake of completion. More often that not, I tend to get an iced tea going to Japanese places since they are tasty and relatively healthy as a choice and I did here, choosing the lychee iced tea from Pokka. This is more or less what it is, maybe it is a tad on the bland side at times. The drink was refreshing and light, and for what it was it was good enough.

A second thing that I got, since it was only a couple of dollars with change left - and why not on that case, I added in a packet of the Hello Panda cookies. From what I can remember, I have had these - or something similar - beforehand, and these were also gotten in case the house mate had not tried them before, he hadn't. These are small and sweet, plus the chocolate I recall was a bit darker than most other cookies that are available. These are worth a small nibble here and there, and honesty would be fantastic as an ice cream mix-in.

With all of it being said and done, this essentially is one more place that manages to delivery what is needed in a competent manner. For the most part, all that I can gauge from it is how the food stood up with a bit of speculation from other information, and the food is definitely passable. This is at a bar standard again, and in these days that bar standard has more or less been set at a pretty reasonable height of quality for the most part. That is the best way to describe Sushi Too, more so about their main meals which were filling and wholesome ergo being a satisfying buy. If the inari that came alongside them is anything to go by, then they just may well be better than what I am already given them credit for. Take that as you will.

As a regular customer, I can see this nice little sushi "train"restaurant, has improved a lot lately.
My family and I are happy to have them in the neighborhood, another choice when get hungry at night. Now we have our Friday night as Sushi Night, call in advance and pickup, no need to cook, nor any dishes to wash.....

About the food, could always ask chef to make nice and fresh sushi for us, get fine restaurant quality for a "train" price. With the loyalty card, we effectively get 10%off for everything we eat.
Not a big fan of Sashimi myself, but they have very good quality salmon sashimi according to my wife.
Teriyaki chicken rice bowl is absolutely my favorite, beats any teriyaki chicken I tried in other Japanese restaurant.

We had a great experience at Sushi Too! We went to the all you can eat sushi event there and we tried almost all the options. We loved the aburi wagyu nigiri and spicy chicken rolls. We felt like there was a bit too much rice as we got full quite quickly, but other than that, the food was great. The service was quite good too! The staff was nice and friendly.

I wish I could give them 6 stars but unfortunately there's no such option. Karaage rolls are insanely good and I just smashed down 2 plates, still craving for more. So long, my diet plan! Shout out to the super nice staff too. Thank you for the great night! I'll definetely be coming back.

Nice sushi and other Japanese fare. I've only ever had take away, but the shop seems like a nice enough place to sit and eat. For the price the food is great. Recommend the Japanese curries and prawn parcels in particular.

We stopped here on a monday night on our way out of town, it was just after 8 and I was a little suprised they were still open. We were the only people dining in however they seemed to do a brisk trade in take aways and home delivery. The Sushi itself was pretty good, well priced and the special orders we asked for were delivered quickly and were fresh. Well worth a visit

It’s a good restaurant to have the chicken katsu curry rice bowl and the fresh seafood sushi plates. They also provide the rewards card for customers. I got the secret dish lol~ That’s the miso okau with salmon, ebi, tobikko and cheese. It tastes amazing, and hot miso soup made me feel very warm in this cold winter~
