Good solid take away establishment. This was the sort of place I would visit and now with the advent of Uber Eats and Deliveroo I find myself eating take away from here. This is a good pace the get a freshly made baguette filled with Chicken freshly grilled, Israeli salads and chips. It is a good place to order from and the only down side is it is my healthy. The chicken drummettes are also a favourite. My daughter doesn’t mind the schnitzel and chips but Laffa Bar makes a better kids schnitzel and chips.
Before anyone questions the 5 star rating - I just want to emphasise- this is where you go when you just want a nice take away slightly greasy sandwich.
The shnitzel baguette is just delicious. The tahini and fried eggplant are the perfect addition. The baguettes are made fresh and are just so tasty.
The place lacks ambience and eating in can be cold. But the tastiness of the food is just something special!
Good service and friendly staff, beef burger is made from top quality ingredients. I think that $17 for a beef burger on its own is quite steep - I would expect a side of chips and a can for that price. Benches were also sticky. Overall the food was nice, but too expensive.
Unlike other parts of the world Melbourne doesn't do sandwichs very well. Simple fresh sandwichs on toasted baguettes. Friendly guys behind the counter and a good range.
If you like a good chicken schnitzel, look no further than Sandwich Bar 55 (55 Kooyong Rd, Caulfield). It is kosher and is popular with the Jewish community. It's run by 2 Israeli guys who are friendly and passionate about whipping up good quality rolls. They bake their buns on premise and I must say these are so fresh and crisp. You can add a host of fillings in your roll, I went for: Grilled eggplant, white & red cabbage, hommus, tomato, cucumber, pickles & mayonaise. The chicken schnitzel is juicy and has a good crunch factor. As you can see a very appealing looking lunch. It was extremely fillings and I enjoyed every bite of it. I can't wait until my next chicken schnitzel roll from here!!
Regular lunch. I come here often as the schnitzel sandwich is always fresh. A really great sandwich at a good price.
Freshly baked baguettes, with your choice of lamb, thinly sliced steak, teriyaki chicken or chicken schnitzel, this place has to be the best place if you love your subs.
Always fresh and always tasty I really like this place. They have salads, stir frys, rice, subs.
You would never know that this place is kosher because the food tastes that good.
The two cooks were really nice, very casual dining but very yummy sandwiches. They make their breads fresh and they assemble the sandwich in front of you so you know it's fresh.
Sandwich Bar 55 has been serving the most delicious fast food since forever! There isn't a place in Melbourne with faster service - and their food is always amazing! The Teriyaki chicken bagguette (pictured) is a real winner. Keep it up ;)
We are hummus fanatics and have eaten hummus around the world! Hummus full (father beans) on Fridays are an international institution to rival the best in the world. This is serious hummus which deserves a Michelin star!
Definitely the best kosher place that I have ever been in Melbourne. They have delicious freshly grilled meat baguette sandwiches and burgers in a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. I will certainly go again to that place!

Yummy baguettes and friendly service, they are kosher and a lovely guy there cooking. I was slightly disorganised and forgot to order ahead for an 8 people lunch so it was a little messy because they haven't got big foiled trays onsite. Forgot to take a photo cos I was in a rush.
