Very decent yum cha with a rich variety. The food tastes really good. We came at 10:30 sharp, and seemed to be the first patron but they forgot to open the door.:-) One minor thing about the food is the dumplings are a bit over steamed. So it is a little hard to pick up in whole. Otherwise, everything is as expected. Will definitely come back.
I've been to the Scholar a few times in the distant past, but this was probably my first visit in 3 or 4 years. I've previously enjoyed their yum cha a lot! This was my first time in ages actually dining here. Service ok - good. Food and drink: Red wine - not my thing. Lobster dumplings - excellent! Hot, crispy and packed full of crustacean. ( Possibly not all lobster) Szechuan lamb - ok Boneless duck with orange - very good. Quite sweet but the tartness of the orange helps. It wasn't very busy when we visited, but it definitely deserves more customers. It could do with a makeover but the food is legit.
Very very surprised with the place for yum cha today visiting from Sydney. I’d say better than a lot of restaurants in Sydney. Very fresh produce too 🤗👍👍👍
