Good value for the taste.
They serve fresh wasabi as opposed to the store bought kind and believe me, you'll want to try it!

Always a pleasure to dine here. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Food is fresh and have a great variety. Well priced. Love how the kids gets to choose a sticker pack after a meal. You won’t be disappointed even if you have to wait a little bit because of the queue. Wagyu beef hand roll is a must try.

The shop is always busy so expect some lining up time. Has a wide variety for sushi included in today’s specials. Highly recommended to try nigiri and sushi here.

Family run sushi train restaurant in the heart of Chatswood. Lots of different nigiri sushi offered on the belt. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Slightly more expensive than standard sushi train but great quality. Very authentic! We will be back.

If you don’t know this place you wouldn’t walk in. But every time I walk past, it’s always full, so I decided to try them out. The service was excellent, the owner really attentive. The sushis on the sushi train are really fresh you can tell. They also have fishes of the day and they can prepare sushis with those if you want to. I recommend this place.

Typical sushi train restaurant. Usually busy but service is always friendly and attentive. You can also order off the menu.

A fair variety on the train. Hot and cop dishes.

Prices vary so you can have a cheap or a hefty meal depending.

3.5 Sushi Kaido is located in Chatswood and is a small sushi train. The staff are super friendly and attentive which I immediately notice. The owner seems to hover over most of the patrons but you can tell it's because he wants to make sure all the customers are looked after. It's a good tactic to get people to order more dishes as well as he spruke the fish of the day.

Best sushi train in Sydney and best value for money! It leans more on the expensive side but you get high quality sashimi (never have I ever had an average quality sashimi), generous size, and authentic Japanese touch to their food items.

I have been a regular and loyal customer for 1.5 year and have never had a disappointing experience. Wish they have a bigger outlet though to save the wait... :)

My must-order items are: wagyu beef, salmon belly, ikura ship, ebi fry and soft shell crab roll.

Highly recommend it!

💗Best sushi train in Sydney💗
You can't turn down the fresh wasabi!
$3 lunch specials are good value, wish they didn't take the aburi salmon off it though.
Must try the agedashi tofu, perfectly balanced and love the addition of mushrooms.
Wagyu hand roll melts in your mouth and is to die for.
Best serving sizes too compared to sushi hotaru and other sushi trains, much fresher too.

Kaido’s sushi are always fresh and never disappoint me. The portion are generous, and taste so yummy. Just be prepared to be in the queue when you come, but it usually doesn’t take too long. Staff are friendly, especially the owner. The restaurant it self is clean. Price are not expensive, great for what its value.

My friends and I has been a regular visitor for years. Kaido is definitely one of the best sushi in Sydney at a reasonable price. I can confidently say it is the best sushi in Chatswood. They always have good quality salmon and scallop, their soy sauce and wasabi is also very legit. Go for Kaido if you want actual sushi.

COVID has changed this place quite a bit, back then the experience was even more authentic with the plates running on sushi train, I really miss those times. Nonetheless, the level taste and quality remains the high, food are delicious as always. If you don’t mind the potential long wait and slightly premium price, you’ll love this place as much as I do

Service: 4/5 stars Staff are authentically Japanese, bright if a bit too exuberant at times, and gave good customer service. My only criticism would be their tendency to sometimes rush and disturb us a bit too much (taking away plates and the like). Customers are able to order with staff, as well as on one's phone with a QR code -- a cool system! Along with plastic separators between guests, it's not only efficient, but also helps with COVID-safety. Sushi: 5/5 - I can see why it's so highly-rated. Consistently high quality and properly-proportioned sushi, the neatest I've ever seen, reflective of their premium prices - most nigiri were delicious, the rest were at least decent. Kaido specialises in their grilled range, but the raw salmon & onion was just as delicious, the raw kingfish sweet too. Freshness will always speak for itself it seems - favourites were definitely the teriyaki scallop, pepper wagyu beef and vegetable tempura, which were absolutely mind-blowing in deliciousness. Scallop was soft and melt-in-your-mouth under a smoky, savoury and sweet sauce; I died and ascended to heaven! The pepper beef you could most definitely tell was wagyu, as tender yet bouncy, moist and perfectly-seasoned as it was (I usually don't like beef in sushi, but this was an exception). I never go for tempura on nigiri either, but this one was crispy, fragrant and salty - ootoro (fatty tuna) nigiri was also amazing, but of course for $18 a pop you are literally paying for what you get - unfortunate thing was the more popular nigiri selling out (I recommend coming earlier if you want the wagyu or cheesy scallop, though the latter was surprisingly only alright) - grilled salmon not that great strangely, when the rest of the cooked range is awesome. Salmon belly only just elevated it to 'good' once grilled too. Conclusion: I can see why people line up for Sushi Kaido, and it isn't just because it's a small restaurant; the sushi is top quality, delicious, authentic and well-presented. If only they were open for longer though -- their 3-, 3.5-hour meal durations seem way too short.

We went around 6:30pm and the lines were super long. Approx 45mins waiting time to get in. However well worth the wait. We were seated quickly and given really fresh wasabi and ginger. It used to be a sushi train but it's now a standard sit in and order Japanese restuarant. Everything was made to order which meant everything came out fresh and warm which i actually preferred to if it was a sushi train instead. They had set meals e.g. 8 pieces of nigiri for set $. But you could also order them separately. We ordered the 4pcs aburi terayaki salmon + 4pc aburi scallop set which was fresh and tasty. We also ordered soft shell crab rolls which i would 100% recommend because it was really crispy and they gave you a lot of soft shell crab. We also got takoyaki and tried the prawn salad ship which had really nice flavours. We also ordered extra aburi scallops because they were just so good! Very satisfied customer and this place is worth the hype! Be advised prices are more expensive than your standard sushi train/restuarant, however you can certainly taste the freshness and quality of the fish that makes it worth it.

After so many years, still enjoy the sushi here especially the aburi salmon belly and family ship. It can be slightly pricey but will still visit if we are in Chatswood and craving for sushi.
