We had dinner here the other night, and it wasn't bad. The food is your typical Westernised Chinese dishes like sweet and sour pork, Mongolian lamb, beef and black bean sauce etc. We tried a dish called rusty nails which is also known as rainbow beef or crispy peking beef strips. The flavours were good, but it wasn't crispy unfortunately. The combination chow mein was ok. Generous portion sizes and ok service.
I took my patents to this restaurant and they liked the food here. The salt pepper prawns were really juicy, from the colour I can tell they use fresh oil( not recycled).
Other dishes are also impressive as below picture shows.
The service was extraordinary! The waiter was very friendly & flexible, he can make recommendations according to our preferences.
Definitely will visit this restaurant more often.
RETRO CHINESE GOODNESS
I can't speak highly enough of this local Miranda institution. The vintage vibe, waiters in smart outfits sporting a cheeky sense of humour, house wine in a carafe & the food....nothing beats prawn cutlets, duck pancakes & their Rusty Nails....so moorish....Just go there!
Fabulous Chinese food with great service and easy dining ambience.
Food is fresh, comes hot to the table and at a nice speed.
Waiters will ask how you would Iike the dishes brought to you and in what selection which shows their enthusiasm to please.
A variety of drinks are available including beer and spirits although the wine list is not extensive but BYO is an option anyway.
All in all, a very pleasant restaurant which I highly recommend ✅💯 Colino1861
Not many vegan options but thanks to another vegan comment for a reference, so tried the same - fried veg rice, veg Singapore noodles, bean veg salad, and something else forgot the name. Pretty good for $50 but not much variety of taste. Was waiting about 40mins for pick up order, quite busy place.
