love love love the BBQ set with wagyu beef and pork belly. Plenty of side dish and yummy dipping sauces
Excellent service. Friendly staff. Beautiful food. Fair prices. Thank you. We will be back.
My first Korean bbq in Sydney! This place had really yummy korean bbq! It was $120 for two but it was well worth it! The servings aren’t so big for the price for it was still tasty! Highly recommended. Ps they do have a lot of flavours of soju!
Ordered the barbecue set for 2 people and it was quite reasonable for its price actually. It tasted pretty good for a kbbq in this area. The service was impeccable; very nice staff and quick service, taken in consideration that it was a busy night out :D
Food was nice but service lacking
La Grilla is a Korean BBQ restaurant located at the top of the Canley Heights food strip. It is a small restaurant with some outdoor seating. It also has some interesting artwork on the walls.
Because it was the Canley Heights Lunar New Year Town Centre celebration, the restaurant was busy. Most restaurants were busy. We managed to squeeze ourselves inside in the corner but there was no room to put the pram so we parked it next to me behind an empty table. As a result, it was a bit hard for the wait staff to serve us the food. Regardless, it's not acceptable to throw the plates across the table to us. I would have preferred them to have passed them to me.
We ordered the Full Filling Wagyu Set with raw marbled beef, beef rib, outside skirt and chilli pork belly to cook ourselves in front of us on a hot plate. We also ordered a side of miso soup and purple rice. To drink, we only ordered the pineapple cruiseritta as we had made a trip to Teabags prior.
As part of the wagyu set, it came with 5 different side dishes. The white radish was nicely pickled and sliced thinly whilst maintaining its crunch. The omelette was cold and had a lot of onion in it. Flavors were ok, not very salty. The broccoli was overcooked and was not nice. The kimchi was yummy. The wombok was well marinated with chilli and salt, and I had only had hoped there was more. The pickled onion was suprisingly nice. It was sweet, sour and salty. It didnt taste spicy from the onion and it didnt have the strong onion flavor either.
The variety of meat provided all was marinated well. It had a lot of nice flavours. The set meal definitely was enough to feed two people happily. If I could eat more, I would. Just a novelty way of dining out.
The salad was nice with a sweet and salty dressing. But it would have been nicer if it had some carrot, capsicum or cucumber for some colour and texture.
The miso soup was a little salty. It had small pieces of tofu and seaweed.
The purple rice was just boiled rice. It was cooked well and wasn't soggy.
I had trouble waving down a waitstaff and when I did, we ordered the pineapple cruiseritta. Some time had passed so I asked again and it still took a while for the drink to arrive. We finally received the drink and by looking at it, I was trying to work out what could have they done that could have taken so long - nothing. It was nice, tasted more like a sweet drink, couldnt really taste the alcohol.
As we were finishing up, I wanted to order an icy dessert but was told that the ice machine wasn't working. What a let down. Maybe it would have been a good idea if the waitstaff informed us at the time she sat us down to avoid disappointment when ordering.
Verdict: Meat had a lot of yummy flavours so I dont think the other meat dishes on the menu would disappoint. If you like kimchi like I do, it is yummy here. Definitely be back and hopefully they would have improved on customer service by then.
👅Taste-wise : delicious.
💰Price-wise : cheap.
🙇🏻Staff treatment : very friendly.
🍽Portion size : fulfilling.
Went there for dinner with my family and very happy with my first visit. We ordered the meal wagyu set for 2 people for $59 and the meat were a lot. We had the Tteok-bokki and Japchae too and it was not too bad. Maybe order the cheese Tteok-bokki cause I had the meat one, it wasn’t that nice. The staffs were so friendly too, with smiles and always helped us quickly. Would definitely visit them again! 🇰🇷
Top quality Korean BBQ restaurant . Service is always amazing, and the wagyu beef is high quality and tasty. Price is within reason. Overall, a highly recommendable restaurant.
I'm a kbbq lover and honestly, this is my favorite. Their meat is so evenly cooked , not too burnt or anything even leaving it long on the grill. Their pancakes ARE the best! So crunchy and soft at the same time compared to other restaurants it's too soft for me. There cheese tteokbokki is also so different compared to other restaurants, so neatly served with a dumpling on top! But there is usually 2 people serving, which is too less to keep up with how many customers are present. But you can cope with it cause it's all about the food
Decent food but not the best Korean food. Great variety and alot of the menu is quite healthy. The bimbipbap was pretty tasty. Been a few times and the staff is often really nice however there are times when they have been rude
Food portion is very small. But the food is fresh and yummy. Nice Korean restaurant in the western suburbs.
We are regular here! But never get full tbh lol

La Grilla Management

La Grilla is the very first Korean restaurant to be opened in a Chinese/Vietnamese populated area of eateries. I can still remember the first time I went to eat at La Grilla, right after school and super excited for some yummy Korean food! This was of course a couple of years ago and I am super stoked to tell you guys that so much has changed since then.
Some of my favourites include:
1. Cheese Tteokbukki - A rice cake dish that is buried under a thick layer of melted cheese and ramen noodles. The gooey texture of the rice cake makes it super chewy and bouncy (if you know what I mean). The sauce was of a thick consistency which I love!
2. Stir Fried Chilli Seafood Noodle - Something alongside the udon noodle tossed with seafood, this dish has its temptation.
They have friendly staff and great deals for food! La Grilla is a nice local place to go for some Korean feed without travelling too far.
