So pleased to see a new take over of this greatly positioned cafe on the cliffs at Kangaroo Point. Used to be called Cliffs Cafe now Bar Spritz. Coffee much improved since last visited years ago when called Cliff's. My flat white was strong with the double shot & well presented with a rich aroma & creamily textured milk. Breakfast was not overpriced as we were expecting with that great view. Food is simple but fresh & tasty, my avocado came in a half fan with lemon wedge butter & thin toast.
Since the took over from the previous Cliffs Cafe, Spritz has up and down feedbacks from customers. Visited it this morning to check out. Firstly, set up is better than the last management, where diners still can enjoy beautiful river view and relaxed ambience. Service seems up down that not all the wait-staff are friendly but the barista who served me is the exception. She is polite, friendly with passion. Due to too early (6:30am) that kitchen is not ready to serve brekkie and the sweet or croissant did not attract me at all; therefore I just ordered a flat white. Coffee came with nice coffee art and strong strength. Maybe I was lucky, my impression on this cafe is not bad at all :)
Great ambience and a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Drinks were expensive and service was slow as there were 2 functions the night we booked for dinner. Staff were friendly though and quite helpful. Antipasto platter was nice but had some strange cubes of tomato that really didn’t belong on the plate and didn’t taste very nice. Could be improved. Mains were good. Pasta was lovely. I had he Ragu. I’d go again for sure but I think there’s room for improvement. Toilets are disgusting and there’s never any soap (we are there every Saturday morning after a run) but this is the council’s fault I think. Overall the restaurant did well for a busy night but a drinks special would be a good idea or 2 courses and a drink type deal...
