Have visited a number of times for lunch. Always friendly. Sushi chef prepares a well presented sashimi with a decent range of fish. Thoroughly recommended.

I had a quick casual dinner at Ginga on my way to the airport. I started with some gyoza. I was assured by the staff they were prawn which was reassuring as I don't eat pork. They were the oiliest gyoza I've ever had - not the best. I moved on the sushi. I found it hard to identify what was going around on the train especially for the sushi covered in mayonnaise. The sushi I had was cooked tuna and avocado. It was average overall and the tuna tasted very sweet. I had ordered a main meal - a large sized salmon belly with avocado and ponzu sauce. It took longer than expected to arrive considering there weren't many people there but when it arrived it looked and tasted exquisite. The salmon was juicy and served at room temperature for maximum flavour. The avocado was generous. There were also some noodles to round out the dish and add some much needed crunch and caviar for flavour. I'm not sure what the red stuff was on top. It looked like fake saffron. I decided not to eat it as it barely seemed edible. I hope I didn't miss out on something good. Overall, this place is average but judging from the meal I had I would definitely recommend a meal rather than eating from the train.

Located in the lovely Portside Wharf shopping area, Ginga is great for a fresh bite to eat. Our party of four arrived at the tail end of the busy lunch period but were lucky to get one of the tables of four. There was a wide selection of sushi circulating on the conveyor belt but sometimes it was difficult to figure out what everything was by looking it up on the menu as the items were moving quite quickly. I really enjoyed eating here, favourite was the tempura prawn!

Best Karaage!. I have been here twice and both times I ordered the small chicken Katsu Curry and Chicken Karaage - both awesome, both times. This has been the only place I've found in Brisbane that uses pure chicken breast - no fat. Whenever I have eaten Karaage at Sushi Trains, I always feel ill afterwards because of all the fat on the chicken but Ginga Karaage is the best.

Fresh & Friendly. I enjoyed my experience at Ginga Portside very much. There was a large range to choose from and it all appeared fresh and well presented. I can highly recommend Ginga, Portside.

Since they've opened I haven't been disappointed. There's different chicken karage from other Ginga sushi trains haven't decided yet which I prefer. Love that they have pork buns and lots of dumpling choices. Their selection of sweet plum wines are worth trying. Run in fast for takeaway or before the cinema or sit at a table and chat over a long meal of lots of different types of cooked & raw sushi. Fav- seared salmon with basil or chicken teriyaki with wasabi and ginger. Super service, don't need to try and catch their eyes, there is a little button at each seat if you want to order something or get the bill and they practically run to you. Mostly friendly some shy wait staff.

Our weekly sushi fix. Would I return? Absolutely, we come back every Wednesday
Good? Service is attentive and food is delish
Bad? Sometimes the warm dishes circle long enough to go cold, but that's just the way with sushi train I guess. If I ordered from the menu it would be hot.

We visit Ginga Portside as our Wednesday night treat for going to the gym and we always look forward to it.

It is probably more a reflection of our love for Japanese food, but there are plenty of options to pick from on the menu and I love spotting a beautifully presented dish of something new to try.

Service at Ginga Portside is attentive and I appreciate the refills of green tea.

Try the okonomiyaki and banana gyoza.

Good food, no sushi train running when we were there but there wasn't a long wait to order or to get our food served. Fresh and yummy with a large selection of typical Japanese. Licensed. Free 1 hour parking right out the front.

Service was great, food was good. Would definitely recommend the wagyu beef option. The vegetable tempura is not as good as it used to be with no pumpkin or asparagus but mostly capsicum unfortunately.

Very good Japanese food good friendly service for the young waitress she was Korean but very helpful ... Haven't had nice Japanese food like this since I was in Japan ..would go again recommend it to try and reasonable price 👍🏻 🇯🇵
