My favourite place for ramen! Opposite the RSL club and very close to Chatswood interchange. Their teriyaki chicken rice is so delicious too! Must try!
Best tonkotsu base ramen i have experienced in Australia.. i love kakuni and for them to offer kakuni tonkotsu ramen is awesome! Especially with kaedama (extra noodles) for just $1! Great value, great atmosphere, great staff, and most of all great ramen. Highly recommend this ramen bar. I cant wait for winter when hot ramen on a cold day will be bliss.
If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant which makes delicious ramen, this is the place for you. All of their dishes were amazing but the ramen was a stand out. Great service as well.
Loved the ramen. It has many variety to choose from. And I love how some condiments are available so you can customise your ramen. Broth is amazing and very tasty. Will definitely go back. 👌🏻
It's not the usual tonkotsu broth, its made with Bonito 👍 interesting flavor! And the ramen actually goes with the green vege 😋
Hands down. The best ramen in Sydney.
Been meaning to try this for ages and it did not disappoint! Relatively cheap/reasonable prices and great tonkotsu ramen. Flavourful, and well cooked noodles that was full of depth and flavour. Chashu was nothing special. Loved that you could self-serve your own condiments of raw garlic, pickled veges and chilli oil etc. Keen to be back.
Very satisfying feed. It's on the expensive side for ramen ($19), but it was still really nice, and service was reasonably quick. I put it in my top 3 of ramen places I've been to.
Hakata Maru in Chatswood is an epic noodle eatery and a place to try sooner rather than later. Classic style Japanese eatery, super casual and efficiency at its best. God seated quite quickly and priority to order not far behind. We had booked a table for 6+ people so would recommend booking for your visit.
It’s really all about the ramen but make sure you arrive early (before 6pm) for the happy hour and snack on dumplings and chicken karrage. Best to give the edamame a miss. Not particularly enjoyable for me on this visit.
Now to the main event - the signature ramen. It was my first trip here but others in my group - let’s call them noodle connoisseurs - have been here many times. High quality noodles and delicious broth also means it won’t be my last visit either.
Loads of choice for ramen including, white tonkotsu ($12), clear shoyu ($14), miso tonkotsu ($14.50), dandan (spicy $15.50) and the signature supreme ramen ($18.50). Five stars for Hakata Maru in Chatswood ⭐️
Service was quick, clean and we stepped in when they literally just opened its doors so it was quiet. The entries were great, I especially loved their gyoza, it had the thinnest crispiest bottom layer and top-outer shell was so soft...

Best ramen in Chatswood!!
Around 55$ for two people
The dim sum starter is full of filling.
Ramen broth is quite salty but the pork is amazing.
Definitely come back!
The ramen here was yummy as were the steamed baos, especially the kimchi chicken bao. I ordered the chashu shoyu ramen which came with pork belly slices, seaweed, egg, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts and corn.
Service was fast and portions were of average size.
Decent ramen. Not the best I have had but definitely above average. A small team who get through the orders quickly. Go for the signatures hakatamon ramen. The karage chicken is very good as well. Chicken and prawn dumplings can be given a miss. Bit of a draft and chill even when seated inside
Soup is full of flavour and ramen is cooked to perfect texture.
However gyoza is not great at all, the wrapper is thick and doughy while the filling is lack of flavour. Definately expected it to be better than frozen supermarket stuff
My first time visit to @hakatamonramen. There won’t much option for Chicken Ramen. So I ordered the one and only choice on the menu was the Wonton Shoyu Ramen (Soy Sauce Broth Ramen with Chicken and Prawn Wonton). Yummy Taste 8/10.
This place is great, the ramen is Fantastic. Better value and taste than Ippudo. The tables are a bit sticky but the Ramen makes up for it. Highly recommend if you want Ramen and are in Chatswood (My favourite is the Hakatamon special tonkotsu!)
Very satisfied for a hidden ramen place.
They do offer kids ramen for $7.
Small place make sure you will be prepared for the waiting list on dinner time
Delicious Japanese Ramen in their menu. Make sure to try their Dandan Tonkutso Ramen. A perfect blend of tasty and well balanced broth with delectable toppings. Prices are very affordable as well.
