I’m not sure why this place has such a low rating. We were served hot, fresh food with lots of options available. The service was also OK, always had tea top ups and lots of carts around us. Loved the fried bread and chicken feet.
I was recommended this restaurant, the seafood was reasonably priced and service was generally good. Although I do think the size of the crab served was smaller than what they quoted. Overall it was still a pleasant experience and will be back.
We ordered set menu: lobster with noodles, steamed scallops and chicken. The quality of food is awesome. They are fresh and tasty. The water serving our table is really good . We finished our dinner with red bean soup desert.
I am not sure why this place is rated this low. We are always up for trying new places and felt like yum cha on a Sunday so we decided to come here. It was surprisingly packed and I say surprisingly because it is tucked away in the Mandarin Centre and not a place that's highly visible on the internet. In fact, we had never heard of it before. We took a number and waited but fortunately, we didn't have to wait for more than 15 minutes. Dishes were $5.90 each and the tea was free. I think it's incredible value and the food was good. It's on par with other yum cha places and sure, some yum cha places are better but for the price, it's fantastic and we left satisfied. I thought the service was good, we certainly did not have to chase people up for food and the lady at the cashier (perhaps one of the owners?) was nice and friendly. I'd be happy to recommend this place and I would be glad to come back.
I have been to Fortune Place twice, the food is excellent except for the service. We had to wait for 40 mins for our food and this restaurant gets busy when a tour bus drops in and big groups. They need more staff on busy days. Booking is a must.
Yum cha spot that hits the spot. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service and variety here is great and the prices are also reasonable.
One of the most authentic Cantonese food in Sydney, good crabs, free soup and dessert. If you are looking for westernized Chinese, you'll probably be disappointed
Usually come here for lunch with my mum on Sundays and its almost always packed with people during that time. Since its a yum cha there is a very wide variety of foods. I usually get the chicken feet, salt and pepper squid, marinated ribs and a few others but all of them are delicious. Their mango pancake dessert thing is also nice
Waiters there are quite friendly and interactive especially if you are yourself
Went here for yum cha lunch on a Saturday.
All dishes were $5.90 so the total bill for 3 people ended up at around $40.
Service is prompt and staff friendly.
Some dishes were better than others and as can be expected with yum cha a few were cold by the time they came around to us.
I enjoyed the prawn dumplings but the quality of roast duck was quite low.
Only place open that had a liquor license and was taking reservation. We ordered peking, fried pork ribs, full duck, dim sums and fried rice and noodles. Everything taste fresh and tasty. Portions can be a little larger for the prices they charge. Would recommend .
Nice dinner here.
We bought a set meal which came with lobster, a main dish and vegetables and additionally honey chicken.
The restaurant had complimentary soup and dessert like at normal Chinese restaurants.
The lobster was sweet and tender, but the sauce was a bit watery.
The drunken chicken was tasty and paired well with the ginger and scallion sauce.
The vegetables were crispy and had soy sauce pronounced in it.
The honey chicken was sweet and satisfied my craving.
The meal overall was a bit expensive being around $170 for 4 people.
Authentic Cantonese food. Place is a little old, but I guess that's why it's reasonably priced. Quick service, very friendly staff. Only down side is cash only which can be inconvenient but no problems.
Fantastic dishes. Delicious food and tasty flavoursome. Just the right amount sauce on Noodles
Yummy Dimsum in Chatwoods! any dish @$7 each! worth to try.
Excellent, good value Cantonese food. Reasonably priced seafood (lobster and prawns) and good Peking duck. The lobster with a crispy noodle base is my favourite... And cheap at the moment.
Nicely spaced out tables for these COVID times. Bring your family for a feast. We normally go for dinner and have no issues booking a table. They give you free soup and dessert.
Reliably good yum cha in Chatswood's Mandarin Centre. Has been a regular haunt for the locals for ages. Service is good and the prices attractive. It does get busy though. Buy items from the regular trolleys, all the old favourites are prepared well, and now they've priced all standard plates the same.....Great idea!
