The Witchin kitchen – Review:

Hubby and I met up with friends for a pre-Christmas lunch here. Our lady friend (the artist) is a vegan, so this was a great venue for us. The Kitchen is in an old corner store, and has a coffee place attached. Love the décor, the tiles, and the coloured-glass highset windows. Our friends had a vego/vegan pie each, with a smear of a spicy, orange purée – pumpkin maybe, or sweet potato? Tasty anyway. Hubby ate sweet potato, carrot and corn fritters, with eggs, labneh and salad. They were golden-brown and crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. The eggs were well-cooked, with runny insides – as they should be. Salad was very green and leafy; a healthy little side. We shared fries with aioli, which went down a treat. I chose Bug’s Brekkie Burger – fried eggs, hash brown, halloumi, avocado, leaves and beetroot hollandaise (a fabulous shade of pink!) on a brioche bun. Oddly, I only got one egg, not the two on the menu, but no matter, I really loved this tasty and filling dish. Soft avocado, a bright pink hollandaise, a beautifully done egg with a runny middle, not too many leaves on a not too sweet bun. He had a strawberry milkshake, while I drank a chocolate one. Very filling! All up, a very pleasant lunch in a pleasant spot. Service (as per usual these days) is perfunctory, with DIY ordering at the counter. It has become ubiquitous, so I guess I can’t blame them for that.

💛🍠THE HUNT FOR THE BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES !!!🍠💛

We think we have found our favourite sweet potato fries in North side of Brisbane✨ !!! Here in our local area - Sandgate at the Witchen Kitchen ! Kiki's been on the hunt for the best sweet potato fries as we are both going gluten free we have opted for the other fries alternative - SWEET POTATO 🍠!!!

We reviewed this cafe last year when it was called Salt Water cafe - now back with new owners & a new name - The Witchen Kitchen🌟 has got our No.1 best cafe for sweet potato fries so far !

The sweet potato fries are a perfect mix of slightly crispy on the outside, soft in the inside, perfectly salted with sea salt and the most delicious aoli sauce !🍽

This spot is right next to The Wired Owl Cafe🍽 - they actually work in partnership with coffees & food !Give them a try or let us know if youve had better & where ! 😆 we love the cafe vibe, great menu with healthy options and friendly staff. We will be back !

Really cute new local café. Removing plastic straws from their drinks would be the cherry on top!
