Convenient late night option for yummy Indian food. Large proportions and friendly service. Vice is more street food with tables than a fancy sit down place but good cannot be faulted. Decent selection of well cooked Indian food. Excellent option for travelers looking for a quick bite or craving good Indian good. Naans were little burnt on the edges but still very tasty. Basic dessert selection. Would definitely eat here again if Indian food was in mind.
Food was very good and worth a visit. Pictures are as follows:
* Oval shaped bowl with lots of green yellow orange is the samosa chaat. Comes with 2 samosas smashed up with a heap of Chana masala, coriander, yoghurt etc…
* orange dish is bitter chicken
* yellow fish is vegetable Korma
Prices seem higher than other places, but compensated for by larger than normal servings. We ended up ordering too much as we weren’t expecting the generous portion sizes. The naans are definitely expensive though at $5.95 for a garlic naan.
Don’t be put off by the Bain Marie at the front. Indian curry is best NOT cooked on the spot anyway, it’s best cooked a day or two before so that it can marinate.
If I was to eat Indian again in Cairns I would probably try some of the other highly rated places too so that I could compare.
This restaurant is amazing. The portion sizes are so generous and the food is incredible. The lamb vindaloo is the best I’ve had in ages! Service is wonderful and open all day so very convenient if you are hungry out of normal eating hours. Highly recommend if you are in cairns.
