What an amazing restaurant! We dined in for both dinner then breakfast the next day. The staff are warm, welcoming and genuinely happy to serve you and have a joke, chat or just entertain your kids. The food was sensational- probably the best Italian we’ve had in Australia ! 100% recommend popping in here for a filling meal after a day out on the reef or exploring Cairns !! If you are willing to explore food options, their crab omelette for breakfast is incredible- absolutely loved it, while our teens loved the pancake option (one was literally jiggling in her seat with joy at how light, fluffy and tasty it was !!) We will be back next time we’re in Cairns !!

The Garlic bread is my favorite! Crispy and delicious! During busy dinner hours, the serving speed is not too slow.

After observing the innumerable occupied tables at day and at night, we took the opportunity to book a reservation there for lunch. Although some have labelled the restaurant as a tourist trap for its prime position, I sat down with the expectations of authentic, heart-warming Italian food and I got just that. Our server was courteous and patient throughout with our order of a Salsiccia Italiana calzone and a Capriciossa pizza arriving in due time. It also came with a free drink as part of their $22 lunch special and menu, including beer and wine! The sizeable calzone, more monstrous than Mount Etna, was bursting with filling, the sad, unseasoned rocket salad on the plate forgotten as quickly as it was swallowed. The masterful combination of the peppery Italian sausage, vibrant sundried tomatoes, salty olives and chewy boccocini makes the fluffy calzone the best vehicle for such bountiful flavours. Their pizza is commendable as well credited to the wood fired oven and the outstanding dough with its soft yet tenacious texture. I deeply enjoyed the briny charm and harmony of the ingredients of the Capriciossa, the singular weak link being the ham which was too salty for my tastes. Of course, I devoured the whole pizza with glee and without regrets on dining here. The brilliant view of the board walk and the sea is just an added bonus to a marvellous meal at Villa Romana.

We wandered in here for dinner and despite being initially concerned it may take a while to receive our food, our order came out within a few short minutes. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We aren’t big pasta eaters but both really enjoyed our dishes and will definitely be back!

The food was delicious and served hot. The service was the best I've had in a long time. The waiter was very attentive and nothing was a problem. I will be going back and recommending Villa Romana to everybody I know or asks for a restaurant recommendation.👍
