Ever since my travels to Japan I've been searching for the same authentic tastes, attention to quality and Japanese experience. Finally I've found it !!! The variety of fish and freshness is something I haven't experienced in Melbourne before. The great service and a trained Japanese sushi chef preparing our dishes makes all the difference. I'll be back !!!

Having lived in Japan, this Japanese food is as authentic as it gets. It’s melt in your mouth kind of sushi. Great range of choices and lovely staff. Highly recommend!

A good place to get some authentic sushi and sashimi. An extensive menu apart from the raw fish. we tried and I liked the fried prawns, steamed egg (chawanmushi), baked scallops, and mixed tempura. For hot food, I would recommend the fried prawnlings, perfect to go with sake or beer.
Lovely ambience and nice and cosy internal decor, a small place so recommended to book for larger groups. Chef’s table is also a good place to sit at if you are for a chat and only for sushi.
Dine in or take-away both are fantastic. Recently returned from Japan and had the sushi / sashimi platter as take-away. Excellent quality and flavours! Dine in is also really good with a lovely ambience and service. Highly recommend.

I have been to Yuzen Japanese Restaurant and found that the food there was lovely the staff very friendly and the atmosphere and ambiance was fantastic as I find all Asian Restaurants have their own way of cooking and taste vary according to the chefs if you like your food more salty or more flavourful let the chef know cause I like mine more natural without having to drink a lot of water afterwards so I would strongly recommend all readers to try it for yourselves than listening to all this supposed experts
I'm originally from Japan and I constantly travel back and forth. I'm so happy that I finally found in Melbourne that actually prepares in a traditional way by Japanese chefs and to a very high standard.
The variety of fish for sushi and sashimi is great, both in quality and different types of which you don't get elsewhere. The traditional egg omelette in sushi is actually made in house. Not bought in like elsewhere, this is just an example of why I keep coming back here.
I came here on a busy Friday night and was greeted by the friendly staff immediately, who were extremely helpful and attentive with recommendations despite having a full house. The interior made a great setting, with modern Japanese decor. We had the sashimi, tempura prawn, karaage, eggplant, yakitori and takoyaki. The food was cooked to perfection and extremely flavourful. The sashimi was fresh, and prices were extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place!
Just had the Yuzen deluxe sushi and sashimi platter. Absolutely delicious. To quote the late, great Anthony Bourdain, sushi is 90% about the rice, and the rice here is perfect. Crumbly and tender rather than wallpaper paste, which is way too common in Melbourne sushi places. Excellent stuff.
We have been looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant for a while. Finally found it here. Can’t believe that it was just underneath our nose for the last four years and we didn’t even know. Beautiful sushi and sashimi, great Gyoza. Delightful staff. We will definitely be returning.
This is one of the great japanese family restaurants in the bayside area. The service is great snd friendly. Food is authentic and fresh.
Beer choice is fantastic , as Asahi is the way to go... there no better to have with Japanese food.
Best Japanese restaurant so far in Melbourne. Was recommended by my colleague who is Japanese. Decent food and great service. Their sushi and sashimi is unbeatable!
Excellent chiraishi don. Steven the owner is a great sushi chef. The service was a bit down probably because it was one lady serving all of us (20 inside).
Wow. This was amazing. The food made my mouth excited for the next bite. Tried about 5 things from the menu and all were perfect.
