Nhà hàng của Vũ Hùng Sơn ỏ Australia ???
Small, busy & tasty.
Just what I needed, with fast no fuss service our food arrived promptly and it was delicious. I had a pho which was the best I've had in Canberra after leaving Melbourne one year ago.
I only managed to try the popular Vietnamese restaurant, Tu Do, in O’Connor very recently to the chagrin of my foodie friends. Located at the O’Connor shops, Tu Do was not hard to find and filled with diners. The restaurant was a lot more modern than expected – I loved the dark timber floorboards. It took a few minutes to get some service as there was only one person working the floor. The menu had Vietnamese staples such as pho (starting from $12), bun cha, and com tam, as well as other items more common on a Chinese menu such as satay, sweet and sour, and black bean dishes. I noticed a garlic rice option which I haven’t really seen anywhere else besides Filipino restaurants. I’ve been told that the fried chicken wings were a must-eat so I made sure to order it.
Tu Do is Canberra's oldest Vietnamese restaurant and may well be the best. It's a small BYO shopfront in the O'Connor shops in Canberra's inner north. The food is just fantastic - varied dishes, fresh, authentic food matched with good service. There is a bottle shop in the shopping centre but it closes early so best to take drinks to accompany your meal with you. I will definitely eat at Tu Do again.
We only come here for Pho as we tried other dishes, but were not impressed, with the exception of the pan fried chicken wings, which are crispy and rightly seasoned accompanied by a fish sauce and chilli sauce mixture as dipping sauce. The Pho for us is excellent with high quality beef and tasty beef balls. However, quite frankly we are not experienced Pho eaters so can't really compare with many others, but compared to one or two others, this Pho is far better.
Had lunch here today with my family for the first time and fair to say WOW the pho was amazing, the broth mixed with the tender beef was just Devine!!! Quick service mixed with friendly staff made it turn into a great lunch. Would go back for sure.
Tu Do is a little O'Connor delight. The food is always fresh and flavoursome and priced reasonably. The Pho is light and refreshing and I find them to be very generous with the meat, it's also always very lean! The restaurant tends to be pretty packed most of the time and is fairly squishy.. there also tends to be a screaming kid, so not recommended if you're after an interrupted chat.
Absolutely brilliant pho! I had the rare beef, my sister had the chicken. Light, delicious and hearty all at the same time. We'll be back with friends!
Great Vietnamese restaurant. Amazing food, great service and friendly staff!
A must if you enjoy great Vietnamese food.
Perfect Vietnamese. You can't go wrong with this Canberra institution. Whether you want a steaming bowl of Pho, some peanut beef or, as we discovered last time, the crispy goodness that is their fried, stuffed chicken wings, you can get it all at Tu Do and you won't have to spend much either. Plus service is super speedy. Love it for a quick weeknight catch up with a friend or two rather than a big group but I'm sure it could do both.
BEST IN CBR ! The only place to go for Pho. Have spent a lot of time in vietnam and this is the best Vietnamese food in CBR. Simple dining and great prices. It's a must!!!
I love this place.
But my vegetarian girlfriend doesn't like the options.
Would be great if they changed the menu so I could eat here more often.
The mint beef is my favourite highly recommend. They also have mint chicken which is also good.
Have been here number of times over the years! The quality of the food is not bad and fairly consistent. The pho broth was pretty nice but serving portions could have been improved and didn’t have as many types of ingredients compared to others. The pork chop was nice but a little fry. Overall a good option for Vietnamese in cbd area.
Very authentic vietnamese food...look at the pan fried chicken wings, delicious. And the rice noodles soup, the rice noodles are so chewy, the texture is great. Very nice meal. Will definitely go again if coming to Canberra.
After 3 years being overseas our first stop for takeaway was to return to the TuDo Restaurant in O’Connor. The wonderful cooking smells as you walked in the restaurant was so good. We ordered big on the TuDo meals, our favourites we discussed every time we thought of Vietnamese Food. Tu Do didn’t disappoint. We loved our chicken wings, veg spring rolls, chilli chicken and lemon grass, satay chicken and stir fry veg. Great food. We travel all the way from Jerrabomberra to enjoy their food. They don’t disappoint 😊
Went there for the pho recently. Great broth, great tasting. Grossly insufficient noodles - like about half what a normal portion would be. Ok beef. Decent price ($13/13.50 for a bowl). But i'd much rather pay a little more for a complete meal.
