Great lunch and breakfast food made fresh daily. I occasionally stop by here for a quick lunch or breakfast fix. Baguettes are to die for, they use authentic french baguettes which I don't think you could get anywhere else in the CBD. Coffee is also great.
I had been to this cafe many years ago & reviewed it, my review has disappeared so am assuming they have had an ownership change? I remember my original opinion of the coffee here was unfavorable, but this time I was presented with a great cup of Toby's Estate. Double shot was standard in a small cup resulting in a rich smooth brew
I went to Cool Beans and Baguettes for a quick lunch. I chose a pre-made salad and a small fresh juice. I chose the super power salad because the ingredients listed on the top looked healthy and included all things I like. I asked for my favourite juice combo. I was surprised that this came to $15 - it seemed just a few dollars too much but I figured that was the cost of a CBD meal. After I sat down I was informed there was no beetroot for my favourite juice. I substituted with orange. I was slightly disappointed until it arrived and it was delicious. The salad included raw eschallots which were not listed on the ingredients and have an unexpected raw onion flavour- another disappointment. Overall, my lunch was okay. The service was friendly and the good was ready to go but just a couple of niggles that would stop me rushing back.
Fresh not fried! Refreshing healthier version to quick lunch options at the top end of town including some yummy salads, no carb options, gluten free, yoghurts & snacks.
Saturday morning just around the corner coffee aid. love the coffee here, but it just took a little too long for the wait....saw some breakfast made....it was huge !! gotta try it sometime.
Love this place! Quite surprised to see the negativity about it on here. Amazing coffees, service and excellent location. What more could you ask for?
We go to cool beans and baguettes twice a week for coffee before work. The service is always friendly and the coffee is always nice. Two extra special things I like about cool beans, the fantale they give with each coffee, and the very generous buy 5, get 1 free coffee cards.
Best breakfast and coffee in Brisbane. A great way to start my early day. Along with very friendly service and cool music. Looking out over the park. Definitely recommended.
Visited for the first time today - great coffee and really friendly staff - feels like a bit of a hidden gem on George Street.
Been going there for coffee for well over a yr now and can't get better, nor friendlier service than this family-run business! Bal and his wife are always up for a chat and their son Steve hand makes banana bread that is amazing! Pieces of fresh cooked banana with whole walnuts dashed with melted butter... Mmm. 5-stars guys!
EDIT: We've made this our regular stop for our caffeine/download session so often every week we even scored our very own VIP table! *winning*
Low key but good coffee and an excellent breakfast
Hey coffee lovers! I have been going to cool beans and baguettes well over a year now and the coffee here has always been consistently good.
For someone who is not a big coffee drinker, I have made this place part of my work day ritual simply because of the really friendly service of this small family-run business.
The reason I came back to this place was that the owners made the effort of remembering my name from week one, and since then every visit had been a positive experience. The owner always makes time to greet us, and if time willing he (and his wife) will sit down and chat with us, making the place feel even more welcoming.
The place has seating for some low key casual dining for breakfast or lunch. Their baguettes and ready-made meals are prepared daily in-house. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.
Loved our veggie breakfast and bacon muffin! Poached eggs were cooked perfectly, coffee delicious and all was very reasonably priced. We'll be back!
The beans were so cool and the baugettes were there too!!! Love it 10/10
