I go to a pub for 3 reasons. A steak, cold beer and to relax. The doors closed behind me and the latter started. The cold beer added to the relaxation but it wasn't until I had the first bite of the perfectly medium rare that I really felt like just saying stuff it!...I'll stay the rest of the afternoon.
Thank you for the great service and a damned fine meal.
We had a wonderful experience at The Gap Tavern celebrating my husband's 75th Birthday. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and even though there were 35 of us in the glassed off area of the Bistro, all our meals came out together. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal. The staff were very obliging and were happy to provide knife and plates for our birthday cake. Thank you for helping to make our evening such an enjoyable one.
Wasn't Bad. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews on the food. We ate there last night had a starter of bruschetta and mains of rump steak and chicken parma. All three were delish. The steak was ordered rare and came out rare, very tender and just lovely. The chicken parma was very nice, good quality ham just enough cheese, a little lacking in the tomato parma sauce but not enough to worry about. Husband had a creamy garlic sauce on his steak and that was very bland and tasted more like the steak it was on than garlic.
It was astoundingly busy considering it was a Wednesday night but our food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. The staff weren't rude just busy but whatever the POS system is, it really held up ordering - it appeared that changing our order from a Coke Zero to a Diet Coke was rather tricky.
As we were leaving the lead waiter came and checked on us to see if our meal was okay etc - overall we were really very happy with dinner last night and would go there again - maybe tho try a Tuesday night - oh and take a jumper with the windows open and air con does get a bit chilly.
