I would have to say that this is probably one of the better East Malaysian cuisine restaurants. I have been here a number of times with family and friends and the food usually doesn't disappoint. With that said, I have come to realise that some dishes are indeed a little better than others. For starters, the portion sizing is quite big and would be suitable for big eaters like myself. If you order anything with fried chicken, it usually comes in a big portion. Crispy skin and quite succulent, but a little lacking in taste (requires more salt when marinating). However you cant complain as some of these dishes are less than $10 so its really very worthwhile. One of my favourite dishes from this establishments would be the Salted Egg Fried Chicken. This is really the BOMB and you have to try it. Very very Tasty! You would also have to try their Chendol dessert. For $5 you get a nice big bowl, as compared to $5 for a miserly cup in a similar establishment just down the road. This has become one of our go-to places for a meal.
It was really quiet when we were here on a saturday afternoon. Restaurant was bright and clean with Chinese radio station playing in the background. We werent that hungry so we ordered kampua special and wheatgrass tea to share. Both the food and drink were amazingly good although the portion of noodle was small.
5 is for the food here being authentic east Malaysian food. Come here for Kolo or Kampua Mee(but they don't do Sarawak Laksa!). Don't come here for wantan mee or nasi lemak or other dishes that are more West Malaysian dishes.
