This is by far the best food I have ever had! We came for my birthday tonight and had the calamari and lamb shoulder which was TO DIE FOR! I was then surprised with a complimentary dessert for my birthday which was so lovely. Paulo was our server and he was so friendly! Highly recommend trying! We will be back for that lamb again! �
Visiting from Sydney for my birthday last night, we hadn’t made a reservation, but were greeted with the most genuine and friendly staff. We were shown straight to a table and treated like VIP’s. The food was outstanding! We had the Lamb shoulder; it was so tender and generous. We even left and came back an hour later for tea and desert! I will always come back here when I’m on the Gold Coast. Thankyou for making our night so lovely.
Love the specials that is on at the moment ! Fresh food , steak is so tender and juicy, sauce just matching the foods on the plate so well! Portion of what you get is great ,friendly staffs in a beautiful environment! Really enjoy the night at this restaurant! Recommend to everyone! Ps there is an extra prawn from other plate!
My partner and I had drinks at the Garden Kitchen and Bar before dinner at The Star Casino and thought the atmosphere and cocktails were fantastic. We had margaritas (a recommendation from one of the bartenders) they were seriously delicious! There is a great selection of drinks and nibbles and the outdoor area is great to stop by for a chill time with friends.
We ate at Garden Kitchen on a busy Saturday night. The place was absolutely heaving with atmosphere and there were perhaps about three times as many drinking at the bar than eating at the tables. Our waiter was a hoot and really went above and beyond to describe the menu and drinks specials.
I ordered the lamb rump and while KD ordered calamari and a side of greens for mains and a delightful crab cake to start with.
There was a lot of flavour to that blue spammer crab cake but it was tiny and heck and for 12 each we would have hoped for a little more. I loved the flavour of my lamb dish but disappointing that it was cooked somewhere like medium/well when I was specifically asked and had it recommended to me that I order medium rear.
Drinks wise some good wine choices and $15 margarita specials which were a quality margarita and generous with the alcohol.
Our meals took a reasonable time to arrive but we were fine with that as could soak up the atmosphere.
Was a really pleasant restaurant to dine in. We went for a birthday dinner. The food tasted amazing just a bit slow which was annoying. but overall everything was good.

Today saw us traveling down to the gold coast to meet up with friends for the annual xmas catch up. Friends suggested we go to the star, as there was a nice restaurant to try as they have been there numerous times.
Parking is easy, there are numerous parks at the casino, and is also free. Very nice atmosphere when you enter, very open and staff are very accommodating. I guess since there are local, interstate and international guest staying and eating here.
We had a table already booked and were shown to our table with 3 baby chairs. Menus are on the table, and we had a quick browse. Very small menu, which makes it easier to choose items. I let my friend choose the starters and ww all chose the same mains, eye fillets for the ladies and beef ribs for the gents. Starts were, crab cakes, kingfish ceviche, lemon and myrtle calamari, and dozen oysters. Kids each had chicken, beef burger and fish, all with chips and drink.
It was a little busy session just on lunch time, but with the amount of staff on, our food arrived in the right amount of time. So wait wasnt long at all.
The entrees were nice, we really enjoyed them all. The kingfish was lacking a little flavour but was still refreshing.
3 crab cakes with a side of salad, after each sharing 1 piece each, needed more.
Mains arrived and they all looked appetizing, was really looking forward to the nice juicy piece of beef rib. Once I took my knife and tried to cut, my meat was very hard and tough, trying a bit it was dry and very hard to chew. I went into a second piece and it was the same. I tried a piece off a friends plate and theirs was totally different, moist and falls apart. I think I got 3 end pieces and wasnt enjoyable. When staff came around and asked how it was, I told them it was dry and very hard to eat. She sorry and asked to take the plate back and to make a new plate. So my next plate was totally different to the first, my beef was very tender and moist as it should have been. I really enjoyed it, and same staff came as asked if it was to my liking.
The others enjoyed their eye fillets also, and after a few beers, wine and good company. This place we will come back to when down the coast

Amazing ice cream but the portions were so tiny!! Also the lighting at night was super dim, like I couldn’t even see where I was walking. Also annoying how part of the seating is blocked off in the area after a certain time.

The restaurant has good Club sandwiches at lunch time.
Dinner time, the steak was good and much nicer than the fish. Wasn’t expecting sweet flavour and fruit pieces on the fish. Didn’t enjoy the fish.
The bar has good drinks and it’s got a good vibe during daytime and night time over the weekends
I enjoy the drinks more than the food selection at the restaurant
This place was accidentally discovered as we were in the vicinity looking for good spot to eat at & voila we found it though we were the last guest to b entertained as their last order is 10pm & we got there at 9:45pm🙈
Well, the wagyu steak was incredible so was their Caesar salad.
If back in Gold Coast certainly gonna visit this place again.
Really nice food great service.
Oysters were fresh and tasty prices were good considering the quality.
Free range chicken was cooked to perfection.
Will be back for sure.
Modern update on the classic hotel cafe outlet. Interesting menu, with a good range of healthy options. We enjoyed the poke, carrot salad, beetroot & goats cheese and then chocolate plate to share.
