I came here for brunch with my sister.
The service was exceptional. The guy that served us was very inviting and nice.
We loved our food. It was filling and delicious.
It was my first time trying gluten free pancakes and coconut yoghurt. I’m usually very bloated after I eat pancakes but i found the meal light and satisfying. The maple syrup was tasty and the strawberries were fresh/sweet. The mixed berry topping balanced out the yoghurt and syrup. I also enjoyed the coffee.
Did someone say vegan pancake? How'd they know I'm unable to pass them up. Minimo's rendition are not too over the top, which is actually quite refreshing as they don't leave me with a sugar/fat stomachache. Compote plus raw berries add freshness while the cashew butter adds a creamy decadence. (Looks like they've now swapped this for coconut yoghurt, which would have the same effect.)
We had a really lovely breakfast today! I had the Avocado Bruschetta, it was delicious! My boyfriend had the special blueberry pancakes, they were fluffy, so yummy and it was a really big portion! The service was super friendly and also informed us about daily specials that were not on the Menue. I can definitely recommend that place 😊
Delicious vegan pancakes!!! Good coffee and very friendly service. Café had a lovely atmosphere too. Thank you for having delicious vegan options!
Minimo was such a good spot for a quick coffee. The young barristor I had today was wearing tape around his wrist which was off putting. But I guess because he is crunching coffees out a rate it would do some serious damage to the skeletal segment of the hand. 10/10 would kill myself :)
Absolutely the best. Me and my partner came here for brunch on the weekend. It took ages for our food to come only because it was so busy there. We were lucky to find a table. Waitresses were so lovely and gave us free drinks as compensation for the late meal. Really delicious food. We adored the turmeric latte and the chai latte. Just a really good time. Would do it again.
I really like this place. Coffee never dissapoints and service is always top. Menu is always changing amd fresh. Prob a little pricey on some items but overall a good regular
The updated menu is great for everyone. With lots of competition popping up in the area, they are a strong standout. Definitely one of my favourites.
Nice, quaint cafe. I had poached eggs on toast and couldn't complain. Eggs were poached nicely which is important. Friend got a potato rosti which looked delicious!
Minimo is a small humble cafe standing lonesomely on the of corner Sydney road and Donald street in Brunswick. With black umbrellas our the front providing shade for the small portion of outdoor seating, this cafe create a lovely family friendly feel. The interior of the cafe although small is set out well, easily accomodating for larger family groups, though most of the seating is preferable for parties or two.
On a lazy Sunday afternoon we entered Minimo’s doors to a rather packed atmosphere with family gatherings blocking pathways due to there large obnoxious prams but none the less we where greeted by friendly staff who seated us in the conner near the window. We where presented with menus and left to decipher through the diverse extensive menu. From various different pancakes, burgers, and other delicious versatile dishes the menu certainly caters for all. After much discussion we where finally ready to order on the 5th attempt. The waitress was so lovely and patient and very helpful when inquiring into certain aspects of items on the menu. We decided to go for the mouthwatering Wagyu beef Reuben Sandwich and the old faithful Minimo’s granola with beverages being a long black and a soy Golden latte.
Our drinks arrived promptly and where exquisite. The long black was thick and aromatic with great bitter chocolatey tasting notes crafting for a perfect brew. The Golden latte being made up of soy milk, tumeric, cinnamon, pepper and ginger served with honey was by far the best I’ve tried. The latte was lovely and spicy soothing the tummy and enlightening the sense. The honey added a nice touch of sweetness but didn’t over power the flavoursome beverage.
Next to arrive was our magnificent looking meals. The Wagyu Beef Reuben Sandwich constructed with there famous grilled sour dough with Wagyu pastrami, melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut, house made tomato mayo, seeded mustard, green leaves and a dill pickle plus flat chips was flawless. The burger was a hefty size and was a struggle to finish but a meal that tasted that good one could not leave a bite left on there plate. The patty was moist and cooked to perfection. The house made tomato mayo was great paired with the gooey cheese and tangy taste from the sauerkraut. The bun was toasted well ensuring it was the best carrier for the loaded burger soaking up the juices like a sponge. The highlight would have to be the flat chips. Seasoned and sliced thinly, they where crunchy and crisp and not to oily being the greatest companion to this mighty burger.
Minimo’s granola was equally as divine being presented in an assemble yourself like fashion. The granola made up of nuts, chia seeds, grains, seeds, oats shredded coconut and dates, baked in honey and maple topped with fresh banana, strawberries and blueberries finished with a side of greek yoghurt and my personal preference of Bonsoy, was yummy and filling. To start with the generous serve of milk was much appreciated as I dislike it when cafes skimp on the milk hardly giving enough to cover the granola. The greek yoghurt was thick and creamy and once paired with the velvety soy milk poured over the crunchy sweet granola this bowl of goodness came to life. The nuts and seeds added textual crunch and the toasted coconut added a nice smokey aspect. The oats and chia seeds absorb the milk well making for a very filling meal. The granola its self was roasted to perfection and wasn’t too sweet at all. The fresh fruit on top refreshed the palate adding tartness from the tangy berries and the dried dates provided a chewy aspect.
After filling our bellies until they where about to explode we finished with a soothing soy mocha. The mocha was frothy and creamy with the perfect balance of chocolate to caffeine ratio, finishing off a very successful feed.
Minimo is a great little establishment serving immaculate food and coffee from a very extensive menu in a cosy family friendly environment. The staff are great and its not wonder this place seems to get busy as it appears its a favourite spot for locals in the area.
I just can not believe the size of a scoop I received, just ginormous!!
Amazing staff, huge range of flavours, and cakes for a future visit.
Highly recommended.
I love this place! Orded the oat milk choc and pineapple sorbet and both were very tasty. I loved that the chocolate one wasn't too rich - it was perfect 😙👌
Great range of flavours. Better quality than a lot of these gelato places that have popped up recently.
Downside is all those tiny plastic spoons. Staff always seem to change and depending on who serves you, depends on how big your serve is.
2 scoops will cost $6.80 so sometimes it is value for money, other times not so much.
Amazing customer service by Alex, she's been so patient with us and very sweet. Plus the ice cream scoops are EXTREMELY generous in size.
Best Ice Cream in Melbourne Xx
The best gelato I’ve ever tasted 😍 the lemon, watermelon, mango, mint sorbet and pistachio was so heavenly it’s like if I could eat clouds that’s how I imagined it tastes like. ☁️ . The staff were friendly and helpful, really good service and overall ambiance.
Bombe Alaska 10/10! Light biscuit base with lemon and raspberry gelato with a light layer of meringue. Very refreshing, it was perfect dessert and complimented our Italian lunch. Cut into slices (not wedges) enough to feed 20 people
Great little gelato store that is clean and bright with very friendly guy working behind the counter. When I visited they had a range of flavours like Amaretto Cherry, Fairy Bread, Salted Caramel and Snickers. The Snickers was delicious and creamy! Generous scoop also! They also have sorbets, cannoli and cakes! Definitely give Lagom Gelato a visit!
