Coming here for years, never fails to disappoint
Absolutely top Babs and HSP's. I have a Muslim colleague who told me that the religion the guys who own this place practice isn't Islam - it's food. You will have to wait to get your order, but that is the price for a place so popular. If you're new to Canberra and in the area, give it a go, you won't leave disappointed. HSP with the holy trinity is the go. It truly is the king of South side Turkish food.
This place is soooooo busy. Arrived at 6pm and the line started to extend out the door. Not a surprise though, as every man and his dog I have spoken to from Canberra raves about Yarra Kebabs. We enjoyed a vegetarian and chicken pide, plus a Halal Snack Pack. The dough for the pide was stretched in front of our eyes, and turned out piping hot - delicious. The snack pack was also super tasty. Will return for a Kebab next visit to ACT!
I've only had take away and I'm in love with their doner kebabs- love the freshness of the parsley and the veggies they stuff in. Generous serving too. Good job you'll.
There’s a kebab shop at every nook n corner in Australia...however I bet my bottom dollar that you have never been to any like the one at Yarralumla. The meat is fresh and well cooked, dips are tasty - just what you would expect from your favourite kebab joint. What takes your breath away is the Bread - freshly baked delicious Turkish bread - have it separately or your kebab wrapped in it - anyway you like it.
We came here to get takeaway for dinner. It's busy and the ordering system can be a bit confusing (Luckily, we had a fellow customer who helped us out)
Between two people, we shared a chicken kebab and the mixed izgara main (mixed skewers, kofte, lamb cutlet with rice and salad). Good quantity and yummy food.
The Zomato app is amazing. We were hungry so put lunch into the app. This place was close. We arrived and the place was packed and we were so impressed how efficiently the staff got through all of the customers. The Kebab OMG so fresh fantastic flavours and huge. The chicken, tabouli and garlic sauce was a 10/10. A must visit to pick up lunch then enjoy by the lake.
Best kebab in town however my kebab was a lot smaller last night and I hope this isn't the change they are bringing in as jam packed kebabs was there selling point and what everyone goes there for.
The famous kebab place in Yarralumla was packed at lunchtime on a Saturday as expected. This place is a no frills eatery that serves quality food at a reasonable price. I must admit that the portions are HUGE so please bring your appetite. The shop has EFTPOS which is a relief.
We ordered a cheese, mushroom and olive pide topped with sesame seeds onion seeds, which was fantastic. We also ordered the mixed grill plate.. which came with a grilled lamb cutlet, a lamb kefta, a chicken shish kebab, a lamb kebab, mixed green salad, Turkish rice and youghurt sauce. The meats were well cooked and seasoned well, with the lamb cutlet having a slight char which was delectable.
The overall quantity of food was such that the three of us could not finish the food.
I will have to postpone trying the kebabs till my next visit, because I will definitely be back.
Recommended.
The best kebab you'll buy - the new writing your order system is impersonal and awkward. The shop needs a redesign and the staff need an attitude check; the food however, speaks for itself. Generous portions and delicious vegetarian options. They need to ditch the minimum eftpos and stock a better drinks fridge. 1 kebab between 2 will do.
really great spot for kebabs! clearly the locals know about this as it was continuously busy!
to order you go in and grab a wrapper and pen, then tick the boxes/ingredients you want.. hand it over n pay
super easy and super efficient!
the kebabs are super generous in serving size! and packs in a heap of meat but still giving a good ratio between meats n salad n sauce. one kebab can def feed two! (or feeds one if ur super hungry!)
they got a few outdoor tables if you wanna sit n eat but this place is predominantly a takeaway shop
A $21 Lamb and Veggie Pide will feed three big blokes (and a cat) with some left over. Their dough isn't a standard bread but rather more of a sourdough-type, making for an interesting additional taste to what is already a flavourful meal. Please check the picture showing how much you get. I will definitely be going back there again.
5 stars for food!! This is not the place if you want cloth napkins and table service. It is loud and a real family atmosphere. The staff are lovely and funny if you give them a break this is an incredibly busy place and they do a great job for the amount of people that they serve.
We have been going there for 5 years and will continue to go back because the food is amazing and the service great.
Delicious Turkish food. The best kebab in Canberra, for sure. I recommend.
Tasty, pretty good kebab for Canberra. Beware as the kebabs are piping hot! Also, if you’re eating in be on the lookout for magpies and ibises hunting for food.
Great value for money and one of the best kebab around canberra and the great part is they make their own bread there so it’s always soft, tasty and fresh even the magpies love it 😆
